I hope this is a joke. However, the one comment that if the roles were reversed, people would be yelling "emotional spousal abuse", is very true. It does happen to men as well as women, just not as reported. But I do hope this is a joke.

I've spent decades working with women and children (and a few men) affected by domestic violence. Here's the thing with all of this: This is abuse! If a man was ordering his wife in this manner, we would recognize him as controlling and his behavior as abusive. Emotional abuse is violence. Just because you don't have bruises does not negate the impact of this type abuse. For any partner to be this controlling is beyond unhealthy and well into sickness. This has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with lack of trust and a very unhealthy relationship. There is nothing funny or amusing here.

If this is true, I have one...ok many things I could say. First, my wife and I are a Christian family, and neither she nor I would EVER impose such ridiculous garbage on a simple outing. This is showing plain stupidity, and lack of respect for each other. If my wife did this (and I know for a fact that she would not, it is called trust) it would be over simply because to get to that point means we have already lost everything else. I disagree with divorce, but I married my best friend, my better half, my confidant. She knows what I would and would not do, and accepts it. Just as I do her. so my parting comment here: I sure hope that this is attention getting and fake. Otherwise some people here would need some serious help.

The only good thing about this "trend" is that people are trying to find animals to save, so they can film it hoping to go viral. Also, if this was a ironic twist on an "overprotective groom", which I would totally understand and support, it's done badly.

Yeah, another post that is so wrong on so many levels. First of all, you don't get to "allow" your husband to do anything. He's a f*****g adult - which is how you discuss things - like adults. If you don't trust your husband to go to a bachelor party without a) getting drunk, b) taking drugs or c) having sex with a stripper you have a lot more problems than just your overbearing control issues. Seek therapy, like now.

I hope her hubby said F**k you and went, tuned his phone off, drank some alcohol, smoked a cigar or two, gambled away their life savings, hung out with strippers, drove a fast car (before drinking) and had a ball! I'm thinking that if her husband "play wrestles" with other men enough for her to mention it that he's not likely to be tempted by (female) strippers. Closets may be involved here and she subconsciously realizes it.
