I think Ellen being a jerk was the worst kept secret in Hollywood yet somehow the general public were shocked to find out.
No epstein here though? I mean ellen seemed mean from start but in comparison to the redacted files scum??
Justin Timberlake is a horrible human. Not sure how it was overlooked for so long, he was very obvious. Britney and Janet were made to look like they did something wrong. Yet it took him cheating on his anti-vaxer wife before anyone called him out.
People love gossip, especially all the buzz in Hollywood. They get a weird thrill from peeking into celebs’ lives through a tweet or post. Hearing rumors can almost give them a false sense of intimacy with a superstar. And social media also plays a role by turning celebs into relatable figures.
According to a global study that surveyed 148,398 people across 19 English-speaking countries, Gen Z is 12 times more obsessed with celebrities than their parents’ generation. Back then, social platforms were fewer, and celebs didn’t get as much attention. But now, their Facebook or Instagram accounts are like an easily accessible window into their lives.
MBB is being exploited and has terrible stage parents continuing to let it happen. I really genuinely worry for her after all that's happened last week.
Bitter-Genuine-Truth:
MBB is exploited tremendously. Her parents don't give a damn cause they see her as a cow to be milked. Drake's a creep towards her. I just hope she doesn't end up like Lindsay Lohan.
This may be obvious to us but I don't think most people realise that Julia Roberts is renowned in Hollywood as a very unpleasant person to work or deal with.
Indulging in celebrity gossip isn’t always toxic, because gossip is basically sharing social information. In fact, Stuart Fischer, an emeritus professor of media psychology at UCLA, claims that sometimes preoccupation with celebrities’ lives can actually benefit our psychology. He believes that it’s really helpful for people who lack social skills, as they can use celebrity secrets and fandoms to form bonds.
“If they weren’t going to be interacting with people otherwise, this makes them at least have a social relationship they didn’t have before. So it’s making the best out of a bad deal, psychologically,” Fischer adds.
There were jokes in the comedy scene about Cosby hurting women for years before Hannibal Buress made his joke. I heard about it on an episode of the Dollop in an of the hand remark about a year before everything came to light. Hell, Hannibal had been using that joke for months on his tour and it wasn't until the footage came online that the ball started rolling.
My mom was at a luncheon with her good friend who has a son who’s a producer in LA. He stopped by and the women were asking for serious gossip. My mom asked him the question above. His response wasn’t just that Cruise is gay. It’s that he likes young boys. Really young. A couple of years later I was telling my coworker about it. He says “‘my uncle was his driver. He stopped because Cruise was always picking up young boys. Really young.”
Dan Schneider being, at the very least, a complete jerk whose presided over a super-unhealthy environment for all the young actors he worked with.
That being said, we can’t ignore that there’s a dark side as well. Some people are unhealthily infatuated with Hollywood and go to extreme lengths just for a rumor.
According to PsychCentral, celebrity worship syndrome is a type of parasocial relationship that occurs when admiration of a celebrity shifts into an obsessive fascination and preoccupation. Although it is not a clinically recognized condition, it has been described as an obsessive-addictive disorder.
Man, I'm surprised the rampant steroid use in A list Hollywood action stars hasn't made this list. It's REAL hard to look and perform stunts like a superhero once you're past 40, no matter how good your trainer/regimen is. When a friend in Hollywood told me this, I literally responded "Whaaaaaa! No! ::surprised Pikachu face::" but 30 seconds of thought and it's, like... Oh, yeah, duh, that scans.
James Corden being a jerk.
They shut down the J Cole and P Diddy fight and deleted all footage when that happened in 2013. Only recently have people started talking about it
Lore time: Kendrick Lamar had a verse on a Big Sean song called Control. In it he calls himself the king of New York (he’s not from there but NY tastemakers were suuuuper helpful for his career before he blew up) and the west coast. He also called out like 15 rappers by name and said he was better than them in a friendly competition way. Everyone named, except Drake, took it well and either didn’t respond or responded to it in a joking way.
Now the fight. At an industry after party, a drunk Diddy, who had an issue with an LA based rapper calling himself the king of New York, came up to Kendrick and poured liqour on his head. Cole stepped in and said something like “this is why an artist can’t step out the box, you’ll [end] them like you [ended] Tupac”. And then hands were thrown. All footage was deleted since this was a biiig industry event.
However, there’s no denying that Hollywood has tried to sweep some ugly truths under the rug. From crimes to cheating scandals or just outright lies, the list is pretty endless. But every time they hide something, the whispers don’t just fade away.
Instead, secrecy adds to the pizzazz, and people feel like they must know what happened. It’s like the forbidden fruit effect. The more they hide, the deeper people want to dig and find out. And when the world is obsessed with the truth, secrets can hardly stay buried for long.
Selena Gomez’s substance use. it’s honestly surprising that more people haven’t put two and two together because I feel like everyone in the celebrity gossip and stan world knows.
Kevin Spacey's predatory behavior towards young guys.
Family Guy made a joke about Stewie being stuck in Spacey's basement.
That joke was made a LONG time ago, well before he was exposed. To be clear, it is the "young" part that is troubling, not the male part. But if you use the word "boy" or "girl" it is more than troubling.
J-Lo stealing other people’s songs, lip syncing to their lyrics, and then passing it off as her own.
Research shows the global movies and entertainment market was valued at $112.9 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to $120.8 billion in 2026. Also, the market in North America dominated, with a revenue share of 33.9% in 2025.
While Hollywood might be a billion-dollar industry, it is built on illusion, with dark secrets dominating the scenes behind all the glitz and glamor. The more we learn about these celebrities, the more we realize they are just as human as all of us, and putting them on a pedestal can be problematic.
I feel like the real details of Katie leaving Tom are still not fully known and probably won’t be with all the NDAs and Scientology stuff. But, I’ve always been fascinated by the unknown details. And honestly to a lesser degree the Nicole and Tom divorce.
Maybe it's too dark for this question, but it's possible Christopher Walken knows what really happened to Natalie Wood.
When we revere celebrities, we strip away their humanity, which can enable bad behavior. Studies have shown that celebrity worship is correlated with poor mental health and maladaptive behaviors.
It also harms celebs because they are always pressured to be flawless. It can be suffocating when they are forced to suppress their authenticity just to please their fans. And it can be anxiety-inducing always to pretend to be someone they are not.
This is more of a rant but I really don’t get the point of Bey and Jay’s relationship… he’s such a notorious cheater starting from rumors with Rihanna back in 2007. I know y’all are gonna say oh that might’ve just been a gossip but there’s too many stories to pass it as a silly rumor. I also found out about stories from multiple sources that they sleep in separate rooms and have a cold relationship. I mean they can definitely co-parent and if they separated they’d have enough money. Just weird..
The resurgence of Transcendental Meditation as a Hollywood thing is interesting. Russell Brand talks about it a lot. As do Jerry Seinfeld and Howard Stern.
Well, it just makes me wonder what goes through their minds when rumors and gossip about them keep swirling around on the internet. What are your thoughts on it? Feel free to drop them in the comments. Also, if you were intrigued by this list, you might enjoy reading these Hollywood secrets exposed by people who worked with celebrities!
Not sure if it was revealed - correct me if I am wrong - but Richard Simmons abruptly shutting down his studio and becoming a recluse. People speculate but Richard never really came out and said why, right?
Funny and not interesting at all secret but still want to know category: Rihanna’s beef with Kendall Jenner, Beyoncé and Katy Perry (this last one being distance between them two).
Morgan Freeman can do no wrong.
He had an affair w his step granddaughter that tan for awhile. I also remember reading an Australian director’s autobiography and he worked with him and had to take him for several lunches in LA and Morgan just blatantly staring at the butts or flirting with the waitresses (who were also slightly creeped out) even though he was very much married.
I don't know if it's even a secret anymore but Johnny Depp's severe substance and alcohol problem.
Didn't that Italian woman, Elisabetta, blow Clooney's cover when she said in an interview after her gig was up "He was just like a father to me and nothing more.." BURN! She must have found a loophole in the contract. LOL. She always did look kind of repulsed by him when she schlepped the red carpets with him, never smiling and no chemistry between them. No chemistry with any of his red carpet "dates' actually including the current one he had to marry after his unfortunate incident in Italy.
What happened on the set of the good wife.
I just remembered this one: pretty much all 2010s emo bands were either sleeping with each other or preying on teenage girls.
Not sure if this is still a secret, but I want to know what happened behind the scenes with Rocketman, the pool of olive oil, and the gagging order behind it.
Everyone knew about Spacey, which is how I found House of Cards showrunner & Netflix's denial of coverup so lazy and shameless.
Who doesn't love some unsubstanciated trash rumours. Love that Rutuja Dumbre calls herself a 'writer'. Though I suppose she does a good line in fiction.
The vaguer, the better. Some of these are very much W*F are you on about.
Load More Replies...Wow. A bunch of "secrets" that are only partially referred to without actually saying anything about said 'secret'. These Hollywood secrets are safe 🙄
