“One myth is that if you’re a creative person, it’s a trait and everything you touch turns to gold. That’s not the way creativity works. It’s not some magical trait,” Dr. Sawyer said in an interview with Washington University.

We should put these in a new thread and have a Halloween costume contest. This is up there as a winner for creative and originality.
Dr. Sawyer adds that many people tend to perceive creative people as “lone geniuses” when in reality, it all comes down to networking. As he explained, creativity often happens through collaborating with like-minded individuals. He used the creation of a powerhouse software application like Microsoft Windows.
“There’s a large staff, grouped into a complex organizational arrangement, and each programmer and designer makes an essential creative contribution.”

Among her suggestions were swapping your desk chair for a stability ball, going on a different jogging path, or taking a bath instead of a shower.
“Think about the things you do on a daily basis and ask yourself why you do them that way,” she advises. “Breaking everyday boxes will keep your mind flexible.”

I'm a seamstress at a drycleaners,a woman came in with 16 pillowcases for me to sew together like this, suggest if you want to do this use zigzag stitch to connect them all, especially if they're cheap pillowcases, otherwise they are too small for the pillows

My cat got a cone first. She just wiggled and fought hard so it came off. Even the vet couldn't put it on her so it stayed on. So we tried with a cat-onesie.... she also wiggled that off. She does NOT want anything "weird" on her body, it seems. I wonder if a neck pillow like on your picture would have been better.

I love this idea. It doesn't have to cost too much, either, as books can be bought at thrifts stores and yard sales. (Just carefully check them for bugs. But that's not a super common issue as you might think.)

Mine are obsessed with my sink for some reason. So I put a bowl of water with toy swimming fish in it. Keeps them entertained for hours. They also like watching ice cubes melt. Yeah, they're weird! 😂

I have that as part of my daily calendar / to do list: 4 lines that I strive to fill with thinks to be grateful for. Sometimes it's something big. Sometimes it's "the cat lying sleeping in the sun". Especially having to "find" something opens your eyes for the small blessings.

Every year my mom got us new PJs for Xmas and let us open them on Xmas eve. We do the same thing for my niece and nephew now too. Mom and I have the best time picking out funny pajamas. 😊

We do this every year and we also add a fun game to play, such as a board game or dobble. The kids look forward t it almost as much as the Christmas stocking on Christmas morning. (My dogs also get a mini version, which they really appreciate - chaotic, but such fun). Xx

As one gets older, it is harder to keep one’s dignity with your body falling apart and accomplishing anything is such a struggle. I love this idea of a pseudo bib. It can be made pretty, attractive, distinctive, etc. This gives respect to the person wearing it because it shows you care about their feelings. Humans like to look nice, no matter how old they are.

It’s a common piece of equipment in montisouri nurseries and in dementia homes. I believe you can buy similar things on amazon. My dad is in a dementia homes and used to love playing with them and the cloth version of the board.

This is so great. Should be in every home with a toddler and preschooler. I would even make one with buttons to button, laces to tie, zippers to zip, clasps to clasp. Children really need to practice their fine motor skills. It's not something that can be taught from a screen.
