The Viral Twitter Fight about Patton Oswalt’s Spouse
No doubt, finding our other half brings happiness into our lives. Celebrities or not, we’re all humans who want to share the rest of our lives with our loving partner. But, when they pass away, can we find our other half again? Sadly, this turned into a burning debate on Twitter about Patton Oswalt’s spouse.
Oswalt was previously married to Michelle McNamara, the mother of his little girl, Alice before she tragically passed away in her sleep in 2016. Patton Oswalt’s first wife, Michelle McNamara, was a brilliant crime writer who left a book unfinished. Heartbroken and in grief, Patton had to continue with his life after Michelle McNamara died in her sleep. He also shared the excitement of finishing and publishing his first wife’s novel in his Tweets.
But celebrating good memories of beloved people no longer in life doesn’t mean tying yourself to the past and stopping living your life in the present. This is what Patton Oswalt did. 18 Months after the death of Patton Oswalt’s wife, he remarried the beautiful actress Meredith Salenger. And if you’re wondering, they didn’t meet on set. They first connected on Facebook over a missed dinner of their mutual friend. He found hope and happiness in Meredith, and they have been married since 2017. However, not everyone welcomed this new happy chapter in Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger’s personal life.
Patton Oswalt and his wife Meredith celebrated their first anniversary in a sweet and cheesy Twitter exchange in 2018. Still, one guy decided to mess with their happiness with a rude and insensitive remark. No one knows his true reasons for commenting negatively on someone else’s happiness (celebrity or not). Still, he got the response that his comment deserved. People applauded Oswalt’s comeback while adding their own thoughts on the matter. This is how it turned into a viral fight on Twitter.

Share on FacebookI read somewhere that men who were happily married tend to remarry if their spouse dies. Mr. Oswalt went through one of the most traumatic experiences I can imagine (his wife died in her sleep). He deserves all the happiness he can find.
Who the heck would downvote this? It's totally true (and super nice, BTW).
Load More Replies...good to know… i'll tell my mom who lost her husband and my father when he hung himself few years ago that she should consult him before trying to meet someone who could filled her life...
I'm sorry Kjorn. That's a loss no one should have to endure. Hugs to you and your mom!
Load More Replies...I lost love of my life many years ago. I cried and suffered for years after that! I wish I had moved on and found a beautiful love like this man did. God sent him a new chance to be happy again and that´s the best for a broken heart.
I have some health issues that make it very likely that I'll pass long before my wife. I absolutely want her loved and cared for. If the is an after life I PROMISE you I will be guiding someone amazing for my wife to share her life with to her.
You can spend your life on Twitter writing stupid and/or offensive comments or you could actually live a real life. It's sad that a lot of people seem to think that the first is more important than the latter. What's the fun in hurting people you don't even know?
Patton Oswalt cannot seem to win with idiots on the Twitterverse. First there were the folks who deemed it too soon for Oswalt to remarry after his wife's death and now, some troll thinks it's 'creepy' that he was able to find happiness after such a loss. Hey, Mike Galli, you should read more of Patton Oswalt's posts and tweets about his late wife before you pass any judgement. You'll learn: How much he adored her when she was alive. How utterly shattered he was when she suddenly passed away. How he thought he would be alone for the rest of his life because well, you can't possibly get that kind of love more than once, right? Mike Galli, I am sorry you lost your sister but I doubt she would want you to believe that happiness was something that was creepy.
Fun fact: It it possible, to love more than one person at the same time. Not only two kids, but also two women. It is possible, to love the first and feel the lost. And to find love again at the same time with the second one. Love is infinite. When will people start to see that?
