Keanu Reeves "Dracula" Promotional Photoshoot (1992)
He is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Even with all the tragedy that has befallen him, he's still good to people. He's one of my fantasy dinner party guests !
Princess Diana, Last Photoshoot By Mario Testino For Vanity Fair, 1997
Probably cos when we see her photos we see her as the princess Diana, this is when she had left Charles and wasn’t being ‘Princessy’ at all, the times where weird and barely anyone had her back at this point
Load More Replies...She looks so happy and relaxed. She looks like she feels free. More beautiful than she had ever been. Why did that have to be for such a short time?😞
Death of Lady Diana and JFK Jr - two of the saddest modern tragedies ❤
Load More Replies...She looked so beautiful in that photo shoot. What is more, she looked genuinely happy. As if some great weight had been taken off her shoulders. A few months later, she was dead.
Charles hated that Diana was beloved. She was more popular than him. She laughed at peoples' jokes, gave hugs, and people loved her. Camzilla was an utter monster to a teenaged girl. She flaunted her hold on Charles to Diana's face, and wore white to Diana's wedding. She was married then, too. Diana had a new, serious boyfriend. Interestingly enough, he was a man of color. And now Harry has married a biracial woman who has some of Diana's charisma.
Load More Replies...She looks so relaxed. It's nice to see a picture like that. I think it's so sad what's happening with her boys, I hope that they just stop all the nonsense and just get on with it. I'm sorry Harry and Megan you ruined the Queens last year and ought to be ashamed. I'm not a royalist but I do believe in family bonds and people should never go out of their way to hurt their own family.
You sound like youve had good family relationships growing up. Not hating on the rest of your comments, but it shows you had a wonderfully sheltered childhood. Plenty of people have every right to ‘throw a relative under the bus’ so to speak.

All of our favorite celebrities have had flourishing careers, but it’s fascinating to look back on when they were younger and more fresh within their respective industries. Before Friends, Jennifer Aniston wasn’t a household name, and many people had never heard of Prince until he was in his 20’s. But it’s fascinating to see photos of them at the beginning of their careers versus where they are now. And lucky for us, all of those stars we know and love today were in some fabulous photo shoots in their youth.
The Old School Cool subreddit is dedicated to sharing pics of “history’s cool kids, looking fantastic”, and it certainly does a great job of that. The community describes itself as “a pictorial and video celebration of history's coolest kids, everything from beatniks to bikers, mods to rude boys, hippies to ravers. And everything in between. If you've found a photo, or a photo essay, of people from the past looking fantastic, here's the place to share it.” It has amassed an impressive 17.6 million members over the past 11 years, and lucky for us, some of the photos featured are of the actors and musicians we love.
Pamela Anderson In 1993
She shouldn’t have changed a thing. But then, Hollywood does set you on a treadmill.
Wow Pammy you were so naturally beautiful, why change yourself so much.
Jamie Lee Curtis (1980)
"👀 A pullover sits correctly, when men aren't able to breathe anymore." Designer Elsa Sciaparelli, if I remember correctly.
I love her, but her right hand is on some mission of its own, apart from whatever else is happening in this moment. Is she scratching a mosquito bite? Playing half of an air guitar?Or what?
The Instagram/TikTok pose had not been invented then
Load More Replies...Well, the did call her “The Body,” however objectifying that is yet was accepted back in the day.
Marilyn Monroe's Final Photoshoot Photos, Just Three Weeks Before Her Death In 1962
I read about that shoot. She was drinking a lot during it, maybe even during the whole thing. Tons of pictures showing her drinking and it was not necessarily congruent with the settings she was in.
Load More Replies...Taken by George Barris, these are two of probably the saddest looking pics from her last photo shoots. Officially, this is her final photo (before those horrible coroner's pictures were leaked), taken on Santa Monica beach, July 13, 1962 (she died three weeks later on August 4). Can you really tell me this woman looks sad? Furthest thing from the truth. Have a look at the other pics taken that June and July. That's a woman very comfy in her own skin and looking forward to the future, not on her deathbed. Big fan, just sharing. https://people.com/movies/rare-marilyn-monroe-photos-auction/ Marilyn-Mo...ebd7b9.jpg
But was she truly happy? People are good at hiding how they feel. Especially when they're in the spotlight all the time. I guess we'll never know.
Load More Replies...To gain more insight on what it takes to make a timeless photo shoot, we reached out to professional photographer Becca Lueck, of Becca Jean Photography. She was kind enough to have a chat with Bored Panda, first detailing what she loves most about photography. “I love pretty much everything about photography, so that’s a tough one to answer!” she shared. “But I would have to say documenting different family’s personalities, and the way that they interact. Capturing their relationships is so special and my ultimate goal.”
We were also curious how Becca manages to capture a person’s essence when photographing them. “I am always looking for ways to get people to interact, rather than just standing there and smiling at the camera,” she explained. “So I will give people things to do that will help them bring out their personalities and feel comfortable in front of my camera.”

Rare Backstage Photoshoot From Return Of The Jedi By Brian Griffin 1982
I see her in this and remember she was on cocaine and (I think) had an eating disorder. Most girls wanted to look just like her - she was stunning. And if this was a poster, to this day teenage boys would want one on their wall.
Yes, compare with the post production photos elsewhere in this thread. The producers and directors wouldn't let her eat.
Load More Replies...I hear the “Luke looking into the double sunset theme” when I see this. Would’ve been an entirely different story. They tried to make up for missing the Leia storyline in the old parts, but for me the new episodes just don’t have that magic.
This is very, very outstanding work. Especially considering that photoshop and things like that didn't exist at all at that time. Just look at how to take such a beautiful picture today, without editing!
You can edit photos in the darkroom, it’s not hard and it’s been done since cameras were invented
Load More Replies...When it comes to what kinds of photoshoots Becca enjoys the most, she says, “My very favorite sessions are family adventure sessions, where we get to go somewhere really beautiful here in the Pacific Northwest, with gorgeous scenery and interactive elements. Dolly Parton Photoshoot At Dollywood Back In 1987
She's the best. You don't have to even enjoy country music to enjoy her
OMG, does this goddess ever age? incredible. What is in the water over there?
She does admit to having work done to keep herself looking young - and that's not a criticism. She's entitled to do what she wants to herself and with her own money.
Load More Replies...She’s always been one of my favourites ever since my piano-playing mother had her songbook and sang me “Coat of many colors” back in the 70’s. Load More Replies...We also asked Becca if she thinks all photoshoots are timeless or if there are specific ways photographers can ensure their shoots remain captivating decades later. “I always let people know that they should leave any digital watches at home and replace them with a more timeless watch, because nothing dates a photo more than a big Apple Watch on someone’s wrist,” she told Bored Panda. “I also help families figure out clothing, because what you would normally wear every day is not necessarily going to photograph well. So I am looking for clothing that is a bit more timeless, without any crazy prints that look super trendy.”
Mark Hamill And Carrie Fisher Photoshoot, 1977
I mistook that for a Capenters album cover for a second! 91ThjYsQz1...41eae9.jpg
I was in HS. I see actors like this now and often think, wow, they've really aged a lot. (or died, RIP) then I think - Dude, look in the mirror.
Seriously! I was watching a Criminal Minds rerun episode and thought the bad guy looked like "old, fat Luke Skywalker". I laughed at my first impression. Then I saw the credits, and it WAS Mark. It made me feel super old. He was my first crush!

Drew Barrymore's Gq Photoshoot, 1993
“When I am doing a session inside of a family’s home, then I just ask them to put away anything that would be distracting, like dirty laundry, phone chargers and other cords,” Becca added. “I think that well placed and nice looking clutter is fine, but you don’t want a bunch of dirty dishes, or things like that in the background.”
Winona Ryder For Rolling Stone, 1991
When I was in high school, and she was a young Hollywood actress, I used to look up to her. Even when her break down was all over the news, I thought I'd love to go shopping with her.
What the heck kind of a pose is this? Can I be the only person who looks at what was clearly supposed to be a seductive photo of a barely-dressed girl in bed and sees a girl who is trying in every way to protect herself from whatever is going on? Take away the fact that she is a famous actress and just look at her position. Four thousand ways to scream "I don't want to be here, do not come any closer, do not even think about touching me, go away." I can understand her but I cannot understand any photographer (or viewer) who thought this was sexy. It makes me want to cry.
well yes, I reckon she's constantly struggling with depression.

Marvin Gaye In The Rain, A Shot From The Photoshoot For His 1971 Album, "What's Going On" Released 50 Years Ago This Month And Considered By Many, Including Me, To Be The Greatest Album Of All Time
His 1971 album was "Released 50 years ago this month"? I think somebody's math is a bit off or they copy and pasted this from elsewhere.
“I’ve been photographing families for over 10 years, so I’ve definitely learned some things along the way. My biggest tip when it comes to getting family photos taken is to really focus on having a fun time with your family,” Becca says. “The more you can be in the moment and stop stressing over everything being perfect, the better your photos will turn out.”

Keanu Reeves Photoshoot Circa 1985
Loved by woman of all ages!!! It's just something about him. That, and he gives so much and won't take any credit for it.
I’m glad people are documenting Keanu from when he was one of the most beautiful creatures on earth! It’s telling, though, that there are no current photos of him. Sigh. People REALLY don’t like when we wear age on our bodies. 😞 (And how fantastic s it that he’s Asian? Hollywood doesn’t seem to have much use for Asians except as caricatures, and while it’s been changing, it’s glacially slow. I love it that Keanu’s leading the charge for change!

Possibly the most overall talented musician in history. (i.e brilliant at many instruments, styles, and every aspect of the song process from idea to production).
To learn more wise words from photographers, we checked out this list from Full Frame featuring advice from some of the most famous names in the industry. Tom Hido, a San Francisco-based photographer who’s been featured in The New York Times Magazine and Vanity Fair, says, “To be kind is most important. After that, be prepared with a plan of how you’re going to make the picture. An example in my case would be, every time I photograph somebody, I always scout out the spot I’m going to photograph them in and try to anticipate what the light is going to be like and modify it if needed.”
Monica Bellucci, 1991
I wonder what the photographer was trying to draw your eyes to. Probably that old tractor in the background.

Outtakes From The Photoshoot That Would Eventually Become The Album Cover Of Pink Floyd's Album Wish You Were Here (1975)
One Of The First Photoshoots Of The Rolling Stones - 1963
Worked their first American concert. They were rather overwhelmed but grew into their roles... to put it mildly. Much later, one of our guys (let's call him Ray) worked a tour and had to build the lips and tongue background. Jagger wanted it bigger at each stop. Mid-tour Jagger wanted us to build a ridiculously long tongue that extended over the audience. It was not safe with the equipment of that time. Ray explained this. Jagger threw a hissy fit. Now, Ray was a biker... big, tattooed street fighter. Jagger's bodyguard tried to do a half-arsed flying kick at our guy. Ray deflected it and guy went flying off the stage. Jagger stopped mid rant, fired the bodyguard and ran after Ray trying to hire him. Nope. Didn't work. And that is just one of the roadie stories our crew told over the years.
Let me know when those stories make it into book format, OR, I'm in! Great stuff.

See through - to a full cup bra and a slip that covers everything and is less revealing than some beach wear. In the 70s they could not show a woman in a bra on TV. I lived near Canada. A quick reference to whether you were watching a US station or a Canadian station was the Playtex bra ads. Canada - women in bra saying hw comfortable it was. US - fully clothed woman pointing to the bra on a mannequin and saying how comfortable it was. That seemed kind of dumb even back then.

Contact Sheet Of Jim Morrison's "Young Lion" Photoshoot (Joel Brodksy) 1967
NEVER, not even once, did I work with someone who oozed sensuality like Jim Morrison. He had a subtle, irresistible energy that blew my teenage mind. You could sense him before you saw him. Elvis wasn't even in same game, neither was Clapton or Daltry. Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant had a powerful presence, but it was their voice, their talent, their act. Jim Morrison had an altogether different effect. And no... no I did not get personal with him, or any of the acts. Too naive. Dang it.
The Doors.... absolutely 1 of my favorite bands of all time. Nothing like blasting them while driving thru the Smokey's!!!
It's been ~50 years since I worked around him ...and dang it, I feel the same way lol

As a young teenager, I thought everyone found her absolutely stunning. It took 8 more years to realize that there was a word to describe me, bisexual. Rural life, pre internet, was very sheltered for teenagers.
Calvin Klein Photoshoot With Kate Moss & Mark Wahlberg By Mario Sorrenti In 1993
Is Calvin Klein who we have to thank for guys that wear their jeans falling down around their knees?
No, that's a trend that started in prisons. In fact, if your pants were worn low like that, it signified that you were looking for a "date".

I was curious so I just looked it up, she said he was very macho and she felt vulnerable and scared and had a breakdown afterwards.

Not really his winnings from what I read but he did go on to win a lot of money after that photo was taken. Some of the money in this photo looks too 'long' and thus fake but in another photo from the same shoot it is less so. Possibly something done with resizing the photo or something.

No. Kylie did the British and Australian versions of The Voice. You’re probably thinking of Amanda Holden. And you don’t want to do that.

I beg to differ. But that's the nature of big schisms in bands. (for the record I also think Metallica with Newsted was the best version, and the Gilmour Floyd smokes the Syd version)

Kiss At A Photoshoot, 1975
Never thought a lot of them to be honest. Someone lent me a couple of their albums and it was pretty bland and insipid compared with the likes of Meatloaf.
I was 5 years old when I was made for loving you was a hit. This was the first rocksong i remember. But i saw them on tv somewhere and was so shocked and disgusted that i never ever felt the need to check out their other songs since then LOL (I kinda like rocknroll all nite though)

Is it true that Enya has never had to perform live or tour? I thought I read that here on BP some time ago.

I don't give a damn what anyone says, Courtney may have screwed up, but she was a damn kickass inspiration for Gen X girls who just wanted to play guitar and scream. She was a kick a*s role model for the current lawyers, doctors, and every other girl who was constantly told they would never make it in a mans world.

Probably after Metallica crapped on him for 20 years never gave him any real credit for what he really did in kill em all. Constantly making him the laughing stock of the metal community in the 80s and 90s. Read his book it's very good. One of the best guitar players of the 80s and 90s. I'd put rust in peace up against any metal album from that era
