I Use Innovative Technique Of Painting On Glass… In 3D

Over 20 years ago, I was struggling to make ends meet and needed to decide whether to stick with my dream of supporting my family as an artist or getting a 9 to 5 job.

One morning, sitting in my studio – I got it! I called my wife (who is an artist herself) and told her about my idea – painting on multiple levels of glass. The following week we took some pieces I made to a show and sold out! :)

Each painting includes several layers of glass separated by interior frames. The depth creates a game of hide-and-go-seek. Light and shadow create the illusion of movement.

I’d like to offer all you, Bored Panda viewers, 50% OFF any of our Limited Edition paintings. Coupon code: BOREDPANDA and the offer stands until June 7th.

Your art is beautiful. Not sure who 'invented' this technique, but I bought a piece similar with 4 layers in Equidor in 2015.

Definitely influenced by the masters, though I think the artist who had inspired me above all others is Bob Dylan :)

The first thing that captures my attention is the way you use the first pane to extend the piece beyond the mat frame around the work.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment! I usually start working with the middle level of glass and work my way forward and back, building up the image to maximalize the depth :)

Hi, I have just created account only to be able to write you, that I love your art. Not so much because of the technique (although the 3D effect is amazing). What I love most about it is the style of your painting, the things you paint, it speaks to me...

I would love to see these paintings in real! This is breathtaking, so magical... I have goosebumps. What makes this even more special for me, is the fact that I know what it's like to paint on glass. You have to do everything "in reverse", which adds an extra layer of difficulty, but in the end, the result is absolutely out of this world!

Beautiful artwork! I especially love the window views. Do you have a collection on display anywhere besides your studio (like in museums or galleries where the pieces are sold)? Also curious how often a pane of glass breaks while you're still painting... but you probably are very carefully not to let that happen. Cheers from Boston MA!

Hi! I've loved your work! I already wanted to do that, but I haven't found in my country (Argentina) such a product to paint glass. Could yo tell me which are the pencil you use? Maybe I can buy them somewhere else. Thanks!

Hi! When I'm working out the design I like to use DecoColor extra fine tip paint markers. For some colors I use enamel paint. Often I use acrylic as well.
