I am doing a little rennovation in my house (just part of the furniture). I have in mind things that I want by I am not sure should I built it (DIY projects) or buy new one, already manufactured.

Money is not the problem as I calculated the price is similar. What do you consider when doing this things? Do you just buy the first thing that you see and don't want to lose any time or do you look and research for half a year then decide?

Also, when buying something do you go by your gut feeling that and just buy something? Or do you think how you can use it in 5-6 years and maybe change it's purpose?

Usually you travel from furniture store to furniture store until your girlfriend decides this other furniture the other store (You know, the one you dont remember going to cause you 'checked out' an hour and a half into this adventure) is going to look the best. So you go with that only to realize in 6 months the furniture you bought is c**p, and its all your fault. The End.
