I like how the colors look, but t would bother me too much that Divergent and Insurgent weren't together, and also the Anne of Green Gables books, they belong next to eachother.

This is one of 4 shelves for my books, not to mention all those on my Kindle and iPad, if varying sizes. What it doesn’t include are the 4 stacks of books that need to put away in the shelves. Two piles of them create a wall next to me on the settee.

I switched to digital about 15 years ago. Right now my full library is on my iPad. Often times the digital copy is cheaper. But the main reason was … deteriorating eyesight. I started having trouble reading a book without a good lamp by my side. Digital books easily fixed that, the screen is lit after all.

Same, and I never thought I'd prefer ebooks over their dead-tree form. So now I only collect physical books if they have been signed / I intend to have them signed by the author.

I'm with you. I read a LOT. As in over 200 books a year. I generally have two or three going at once. There is NO WAY I want a house full of dust catchers. The only books I keep now are either first editions or vintage. Everything else is digital.

1. East Hall, fiction. 2. North Hall, some fiction, and then cookbooks and home maintenance. 3. Sitting room, books about games, children's books, popular culture. 4. My study, reference works. 5. Craft room, craft books and magazines. 6. Sitting room, old Penguins and Everyman's Library, also books about music. 7. North hall, looking west, nonfiction. 8. North hall, looking east, military history at the left edge of the shot, then nonfiction and history; you can just see mythology and religion slightly right of the middle of the frame. There are some other books here and there, but this is most of the collection; around 7,000 volumes (we think).

I like the aesthetic of organizing by color but I could never do that. For me they have to be arranged by topics first, and then alphabetical. Series are grouped together, (also alphabetical but by the series name) and then they need to be in the correct reading order. Lastly there has to be gargoyle statues intermingled with the books to watch over them.
