If it's someone I barely know I usually just say "we'd like to someday" and hope they drop it. If it's someone we've known for a while I say something like "we would love to. If it was up to us we'd already have kids by now. It's in God's hands" to be clear and kind, but without getting into it if I don't feel like it (I don't always mind talking about it to someone who understands though). But yes, ultimately it's better to just avoid asking. I'm at a good enough place otherwise in my life that the question makes me sigh but doesn't hurt as sharply as it used to. But at other times it's made my heart ache to the point I'm almost holding back tears.

I don't know about you guys, but I love talking to little kids. I was having a very deep discussion with a 4 year old the other day about how Kylo Ren was in fact born AFTER Darth Vader died when the Emperor went "Yaaaaah!" with the electricity fingers and he went "Aaaaaah!" and took off his helmet and died.

Yeah but it’s annoying when parents let kids do everything else BUT play on the iPad. Also when they blame your sleep issues on devices when you’re on it 20 minutes a day when they keep u up till 4am…

I know how it feels to be there but since one my kids are about to be school and she is the last kid to go to school. I did want to have another baby but my husband don't and he got a point everytime they do something he like and you wanted to have another one. I love kids. And I am guilty of saying this a few times but I felt bad about it and stoped cause I remember how I felt when I said this to people.

I do miss them, though.
