While puns and dad jokes have gotten a bad rep over the years - most people react with a groan or an eye-roll instead of the intended laugh - there are many of us who believe that the appeal of this misunderstood comedy genre actually lies in its inherent cheesiness.
As a writer, I can't think of anything more satisfying than a well-timed, multi-faceted pun. Clever and creative word-play - dished up with the wink and a nod of someone that doesn't take themselves too seriously - is just the kind of thing to tickle my funny bone. And if this story is anything to go by, there are millions of you out there that agree!
Colorado native Vince Rozmiarek is the man behind these hilariously creative roadside signs, which showcase the kind of laugh/cringe humor that only dads seem to really excel at. What started as an April Fools' prank has put him and his town, Indian Hills, firmly on the map, with a Facebook page dedicated to the sign having over 90k followers worldwide!

"It all began 5 years ago, on Aprils fools day, when I put up a street sign that stirred up the area," Vince told Bored Panda in an earlier interview.
"We have a heavy police presence in the town of Morrison, which is next to Indian Hills, and they run a ton of speed traps traffic signs. The sign said, 'Indian Hills annexed by Morrison, slow down.' Many people believed that prank, and the amount of attention it brought was really surprising."
From then on, Vince decided to put bad puns and jokes up a couple of times a week. "I also try to create unique holiday puns/sayings, and current events that I feel are important. It is hard to keep coming up with the material, but I do try" he said, explaining that the reason he does it is straightforward – he likes to make people laugh.
Do you appreciate this"so bad it's good" kind of humor? Make sure you check out the sign's dedicated Facebook page to keep up to date on the latest and join in too - the puns and jokes that the signs inspire in the comments are just as good as the original!
