We are often bombarded with fear-mongering and shocking headlines that make us feel that the world is falling apart.

However, while it’s important to report on problems and issues, I believe there is so much good in this world that it needs to be found and promoted just as widely.

This is especially true after the last few years we have had with COVID, political, and social unrest, and seemingly more negative headlines than we care to count.

Because of that, I started The Happy Broadcast. It's an anti-venom to the vitriolic rhetoric that pervades our media. Also, this year, I’ve illustrated even more happy news than in the previous years and our app WHOLE is bringing more joy and positivity in the world!

Consuming positive news is one known activity that can boost your outlook and mood. We need more positive news to acknowledge that the world is actually getting better little by little. So, with that said, here are some of the top performing positive news illustrations from 2022.

You can find my previous articles about The Happy Broadcast on Bored Panda, here (2021), here (2020)here (coronavirus), and here (2019).

This project was born as a way to deal with negativity-induced anxiety and in time I’ve realized that the only way to overcome this anxiety is through action and hope. So the goal of the project is to inspire and educate.

While not ignoring the bad news, I search and consume the stories of the people that rally together to help in a time of need. I share their stories and find ways I can support them and make sure they can do more. That’s what The Happy Broadcast is. Instead of getting overwhelmed by the bad in the world, we celebrate and get inspired by the millions of people that have shown us that we can all have a positive impact.

Some people tell us that there’s no hope and that the world is about to end. My answer is that there will always be hope as long as there’s action. We can’t just sit and hope. We can’t just witness what’s wrong in the world and hope that someone else will fix it. Whether it is sending money, showing your support or taking to social media to call for help and donations, help in a big or small way is what I believe will turn people’s anxiety into a healthier and positive reaction.

So let's turn the negative into a positive!

I also have an app called WHOLE. WHOLE is a self-care mobile app that leverages science-backed techniques to help people build and maintain healthy habits... oh, and it’s also free and fun. The main features of WHOLE include daily mood tracking, social journaling, and a habit builder aimed at helping us develop and maintain behaviors that lead to better mental health.

We created the app because we felt the need of a simple mental health companion, offering content and tools to help develop habits that can lead towards a happier life.

During the year 2022, I loved the news of an autonomous drone that saved its first heart attack patient in Sweden by delivering a defibrillator three minutes after the alarm was raised.

The drone is part of Everdrone’s Emergency Medical Aerial Delivery Service – an experimental program being run in certain regions of Sweden that automatically dispatches drones carrying defibrillators to suspected cardiac events.

The program is an attempt to address the issue of wait times for emergency services to arrive to cardiac events, where every minute is crucial to survival.

It would be nice if there were still buses running! In a great many rural areas - where you would be most likely to see bees - no buses run any more.

With all of that being said, besides my current projects, I also love to cook and travel. Especially after COVID, I felt the need to see more of the world and meet more people and discover more cultures. And of course, try new foods!:)

Do you know who gave the most money to this cause? A coalition of American universities that include but are not limited too: Auburn, LSU, Missouri, Memphis, and Clemson. What do these schools have in common? They all have "Tigers" as their mascot.

The Infrastructure needa to be in place to support this and our current infrastructure projects do not align. A car park being built.may come.with 10% of spaces being EV. Even then they arent necessarily going to be rapid charging. Then its not just as simple as wiring more in as you need the network to be able to cope so you need to upgrade the electrical infrastructure significantly. Thats before we even get onto people being able to afford these cars and the environmental impact of constructing them.

The Dutch city of Haarlem will soon be the first city in the world to ban the advertising of meat products in public places. The ban was proposed last year by the party GroenLinks and will take effect in 2024. The move is intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
