Art In Altoid Tins: 45 Landscapes And Cityscapes And Occasional Coffee Cups Painted By This Plein Air Artist (New Pics)
When you think of a painting, it is most likely that you visualize something you can hang on a wall. Well, not in this case.
Remington Robinson does his painting on Altoids can lids, meaning that the paintings are both small and are meant to be displayed on a flat surface. Robinson is also a master of plein air paintings that are drawn outdoors. So, usually, the artist is inspired by beautiful landscapes, cityscapes, and, from time to time, a coffee cup.

No it doesn't. He's not even painting on the container. He's painting on a piece of paper...
Load More Replies...shut the f**k up thats so good. i wish i had the patience to learn how to paint or the money for art school lol
Trust me they don't teach you how to art in art school ... They make you attend so many at history courses you could automatically get a minor in history 🤦♀️ and I'm so bad at history 😬 good thing is I already knew how to art
Load More Replies...🤣 OMG how is no one laughing at this! It literally took TIME... Because it's dawn in the painting and obviously not dawn in the photo
Load More Replies...Love it! (But falling coconuts kill 150 people a year. Be careful pandas!)
Not sure why that was downvoted so take my upvote to get you back to zero. It’s true that falling coconuts kill more people annually than sharks kill. And if you’ve ever seen a freshly harvested coconut in real life, you’d understand why. The outer husks are massive.
Load More Replies...I like paintings of roads...to somewhere, anywhere. They inspire imagination in me.
I’m wondering how much time they were stuck in that area to do this
My guess is he took a photograph of the scene and has it developed. Then did the small painting on a little piece of canvas, using the tin as a pallet. Put the painting in the tin and then took a picture of it in front of the original photograph.
Load More Replies...There are so many of these! I bet this guy’s breath smells awesome all the time.
The person who painted these needs to be in the world record book
In this one the background kind of looks like a painting too. Am I going crazy?
All the snowy places bare-handed, and here he wears a glove. This guy is MYSTERIOUS.
The guy on the horse is literally on the right hand side in the background
Load More Replies...This reminds me of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona. camelback-...54a94d.jpg
They look like pea-sized dollops of paint. Not sure how much less he could use.
Load More Replies...This looks so much the the mountain ranges a few hours away from me, I did a double take. Then I realised the trees there aren't that tall (or cut to make room for the cable car)
I think this one was painted on February 31 of 2000. (At 12:41 Local Canadian time.)
I like seeing the paint dallops in the tin to see which colors were used. Some of them are done with non still images, which requires a good imagination.
These are ALL so beautiful. It would have been repetitive to comment on each one. I'd run out of words meaning amazing. Little works of art. Very talented artist.
Anyone wishing to attempt this. I’ve seen these types of tins (empty) on Temu and Amazon. You don’t have to ingest copious amounts of the worlds strongest mint to do this.
Ah... That explains the comments about his breath. I couldn't figure out why on earth people kept commenting "his breath must smell amazing" because I actually bought a similar tin that had bobby pins in it 😅
