A Local Legend In My Area. "Pretzel Pete" Was An Albanian Muslim Wwii-Pow Who Immigrated To America And Was Known For Selling Pretzels. More Information Of His History In The Caption

For anyone interested this was the information included in the original Reddit post The Pretzel Man's name was Choban Hoxha. He was an Albanian Moslem who was captured by the Fascists in WWII and placed in a prison camp. At the end of the war, he was captured by the Communists who took him to a labor camp in Russia. Somehow, he managed to escape, made his way to Istanbul, and from there (again, somehow) found passage to America. In the early 1960s, he came to Roxborough and there he stayed for the rest of his life.

My favourite is actually a german one, which translates somewhat to: "Don't give me that look, I too would rather lay on the beach"! :D

Pretty sure it's austrian. Germany does not really allow funny quotes on gravestones.
