I Am A Visual Artist Who Photographs Poetic Old Objects And My Five Pet Rats / Assistants.

My artworks are soft and soothing , the colors are not agressive and the elements I choose to photograph in them are very evocative. I am a professional artist who lives in the town of Mont -Laurier, in the Upper Laurentians in Quebec, Canada . I create, in each of my artworks a poetic world.

The artworks in these series are mixed media on canvas. To carry out these works, I worked my canvases with acrylic paint and lace as a stencil. Then, I worked with photographs of objects and elements of nature that I digitally combined using a software before printing them on paper. I then use an image transfer technique so the digital part of my work can be printed on my canvas. I then draw numbers and drawings with graphite before sealing and protect the work with a matte acrylic varnish.

For me, the old objects that I use all hold a secret or a mysterious story that intrigues me. The shape of the branches and dried plants, associated with these old objects, creates a poetic contrast that is peaceful to me. I then add lace, which represents for me the ultimate ornamentation. They remind me of the frills of the Baroque era, an era that I love. Numbers and codes are for me an enigmatic need that I have to classify, identify and fictitiously index my collections of objects.

Since receiving my Bachelor degree in Art and Design, Visual Arts concentration, from the Université du Québec en Outaouais in 2008, my career has flourished. My artworks quickly became a part of many private and public collections, including the Loto-Québec Collection, the Cirque du Soleil Collection and the Artwork Loan Collection from the Laurentians Contemporary Museum of Art. I have also presented my artwork in solo and group exhibitions throughout Quebec. I have received numerous awards including the prestigious Distinction honorifique in 2013 from the Université du Québec en Outaouais. This award was given to me in recognition of my remarkable emergence in the art sector, for the great distinction of my professional activities and my contribution to society.

I have loved the arts since I was very young. My parents encouraged me by buying me art supplies for Christmas and for my birthday, to my great joy. I have a background in the arts and I worked in an exhibition center for many years. I discovered the world behind the scenes and I have met several artists with whom I could share the journey. Now I work full time as a professional artist and I continue to learn and develop myself personally and professionally. This is what I have always wanted to do and I cannot imagine doing anything else. Now I am happy to sell my artwork, to show my artwork in exhibitions, tell my story by writing and speaking about my experience, and create art projects.
