Hey Pandas, what's the worst school trip you've been on?

Oh boy, this'll be a good one. I have two.

So, we were going to the Motown Museum for a trip. This was back in the 2010s. We were on two buses. One of the buses got separated from the other and went through one of the most sketchy parts of Detroit you can imagine. There was literally a guy with a knife standing in the alleyway. The teacher was freaked out. One kid stole about 600 dollars worth of stuff from the museum and made everyone be searched and patted down. During lunch, a kid snuck outside and walked down to Starbucks. Mind you, this is seventh graders.

The other one was on a trip to Lake Michigan. I'm not sure why, but the worst behaved kid in class ended up with the map to tell the driver where we were supposed to go. Being the class clown, he told the driver the wrong directions. We ended up almost 50 miles from where we were supposed to be. Then, the bus broke down and slid into a ditch. 42 3rd graders with two teachers was not fun. Eventually, another bus came and got us, but not after almost 3 hours in Michigan March weather.

We had an excursion to Melbourne CBD in year 7 and a teacher had to stop a guy from trying to buy illegal fireworks down an alley in Chinatown

In grade 6 we had a school camp to Canberra. The trip should have been about 7.5hrs but it took 21 hours and 13 minutes (some of the students actually timed it). We had to use three different busses, because of four breakdowns. The first breakdown occurred at a pit stop at the Ettamogah pub which is a tourist attraction. We were stuck out in the 30c+ heat and because it was a pub, we weren't allowed to wait inside. Then two break downs on the side of the highway and one when we stopped for dinner at Macdonalds. Because we got in to our accommodation at 2.30am we were allowed to sleep in one extra hour, meaning we missed going to the art gallery, one of the few things I wanted to see. The rest of the trip was mostly schoolwork, even during the fun attractions.
