Meet Meepo, The Crazy Cat Who Loves Taking Showers

We adopted Meepo when he was two months old. The boy is a British Longhair cat with a typical long coat of fur, so it’s a real mission for us to keep this fluff cotton ball clean, especially when we are living in a place with hot and humid climate.

At first, we were worried that Meepo would not like water like most other cats and it would be difficult to bathe him without having some scratches on our arms. But Meepo surprised us by being so calm and even chillax during the process and enjoyed letting the water run through his fur and wash away the dirt. He also loves playing around with stuff in the bathroom and be very happy there. Now, we are giving him a pamper session in the shower every Saturday to remain his fabulous and adorable look.

I had a cat that was obsessed with water, she'd always run in the shower as soon as she heard the water and even jumped in the pond to catch fish :D

My dad used to have a cat named Squeaky, actually named that because he liked baths too. He was always squeaky clean! You couldn't have a bath or shower without Squeaky, and if you did, he would keep bothering you until you took him into a bath.

My cat likes to watch the toilet when you flush. If she isn't in the bathroom, sometimes I yell, "Zoe water go down the hhhhhoooooolllee" and she'll come running.

He is gorgeous! Most cats will allow you to bath them if you start them out when they are very young. I got my first kitten to love the water by taking bubble baths. He loved to sit on the edge of the tub and play with the bubbles. One day, I lifted him off the edge and put him on my chest. Then we started playing with the bubbles. While he was so engrossed, I slowly started to cup water and get his hind end wet. Little by little, we did this until he got so used to it, water wasn't a problem. Soon, I'd find him in the bathroom sink, laying under the faucet, because it dripped. He loved that!

Actually, cats love water. They are so stubborn, however, that if you force them into the water, they hate it. That is why the myth that cats hate water started.

I believe the reason might be the climate you mention - water makes it feel refreshed.
