Christmas Eve 2007. Took half a bottle of pain pills. Called my friend (now husband) to chat and then went to bed. I figured if I woke up, then I’d tell him how I felt. If I didn’t then it wouldn’t matter. Married 14 years in August. I guess I’m not great at offing myself. Or maybe I wasn’t serious about it.
