Got your down vote finger ready? Ban automatic weapons except for the military. Not even cops, they can use tasers and rubber bullets. Yeah, I know those garage gunsmiths will rig something up, but its a start. automatic weapons make a person feel powerful and THAT is why its dangerous.

Bingo! Military-grade weapons don't even save soldiers in combat (see: any given war). They just give you a chance to spray-and-pray. Everyone *thinks* they'll be a bada** sniper in a melee, but the fact is, even the best-trained can be killed if ambushed by a putz with an AK. Keep the semi-auto and auto out of civilian hands. I've family who have to hunt for food, but they use a bolt-action single-shot. Y'know why? If you're actually a hunter, you know one shot will scare anything you don't hit. if you need more than one, GTFO the woods. (quoting my gramps yet again.)

Serious question here from a non American, I know it's in the US constitution you've got the right to bear arms but why can't they just make the ammunition really expensive or hard to get or illegal?

No, don't ban the automatic weapons - keep them legal, and have owners carry liability insurance for them. Then let the insurance companies fight to ban them. That would make them illegal in a heartbeat.

Military grade weapons were specifically designed for use in combat, NOT for everyday Americans! Ban the sales of ALL assault rifles, along with the ability to modify your firearms. What possible purpose are assault rifles for ANY gun owner? NONE!!! Mandatory Federal Gun law's in every state, age restrictions, Red flag laws, mandatory gun safety courses & every gun owner MUST be licensed. We must take & pass courses for a drivers license but NOT to purchase guns???? Federal mandatory processes on every gun purchase, including gun shows, a 72 hour waiting period as well as approval on a nationwide database. Those charged with domestic violence lose ownership of guns which must be turned in until trials prove innocent. Every gun owner must maintain gun safes in ALL homes which have minors! I could add so much more!!

I propose large fines to the manufacturer and whoever sold it whenever someone gets shot (even by police). If you made the gun or sold the gun you are responsible for what happens with it. "But, then places might not want to sell them." Okay. "But, prices will go up because of the fines." Okay. Both of those things will cause less guns to be out there. If you really want one, it will be hard to get and costly over time, but you can get one. I'm not, "taking your guns".

Churches aren't taxed because they don't provide goods or services. Their "income" is money freely given to them, after the giver has already been taxed on their income. So to tax a church is to double-tax income.

    Michael Largey
    Community Member

Former IRS employee here. Your analysis is flawed because (at least in the US) the giver can deduct his church contribution from his taxable income. So no double tax. (And if he uses the standard deduction, a certain amount of charitable contributions is used to figure the amount of the standard deduction.) The actual reason churches aren't taxed is that they are non-profit organizations, like the Red Cross or the American Cancer Society. Btw, if a church owns a for-profit asset, that for-profit asset pays income and property taxes just like any other business.

Funny, isn’t it? I remember my friends and me already coming up with a similar idea in primary school, ie that world leaders who want a war should be locked into a room together and made to fight it out. I remember feeling slightly naive at this, as if I was somehow missing something and thought that because I’m a child Im probably just not getting it. Now as an adult in my 40’s I still can’t see anything wrong with that idea. I very much suggest we give it a try.

I suggest the leaders of the warring nation be brought to a neutral country with huge sports arena. Each nation has their own designated seating section. The leaders are brought out in their underwear and given wooden bats which they club each other with until one leader either gets knocked unconscious. The loosing nation has to buy the winners dinner and a memorial plaque is hung on a wall of the arena. Everyone goes home.

In Australia it's compulsory to vote in state and federal elections and also in the rare referendums -- or at least to turn up and ensure your name is crossed off and you have received a voting slip and handed it in. Yes, some people do a donkey vote (ie merely number candidates in the order in which they appear on the voting slip), or do something else to make their vote invalid, or even hand in a slip without marking anything on it at all. Voting is a responsibility as well as a right. If you don't vote, you get fined (not much, admittedly). IMO, if you don't vote, you have no right to whinge.

Let people tell their stories. You may not agree with their conclusions, you may argue the facts, but let them talk. And when you talk, don't demand everyone believe 100% what you do, or see the same events 100% the same as you do. Intellectual breathing space and emotional room are vital for good mental health. Good use of language to avoid issues. Or, as the old logic teacher said back in school, truth always carries the weight of opinion. Facts merely exist.

Making it so that healthier food is more affordable and eating less meat as a species would make it so that the world can have better farming practices that actually benefit the earth and environment. Especially here in America, there is so much wrong with how we eat and how the food is produced. Healthier eating practices would lead to better farming practices, which leads to a healthier earth. With the amount of beef we eat in America, farmers that actually treat the animals and ecosystems well cannot produce fast enough to meet the demand on their own. If we change the way we eat, we could have a much healthier human race and a much healthier planet. If you made it this far into my rambling post, I appreciate your patience. Have a good day :)

The food industry is corrupt! All the toxic substances being placed in foods, allowed to be IN our food! FDA is not doing their job! And that’s not even talking about meat production…every person needs to demand only organic, non-GMO, foods. Boycott the c**p.

The FDA allows our foods to be toxic so that when we become unhealthy they get to double dip because we'll need more medication later.

In my home state of Alaska, we have food shortages, so a majority of our food comes from Alaska Farmers (where the slogan "Alaska Grown" comes from.) Because of this, it makes it so much more expensive for people living in Alaska to eat healthy fruits, veggies, or keep a vegan/vegetarian diet. We NEED to dramatically lower food prices so people in my home state can actually eat the food they want to. Especially in Native Alaskan communities!

Universal Basic Income and Medicare for All. Sorry, but all of the talk about living wages and good jobs just isn't going to work in the near future. Automation, AI and robotics will start replacing large swathes of workers in a diverse range of industries. The last McDonald's I went to no longer had cashiers, only kiosks to place an order. ChatGTP that everyone has heard so much about is only the beginning, not the peak. It would be much better to have UBI than to have 45% unemployment in a country that is floating in weapons.

This is my first post on BP but I'm ready to get downvoted into oblivion: Less hate. Not just the big three (Homophobia, racism, transphobia), but all hate. Stop hating religious people and then calling them homophobic racists who exist solely to destroy us gay people. The hate of today's world is fueled by the media posting "CrAzY ChRiStIaN lAdY throwing a tantrum because she got the wrong order " and refusing to elaborate topics such as "Sweet old Christian grandma bakes cookies for homeless shelter every Sunday". Don't give into the masses of the general public - There are bad Christians, and bad gay people. Don't generalise, be open-minded.

In Denmark you get a bit of money per child (up to 4th child, I think?) On a quarterly basis. This helps many families. In my family we use that money to save up for bigger celebrations for the kids and for renting a vacation home once per year (well, we pay the actual rent and the kids pay for the cleaning afterwards). So I think that the sufficient funding-thing could be avoided. Instead I want to replace it with therapy. I grew up with a narcisistic mom and that still has a toll on me emotionally. I have a history with depression, stress and anxiety. I can only hope that this doesn't impact too much on my kids. I think therapy should be a thing for ppl wanting to have kids but also for parents. Like an annual check-up where you went to see your therapist. If you needed it you could have 10 sessions per year for free to help you get on top of things in your mind so your kids would be less likely to need therapy as adults.

So poor people are denied families? They won't be loving, attentive parents because they are poor? No, that's wrong. Take a class, sure! Drug test, definitely! But no because of finances. What happens if they have kids & then become poor?

Would this be solely the mother, or both mother and father? What would happen if the father is proving unfit? What about teen moms who, despite their age, are getting ample supports and otherwise stable enough? What about cultures with differences of what would be considered the norm? Last time I checked, no you don't need a license, there are social workers your ob-gyn will make you speak to if they think there's any issues or instability in the home, even if things are actually okay, but just the environment isn't traditional enough for the ob-gyn's liking, or there's a past history of relatives being involved in social services, including as being in care as a child. Happened to me. At least I didn't get my daughter taken, but I've heard of others who have and a high proportion are Indigenous families getting ripped apart still, to the point hospitals had to get rid of birth alerts.

I have a few about how to change governments: Legistlative: Instead of Congress/Parliment, we have 100 seats on a Council, which each have their own criteria based on census data for the population and the percentage of certain groups in that country (i.e., 50/50 male/female, an amount of LGBTQ+/POC seats equivalent to the percentage of those individuals in the country, a wide spectrum of ages) Executive: No more parties, and CERTIANLY not an Electoral College or anything. Electoral College delegates aren't legally required to vote the way their state did, and I think its f****d up that you can win the popular vote and lose because of the Electoral College. Judicial: Judges are not allowed to have political parties. They must be isolated from any world events not relevant to the cases at hand to ensure impartial judgement. They also have to have served before, have a law degree, and not be allowed to physically see the defenant/plaintiff to prevent bias. The epitome of justice is blind. General: Amendments are always proposed by the people, no matter what. State laws are removed from the books IMMEDIATELY if a federal case deems them illegal. All prisons are government run, and must be checked regularly to insure that they are focused on rehabilitation, not punishment, and are HUMANE, SAFE, facilities for both the guard and inmates. I've said it before and I've said it again, I should be in charge of planning the government of a country, because I am discriminated against in a variety of ways and want to prevent others from facing the same.

If you want the power, you can't be trusted with it ------ my gramps. And it's "unconstitutional" not illegal in US law, for those interested. Also, juries are the bigger problem than judges, IMO. Those twelve "peers" are rarely actually peers. Personally, I'd re-write the whole US Constitution to eliminate a few things (3/5 clause, 2nd amendment, so forth) and update it so it's not for/by rich whtie guys.

If judges were isolated from world events 1) they'd have no way of making informed decisions and 2) no one would want to be a judge. Most upper court judges have served as a judge before, however else could they gain experience? They ARE required to have a law degree. Legislative, just how are council members selected? Randomly? Can someone be forced to be a member? There is no good answer, unfortunately. Executive, I pretty much agree - no more political parties. Or at least treat ALL parties equally. Just things to think about

I'm also referring to the under represented group the disabled. We are hardly visible and when we are it's often for people to mock or joke at our expense.

Electoral college was created to prevent Hitler-like candidates from winning. It's part of the checks and balances. Not saying it is the greatest system but replacing it without some other system in place seems short sighted to me. I get why people hate it and it makes sense. But democracy isn't a perfect system. The loudest, tallest, or most charismatic aren't always the smartest or nicest people. Politicians are great at writing laws that are too convoluted and complex for the average person to see what it really means or does. They can tell you one thing and be doing the exact opposite. There has to be some means of saving us from ourselves. Maybe reform the electorial college? But I'm not sure what system would be better. Before we abolish it we need a good replacement. That's all.

The electoral college system is flawed, as well as an inadequate representation as it destroys the fundamental principles of “your one vote counts”. No it doesn’t! Furthermore, after the colossal presidential election in 2020, we witnessed active participants that were willing to illegally replace the members of certain states to install those who deemed that the election was based on fraud, illegal ballots and more. The value of every American vote should count as ONE vote and NOT a watered down version! In addition, D.C. MUST be granted statehood so that THEIR citizens votes count as well!!

If you don't like hearing gossip, let your face assume an expression that clearly communicates your feeling. With practice, you can shut them up in their first paragraph. In my finer moments, I've been able to stop them before they completed their second sentence. And the big bonus is that they are unlikely to approach you with gossip in the future.

*DOWNVOTE TARGET AHEAD, CAPTAIN!* A careful, controlled redistribution of wealth. Not a poorly planned free for all, but something aimed at true universal benefit. In particular, if it would cost $2 billion dollars to end world hunger, then an individual with $10 billion dollars could (and should) make that happen. They would still have $8 billion dollars, still be rich. AND a world-wide problem could be solved in our lifetimes.

If you take $8 billion off that rich person, they would still have $2 billion and be fabulously wealthy, BUT... That would be the sum total of $1 to each person in the world and that isn't even solving world "I'm a bit peckish", let alone anything useful. PLUS, that $10 billion doesn't even exist in the first place, most of it is stock values that don't actually exist in real money terms. World hunger will only be solved by humans treating the world like every other species and stopping reproducing when the food supply *of that area* can't support a larger population.

All US Prisons should be functional farms as well as a place of “actual rehabilitation”. Nonviolent Inmates especially should be given the responsibility of growing fruits and veggies as well as caring for animals either for consumption or even to help feed the homeless. Rather than depending on tax payers inmates need to contribute to their own incarceration and gain useful skills. Private Prisons are filthy rich for just being the adult version of timeout while we foot the bill.

I've always thought non-violent offenses, or offenses that don't affect lots of people, or are under a certain amount of money don't even warrant jail time. No one should have to try to find a job with a record for some dumb, non violent thing they did when they were 19 for the rest of their life. We get one trip on this world. Stupid mistakes that don't cause great harm, were one-off, etc shouldn't make you lose your quality of life, for the rest of your life because you didn't have the money to get out of it. If we had a reasonable jail population size, and it was just literally the worst of the worst, whole lotta problems would be solved.

There are many white collar and non violent "criminals" that are allowed to continue to work during the week and "in jail" on the weekends, usually working at helping other inmates improve. Low security prisoners often attend classes to earn degrees, certifications or learn trades. Many have working farms which help support them. It's the private ones that don't even try to help

And It’s unattainable/unobtainable to get them all so soon :, they need planning, checking to see if they’re actually possible realistically- honestly, this sounds like Heaven to me (subtract things that include money or having to be safe/make a living) I’d be proud of it too but this is something everyone would have to really be passionately in agreement about before it could all be done

I don't even understand the point of prescription drug commercials. As someone with a list of heath issues as long as I am tall, I've been chewed out for asking a doctor to put me back on a med that had helped me in the past. Most of them seem to be threatened by anyone without a medical degree who knows something about medicine. I can only imagine if I went to a doctor and said, "so I saw this as for this drug that's supposed to target some of my symptoms. Can you prescribe it for me?"

With the power of the on-board computers, the car could remember each time you turned or changed lanes, and whether or not the signal switch was on. Then, at licence-renewal time, the clerk queries your car to see how much to charge you extra. I'd say that a dollar for each record would smarten some people up pretty quick.

Mutual, basic human respect. There is so much diversity on earth - of thought, of people - that it is impossible for everyone to be completely and utterly happy with all the different opinions. We shouldn't be aiming to make people have the same opinions as us, and think like us; we should be aiming for mutual respect and understanding. We need to understand that there is no single correct moral code or court of law. And we need to respect everyone, no matter how deeply we disagree with them. (This point, by the way, is in reference to general disagreements, not murder or something. Just for those people who are probably thinking that!) How do we do this? Have spaces where people with diverse opinions, from different backgrounds, can have a voice. Spread the idea that there is no single right way to live life. Most of all, laern to listen. Have conversations. Finally - if you don't agree with me, that's okay! Let's talk about it :)

I've had a few ideas. Some less sane than others but still have potential The first one is that paths and roads have temperature monitors and heat up when it gets below a certain temperature to avoid Black Ice and allows pets that go for walks on freezing grounds to be more comfier. In my eyes although I've hardly done the maths, I think this would help cut down on the use and labour for applying Grit salt onto only major roads, it'd be quicker and it'd cause less accidents While we're on the subject of roads, build a path over existing roads for bikes, automatic scooters and automatic bikes. Not motorbikes though, I think they'd be too heavy so maybe an underground version? I chose the over the road option because then we don't have to dig into the ground to waste time but also the bike path as I'd call it would shield the normal road from weather conditions mostly. Only snowstorms would be a problem and we have the above idea for that. This would help with the issue of Bikes constantly going between traffic, being caught up in accidents, being blamed for stuff even when they didn't do it and I think it'd just be a quality of life improvement. Obviously we can't do that on ever road but the major ones where busses and Lorries can travel would be a good area of coverage I think A work system for people fresh out of prison or those who turn to crime just to get by. This is a huge reason why prisons are filling up rapidly because jobs can't support a living wage. Now sure the obvious answer is to make it so jobs pay a living wage but anyone who's actually worked a job knows that you can't reason with those deluded idiots. They're just too far gone. So what a lot of people do to end up working 40+ hours a week is to work two jobs. That's all well and fine but what about people with records or those who can't land jobs for some reason and have no where else to turn but to steal? So I propose the building of new power stations. Lots and lots of them. You offer on sight training and eventually with a bit of positive reinforcement you have a whole new range of people who are fully trained and can work them for a decent wage meaning they don't have to commit crimes to get by. Obviously those messed up enough to steal and kill still will still be sent to prison but for today, that's not the case for all inmates. And as a bonus this helps with the energy crisis too. We could even have a whole new workforce to help with council service jobs to replace the guys who keep destroying all our roads and bins and everything because they can't be bothered to do their job properly While we're on the subject of jobs. Seriously you giant corporations. Pay. Your. Staff. You might find they actually start to stick around and stop wishing death on you. There is such a thing called Duty of Care, start following it. This is why no one likes you. While I'm here I'd also like to tell my doctor to pick up the phone. My Tendonitis is not going away and I'm still doing all the hard labour jobs for the shop I work at and I'm the one getting blamed for "not trying hard enough" when I've been trying to get ahold of you FOR OVER A YEAR. Yeah, thanks a lot for that one Other small ideas. In my town we have only 1 zebra crossing lights play music for the blind. That needs to be in a lot more places. Like absolutely everywhere. Also people need to learn how to drive. It's a Zebra Crossing, not a street race A separate lane for Busses that have to stop regularly or for emergency services would also be quite good but I do understand that is a lot of work and not entirely feasible in every road. But I think it should help with traffic a bit And finally my ultimate dream idea that's not going to have a chance of being invented any time soon: An app on your phone that when you point it at something, it tells you all the best thing to do. Translations, basic first aid. Common sense. That could really help out when everyone has their faces in their phones all the

If it's not a thing yet, I propose that it is as solar powered as can be done. :) But the biking-thing.... are you talking about bike lanes? In Denmark they are at the outer side of the roads and are often elevated a little so cars won't drive on it.

Unfortunately, many want to do more than express their perspective. They want to pass laws to make their perspective the only perspective.

Im trying to think… think… thinking… OK. Response: yes, people should not suffocate people into their beliefs. I want to learn a lot about everyone’s perspective, and while I also want to challenge it, if they wouldn’t get offended or shaken I’d respect that and let them try me on my strength of belief. There should be room to discuss without being offended or automatically responding with (or thinking) “This person is stupid.” I admit I slip into this, but at least I have something to aspire towards! Also, I think some principles should be implicated as rules or laws, like basic “be a respectful, kind human bean. Treat others the way you’d want to be treated (kindly if you hate yourself. Found out that loophole, but some people who hate themselves don’t want others to feel what they feel so they’re actually kind. Bullies: that but not kind)”

    1. Helping the homeless by people offering a spare room or house whether for a night or longer. Difficult but doable. Think of the difference we could make to so many lives. 2. In animated movies offer the job of voicing the characters to actors who may not be physically able to act. Kids couldn't care less if it was a famous actor or not. Share the wealth! 3. When someone is excited to share a story that is important to them, acknowledge them and do not try to immediately top that with one of yours. Most Importantly 4. If a neighbour doesn't have enough food for their children of course we would help them out. What if we thought to help every hungry child wherever they lived because they are our neighbours on this planet?

    1. That would be scary. The sad truth is that long time homeless really have nothing left to lose and may take risks. They could be ill. Our town got heated pods and a campground type bathroom. It works better to bug town council about it. More can be done locally than nationally.

More schools for kids of all ages with Autism. Also, better support and acceptance of autism for kids and adults. I am very proud to be part of a new school opening this fall in my town. We have worked hard to create it and it is exciting to see it ready to open!

My son is autistic and goes to a normal mainstream school. He gets lots of support from the school (he has an EHCP) and the kids in his class just take him as he is and watch out for him. His class is particularly kind. We are very lucky in this regard.

Sorry, there's a lot of misunderstandings here in the comments. I think this person means organized religion, not faith. Faith is usually good-natured, 'something to hold on to' kind-of-stuff. Organized religion, on the other hand, is a bit more chaotic and can be corrupted easily (Not saying all religion is bad).

I think you are absolutely fine to hang onto whatever is giving you strength and comfort. I am atheist, but if you were my child, I would absolutely want you to be healthy and well, to have hope, and to feel loved. If Jesus does this for you, then no one should deny you that. I have self harm scars of my own and if I were a praying person, I would pray for you to find peace of mind and healing.

I can see why they would think that, but my faith has actually helped me a lot, even as a kid. It was something to stand on when I was scared, and it helps me now. Back when my anxiety was bad, prayer was the only solace I got, when I was lying awake at night.

Im under 18 and I love my church and I love being a Christian. I feel like people inly focus on the bad Christians and don't give enough attention to the churches who are actually helping and stuff. For example my church donates money to Ukraine and helps refugees find jobs in America. Don't downvote me please it's just frustrating when people assume all Christians are bad

I don’t wanna put you down guys, I just want to be able to have input. Ignore me if you really can’t handle it :< (several people have already done that, and I accept it as the end of a conversation where they would rather continue thinking of me as pushing my religion on others. I do not hate them. It’s a good way to let me know “give it a rest” without having to formally tell me so. This applies only to india , but i'd like theopinionof people from all over the world on these, so, hereit goes: Allow (mandatorily open )carry of Fixed blade knives below 6 inches in length. and carry of other survival items. Change airport laws accordingly so that everyone can create post plane crash survival kits. allow carry of a small ( not more than 3 inches in total length ) ceramic knife at all times. Allow carry of all types of folding knives ( except balisongs and switchblades ) provided total length is under 6 inches . Make Bushcraft , survival, martial arts, and wilderness training mandatory in Schools. severe punishment for sexual crimes and crimes towards nature and natural resources. Presidential rule in West Bengal. Hindu-Muslim disparity is present almost everywhere in india, but nowhere will one hear of communal issues cascading to whatever the hell is going on in this particular state. my father lives and works in telangana. We are a Hindu family, we have Muslim friends, all 3 of us. Dad celebrated the breaking of Ramdan's fast with some of his employees, only he did not have beef like they did. Basically, West Bengalhas such a high communal conflict issue because of 3 reasons - a pseudo-dictator of a Chief minister in the form of Mamata Banerjee ( found nowhere else in India ), fanatic Muslims ( found in quite a few places across India ), and an opposition represented almost completely by known conpeople. BJP and Navin Pattnaik's political party should alternate between being the Central Ruling party and the Central Opposition. the other parties should go f*ck themselves into oblivion. Allow carrying of knuckledusters, tasers, pepper spray and personal alarm devices. Legalise use of sattelite phones, and personal GPS devices. However, they must be easily discoverable, as in, should make special sounds when the companion app is activated, so if they are being used to track someone without their consent, the latter can easily discover them. On that note, their import from other countries should be banned to ensure this precaution exists. Legalise Marijuana and Ganja ( Are they the same?). ban Alcohol, Smoking, vaping, and Hookahs.

Why hookahs? They’re pipes for tobacco. In Cairo, I saw people buy tobacco and use hookah in a "bar" like other substances are used everywhere.

Honestly, IDK. But in my city (Kolkata), they got banned like 6 months ago for some untoward incidents( which happens waaay more often due to alcohol, but for some reaon the Municipal Corporation decided Hookahs were to be blamed entirely), and Kolkata is the capital of West bengal, which if you went through the post, you might have a fairly good idea that nothing good comes of this city anyway, so when it is banning what is technically smoking with extra class, i'd say, we need to look into that matter. The more important reason for that last line actually is this: In our Constitution, the people of india ( in practical life, the Government of India ) have sworn that they will work to stop the use of substances that cause harm to human life, such as Tobacco and Alcohol, with an exception to allow the useof the latter in the medical field. And the Government has ignored that statement for 70+ years. Hence, my wish that All kinds of substances that can be abused should be utterly

Be kind. Mind your own business. Just, don't be an @ss. It's pretty simple really. You don't have to like your neighbor or approve of their lifestyle, religion, etc. You pass people on the street, you don't know what they're going through. Many people already picked some good ones. Everyone minding their own business is a good one, and respecting people's privacy. Stop filming and shaming strangers at the gym, and especially don't capture anyone in the locker rooms. That's a place of expected privacy and it's illegal. But people do it. One thing would definitely be nice is ending this thug mentality, where if someone asks someone to not smoke/vape/toke around them then the offender thinks it's some sort of disrespect that deserves ending their life. This just happened a couple weeks ago in Vancouver. A family was out somewhere, there was a guy vaping close to the kid. The dad asked the vaper to move. In front of his wife and kid the vaper killed the dad. I really need to stop reading comments on news articles. People were almost defending the killer, saying it was the Dad's fault for being worried about his kid's health and asking someone to move. Some people were hung up on the Dad taking issue with vapes. A few were giving condolences and addressing how senseless it was. One guy said "Think next time before you tell a smoker to move." It's not the first time someone has been killed over menial stuff like that in Canada and it's gotta stop. These people are not as tough and badass as they think they are.

Stop militarizing the police! Give them more training in de-escalation methods. Have alternatives to cops to call for non-threatening situations, such as a naked loony running around the neighborhood at oh-dark-thirty. More funding for helping people with mental health issues, more affordable housing, more assistance for victims of domestic violence, and a livable minimum wage that automatically increases to keep pace with inflation - all those will take burdens off the shoulders of police so they can focus on catching burglars, armed robbers, rapists and kitten-kickers.
