We've all had our share of cooking/baking mishaps and there's no shame in it! For example, cooking rice for the first time in university and accidentally making enough for a small army.

Oh my! Good thing it was just one? That skin is relentless. Nice to stab it a bunch with a fork or knife and inject some olive oil into it. Aletrnatively, cut it in half and slice up the flesh checkered-stlye without going through the skin (like a mango or avocado). Season with olive oil, salt and pepper then bake or fry it face down.

Once happened to me with a russet potato - thankfully, for some reason, it was super easy to clean.

There's little sachets of foul smelling powders that you mix with water to create paste and then shape like playdoh. There's also liquids that you drip into water. It was fun making them and fun watching him politely nibble the corner of one. I tried it and would rather eat actual play doh. We also made a fast food one once, burger, fries and coke, and that was more palatable.

When I was 15, I was put in charge of making two turkeys for Thanksgiving. Little did I know about temping multiple areas or ovens having different temperature zones. I also learned the pop up timers in birds are a lie! One bird was fine, the other made 5 people ill. Decades later, my food is much better and I own several different thermometers.

Several years ago, I wound up in the ER with an attack of Campylobacter from chicken breasts I had grilled, and which came out significantly underdone. The Campylobacter caused severe diarrhea, which *really* dehydrated me, which resulted in my kidneys shutting down. Fortunately, the doctors there really knew their stuff, and were able to get my kidneys rebooted with little trouble.

Haha I'm sure it tasted good at least. There's a sketch on SNL about a baking cake competition where the cakes turn out so much worse than expected and one of them is usually posessed by some dark entity, so it could always be worse!

Certain combinations create a slightly higher iron content when cooking a red wine reduction in some types of cast iron. Overwhelming taste of iron overpowered delicate taste of lamb :(

LOL. Like I said, they were a bit dry. I was aiming for moist and "spongy" just like in the picture. I might have mixed the fathead dough a bit too much and my oven is higher than most.

This post was presented for people to share their kitchen mistakes, despite their cooking experience. You're entitled to your opinion, but your delivery is banal and ignorant. BP has an international community so not everyone is going to have an ideal grasp of the English language and they certainly don't need to.
