Some very few things on the internet stay there forever. And one particular writing prompt released back in 2017 sure has stuck around for a while.
Titled “#Case: 273402 Status: Disastruous,” the story was created by the author Kitten Wiskers, better known as Mindy these days. It follows a little girl named Charlotte Dower who is no longer scared of any of the monsters beneath her bed. It soon turns out, there’s a far worse creature in her life.
The tale has caught the imagination of many, but thanks to the Russian artist Natalya Sorokina, it has now been turned into an impressive comic strip. Natalya, who goes by the nickname jwitless, said it’s her “first colored comics ever,” which made her feel slightly nervous. Let’s take a look at the beautiful set of illustrations below, and get ready for the haunting tale to hit you hard.

This story originally posted by Kitten Wiskers has been viral for the past three years

The story is known as one of the most shared tales on the internet and it has served as an inspiration for a lot of fan art, including movies. The short horror film titled “Charlotte and the Monster” inspired by Kitten Wiskers’ tale was released back in 2018.
Since its appearance, the tale has been shared so much on social media accounts, it’s becoming hard to pinpoint the exact date it was posted. It allegedly emerged as a writing prompt on one Tumblr blog that was dedicated to stories and poems as well as witty remarks and additions in the Tumblr community.
And Russian artist Natalya Sorokina decided to illustrate it in this comic strip
Bored Panda contacted Natalya, the 25-year-old artist from Moscow, to find out more about her love for drawing. Natalya is an illustrator at multiple design agencies and she also draws commissions for people’s personal projects. “I like to switch styles and themes, so my Instagram gallery may seem too diverse—from sexy portraits to cute comics for children.”
Natalya said she loves “drawing beautiful people, fantasy creatures, and making meaningful stories which touch the strings of human souls.” When she started drawing as a child, it was mostly horses: “I made dozens of comics with horses in notebooks, where my mom helped me to write down characters’ conversations.” Later, Natalya discovered her passion for creatures that “I haven’t ever seen in real life.”

The illustrator said that “the monster tale moved her deeply.” Plus, “the storyline is short, simple, yet brilliant.” The monster tale inspired her to illustrate the story before adding any details and script changes. “I was very nervous, thinking I didn’t do my best and that people wouldn’t like it. I couldn’t decide on publishing the first chapter for several months,” confessed Natalya.
When it comes to inspiration, Natalya loves browsing art galleries and exploring different styles and techniques. “And sometimes it comes from my heart. When I worry about something, art helps to release the sadness.” She calls it “a free therapy session.”

If only this could be true...
Those who deliberately harm children do not deserve a gentle treatment as in this story.
But they get it. I tried to tell several people about the beatings my father gave me. I showed them the bruises. I begged them for help. ALL of them called my father and told him about my "lies". ...///... the night after I told a priest, he strangled me, threw me on the floor, then kicked me with his work boots. There was blood in my urine for a week. I know I had cracked ribs. I was never allowed to see a doctor. ...///... A neighbour actually saw him hitting and kicking me through the kitchen window. He said nothing. ...///.. . that was just when I was 11. I learned never to bother talking to anyone about it. They would just make it worse.
I’m so sorry that happened.
Oh no. They will be begging for the sweet release of death when I’m through with them.
I finally tried to kill my father. Obviously, I failed. I was 19 and I'd come home to do laundry. He demanded dinner, I told him I was leaving (I'd been on my own for two years before that - my mother kicked me out because she thought the police might believe me). ...///... That was the last time he ever hit me. He shoved me back against the kitchen counter, and when I fell he was lining up to kick me. I came back at him with a knife. I was done. I made the decision to kill him, no matter what he did to me. He looked into my eyes for a split second, then left. He knew I meant to do it. ...///... However...I'm 5'8" and at the time, I weighed about 118 pounds. He was 6'2" and about 200 pounds. The only knife in reach was a bread knife that didn't even have a point to it. ...///... I was beyond all reason. However, he not only never touched me again, he never spoke to me and if I came into a room, he left. ...///... I won.
But it would be a step in the right direction
@Aragorn thank you

Something like this happened in my town in the late 80s. There were three russian guys living in our town. They were living a peaceful life doing a small construction and lown mowing business and no one cared about them. One day evening, at a local store parking lot, a local goon came drunk and started beating his teenage son in front of everyone. This guy was a pure criminal and ex convict, he was in prison for armed robbery, his wife left him because of his abusive character, he was living with his son and he used to beat him for no reason. Everyone knew this and none had the courage to stop him.
At that time, these russian guys were coming after work, they saw this happening, they walked in and asked him to stop. But he didn't stop and called them names thinking they will step back, but the opposite happened. In a moment they jumped on him, overpowered him and started beating him into pulp, he even lost some teeth. Goon's friend came to help him and showed a gun, but guess what, one russian guy pulled out a even bigger gun, and that person got scared and away. The goon couldn't even stand and was crawling on the ground pleading to stop beating.
Cops came and took the goon into custody, people there told to cops that it was a gang fight and some people in the mask attacked him, thereby saving russian guys. The goon couldn't walk properly after that incident, couldn't even urinate for sometime. He was in prison for sometime and eventually left the town. Russian guys were like heroes in our little town, but some were scared of them. Few months after this incident, those russian guys closed their business and disappeared overnight. Later we learned from cops that they actually knew it was the russian guys who beat the goon and decided not to file a case as those guys were ex-mob members put under some witness protection program.
Update: Upon discussing with my friends I learned that he didn't leave the town on his own. Actually he and his wife were not legally separated, he simply kicked that poor lady out of the house and she was staying with her sister few miles away, and the boy was working part time at that store. While the goon was in prison, she got help from a local attorney and filed the divorce. She got the house and custody of the boy, and the goon was barred from entering the house, thats why he left the town. Thanks to Ms Forty Seven for pointing this out.
What happened to the teenage boy in the end? Who became his guardian?
HI RJ, I couldn't reply after your last thread, so will do so here. Your story is fantastic and would make a great movie!
hahaha, you be the director, I'll pen the script.
What happened to the teenage boy? Who took him in?
The update said that the mother got custody and took him back.
