Hey Pandas, What Simple Great Ideas Do You Have That Would Make The World So Much Better In Your Opinion?
What simple, silly ideas do you have that would make Earth way better?

Got your down vote finger ready? Ban automatic weapons except for the military. Not even cops, they can use tasers and rubber bullets. Yeah, I know those garage gunsmiths will rig something up, but its a start. automatic weapons make a person feel powerful and THAT is why its dangerous.
Bingo! Military-grade weapons don't even save soldiers in combat (see: any given war). They just give you a chance to spray-and-pray. Everyone *thinks* they'll be a bada** sniper in a melee, but the fact is, even the best-trained can be killed if ambushed by a putz with an AK. Keep the semi-auto and auto out of civilian hands. I've family who have to hunt for food, but they use a bolt-action single-shot. Y'know why? If you're actually a hunter, you know one shot will scare anything you don't hit. if you need more than one, GTFO the woods. (quoting my gramps yet again.)
Serious question here from a non American, I know it's in the US constitution you've got the right to bear arms but why can't they just make the ammunition really expensive or hard to get or illegal?
Load More Replies...No, don't ban the automatic weapons - keep them legal, and have owners carry liability insurance for them. Then let the insurance companies fight to ban them. That would make them illegal in a heartbeat.
Actually, that's brilliant... We have an insurance institute that tests car safety because theyg ot tired of paying up;....
Load More Replies...Military grade weapons were specifically designed for use in combat, NOT for everyday Americans! Ban the sales of ALL assault rifles, along with the ability to modify your firearms. What possible purpose are assault rifles for ANY gun owner? NONE!!! Mandatory Federal Gun law's in every state, age restrictions, Red flag laws, mandatory gun safety courses & every gun owner MUST be licensed. We must take & pass courses for a drivers license but NOT to purchase guns???? Federal mandatory processes on every gun purchase, including gun shows, a 72 hour waiting period as well as approval on a nationwide database. Those charged with domestic violence lose ownership of guns which must be turned in until trials prove innocent. Every gun owner must maintain gun safes in ALL homes which have minors! I could add so much more!!
I f*****g hate wars and don't see the point of them. The militaries are not just going at each other because they want to, themselves. They're sent by government leaders, used as disposable pawns.
So, like most of the world? Very few places have major issues with guns outside of the obvious. I couldn't tell you the last time a heard of a gun issue here in Scotland
I propose large fines to the manufacturer and whoever sold it whenever someone gets shot (even by police). If you made the gun or sold the gun you are responsible for what happens with it. "But, then places might not want to sell them." Okay. "But, prices will go up because of the fines." Okay. Both of those things will cause less guns to be out there. If you really want one, it will be hard to get and costly over time, but you can get one. I'm not, "taking your guns".
Tell me you're a noncy American without telling me you're a noncy American...
So...... You want law enforcement, people who are supposed to protect you, to use rubber bullets as someone ELSE is using an AK-47 to shoot at a crowd?......... Okay. See how that goes for ya. If the cops don't have lethal weapons, crime would be out of control in a day.
Tax churches.
Not all churches are filled with money hungry pastors. Our church has a garden that we grow vegetables and fruits in - in 2022, we donated over 9,000 pounds/4082 kgs to local hunger relief efforts.
Just because not all are bad doesn't mean they should all be free from taxes.
Load More Replies...Churches aren't taxed because they don't provide goods or services. Their "income" is money freely given to them, after the giver has already been taxed on their income. So to tax a church is to double-tax income.
Former IRS employee here. Your analysis is flawed because (at least in the US) the giver can deduct his church contribution from his taxable income. So no double tax. (And if he uses the standard deduction, a certain amount of charitable contributions is used to figure the amount of the standard deduction.) The actual reason churches aren't taxed is that they are non-profit organizations, like the Red Cross or the American Cancer Society. Btw, if a church owns a for-profit asset, that for-profit asset pays income and property taxes just like any other business.
Load More Replies...Our church uses most of the money we raise to send to Ukraine. We also don't pay our pastors. We give money to people in our church who need it.
What if that religion doesn't have the kind of s**t present in Evangelism? Eg: Hinduism? The majority of the world aren't atheists, so why should ~50% of the world pay taxes because they believe a God exists?
Load More Replies...Free healthcare, and less complaining about things out of our control (Plz dont downvote, I am just stating my opinion)
Not downvoting, just clarifying. "Free" healthcare still requires money from somewhere. I believe the vernacular needs to change from "free healthcare" to "we all have the RIGHT to healthcare." 100% on the complaining, though!
I'd rather see healthcare fixed. Insurance and big pharm drive up the cost. I'm fine with paying for any service but our healthcare is ridiculous.
Sure! But who's going to fund it? More taxes don't make it free.
Downvotes are things out of your control. So don't complain about them. :)
Corporations pay their taxes. Workers paid a living wage. Corporate responsibility to the environment rather than corporate greed.
What??? Corporations pay taxes? COMMUNIST!!!!! Next thing you'll be saying is that rich people should pay their fair share of taxes!!!!!!!!!! Then you'll want to allow everybody to vote!!!! Even poor people!!!!!!!! (Before you downvote me, I'm JOKING. That's SARCASM. Yes, I know, hard to tell these days.)
But corporations create jobs, don't they? So did the plantation owners - with free food, free housing, and a guarantee of life-time employment.

Oh no! Putin has Zelenskyy on the ropes!...but what's this?! Here comes Biden with the steel chair!
Funny, isn’t it? I remember my friends and me already coming up with a similar idea in primary school, ie that world leaders who want a war should be locked into a room together and made to fight it out. I remember feeling slightly naive at this, as if I was somehow missing something and thought that because I’m a child Im probably just not getting it. Now as an adult in my 40’s I still can’t see anything wrong with that idea. I very much suggest we give it a try.
How about the CEOs of the companies that are really causing the wars fight it out?
The contest should be making them try to live on the median salary of their workers. Last one bankrupt wins.
Load More Replies...This would be good because we'd elect younger people who could actually fight instead of old crusty men.
I suggest the leaders of the warring nation be brought to a neutral country with huge sports arena. Each nation has their own designated seating section. The leaders are brought out in their underwear and given wooden bats which they club each other with until one leader either gets knocked unconscious. The loosing nation has to buy the winners dinner and a memorial plaque is hung on a wall of the arena. Everyone goes home.
Follow only one rule: treat others (people, animals, our planet) as you would wish to be treated.
Golden Rule (written on grade school rulers) "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Sounds kind of biblical, is it?
Almost every religion has this rule. Also the many religions that pre-date the bibles.

"Do not do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Their tastes may differ." - George Bernard Shaw
I thought if people remembered to judge others by their actions and not by their creed, race, nationality, haircolor, age or anything but only on what they actually do it would make the world som much better. Nowadays many judge others on things those others cannot do anything about instead of on the good or bad things they actually do.
Make voting compulsory but have a “None of the above” category so those elected are aware of the percentage of the population they have failed to reach and how much work they have to do.
In Denmark the "none of the above" is just a voting sheet with no crosses on. We call it blank votes and they do get counted. I always tell ppl that if you don't like any of the parties you can aleays do a blank vote but you must not (and I repeat: you must NOT) stay away from voting. It is your citizen duty in a democratic society as ours. It is a DUTY!
Surely, in a free society, the right not to vote is important?
Load More Replies...The freedom to vote includes the freedom to choose to vote or not. Not everyone has to agree with those who opt out, but that's their right. Corrupt politicians will find loopholes to their advantage, either way.
I think Australia has compulsory voting and last time I looked it was dictator free
Load More Replies...Voting is a duty and a right many take for granted, and I do think it should be mandatory. Or there should be a law that you aren’t allowed to complain about the party in power if you didn’t vote in the election that put them there.
I turned 18 on November 5th, 1985, 2 days AFTER a major election and was so disappointed that I couldn't vote! Now 58 (this November), I'm proud to say I've never missed a national election, even when I lived overseas in the early 90s. No matter where you live, if you can vo, you need to do it!
In Australia it's compulsory to vote in state and federal elections and also in the rare referendums -- or at least to turn up and ensure your name is crossed off and you have received a voting slip and handed it in. Yes, some people do a donkey vote (ie merely number candidates in the order in which they appear on the voting slip), or do something else to make their vote invalid, or even hand in a slip without marking anything on it at all. Voting is a responsibility as well as a right. If you don't vote, you get fined (not much, admittedly). IMO, if you don't vote, you have no right to whinge.
India who has always had that option: " You guys don't have NOTA???"
That’s great 🙂. Is the number of NOTAS announced with the other results? As for the UK, the the best we can do is not vote or spoil our ballots.
Load More Replies...I'd most like to see a "second choice" option on the ballot, so people can vote for who they really want to see in office without worrying about "throwing away their vote." I'm curious to see if we'd actually get a third party candidate that way (I've heard some countries already do this, I wish we'd try it in the US)
Doesn't the number of people not voting already tell the elected the percentage of the population they have failed to reach and how much work they have to do?
more non kill animal shelters
And more people spaying and neutering their pets so there's fewer puppies and kittens in shelters 👍
at least give the animals to a different shelter instead of killing them
To add to this, not having to hock a kidney to afford veterinarian care for them.
Maybe a mandatory spay/neutering for pets, unless you get a certain licence or such as a breeder? It would help contain the population without causing harm.
Wow. Uh. A lot. I think the first one would to not let religion govern countries. Less suppression of minorities, effective law enforcement, more strict laws on weapons, less military funding etc etc. And less news stations, please.
Stop having religions based on controlling people.
Load More Replies...More news stations, that way at least one has to be reliable, preferably a reliable one for every political party to enjoy
Doesn't America have a noddy bit of paper specifically saying that this shouldn't happen? And then they went full steam ahead doing it?
Actually separate Church and State. It is no one's business who I have in my bedroom except for me and whoever it is I have in my bedroom.
I live in one of the rare countries where State and Churches are separated. I can see there are benefits for Churches too. They can tell what they think (and not only what they are allowed to) and appoint the most competent people (not only the most politically pleasing). In short, they are free.
In the US, preachers tell Democrats to get out of their churches, "we don't want you here". I think we need to remind preachers they're not politicians ---- and vice versa.
Religious people should be in favor of separation of church and state. Do they want to entrust the delivery of the word of God to the people who gave us the Post Office?
“Jesus is Lord!” :D? (I’m joking, I’m joking, I mean it but I know what you mean)
Load More Replies...Let people tell their stories. You may not agree with their conclusions, you may argue the facts, but let them talk. And when you talk, don't demand everyone believe 100% what you do, or see the same events 100% the same as you do. Intellectual breathing space and emotional room are vital for good mental health. Give it, ask for it, respect it.
"The opposite of talking isn't listening. The opposite of talking is waiting." - Fran Lebowitz. Too true too often.

Good use of language to avoid issues. Or, as the old logic teacher said back in school, truth always carries the weight of opinion. Facts merely exist.
Load More Replies...Sometimes facts are irrelevant. One person's experience is just that, their experience that mattered to them.
Making it so that healthier food is more affordable and eating less meat as a species would make it so that the world can have better farming practices that actually benefit the earth and environment. Especially here in America, there is so much wrong with how we eat and how the food is produced. Healthier eating practices would lead to better farming practices, which leads to a healthier earth. With the amount of beef we eat in America, farmers that actually treat the animals and ecosystems well cannot produce fast enough to meet the demand on their own. If we change the way we eat, we could have a much healthier human race and a much healthier planet. If you made it this far into my rambling post, I appreciate your patience. Have a good day :)
The food industry is corrupt! All the toxic substances being placed in foods, allowed to be IN our food! FDA is not doing their job! And that’s not even talking about meat production…every person needs to demand only organic, non-GMO, foods. Boycott the c**p.
The FDA allows our foods to be toxic so that when we become unhealthy they get to double dip because we'll need more medication later.
Load More Replies...Government subsidies to certain sorts (corn, soy, beef) and not to others (veggies) plays a role in this inequity.
In my home state of Alaska, we have food shortages, so a majority of our food comes from Alaska Farmers (where the slogan "Alaska Grown" comes from.) Because of this, it makes it so much more expensive for people living in Alaska to eat healthy fruits, veggies, or keep a vegan/vegetarian diet. We NEED to dramatically lower food prices so people in my home state can actually eat the food they want to. Especially in Native Alaskan communities!
Universal Basic Income and Medicare for All. Sorry, but all of the talk about living wages and good jobs just isn't going to work in the near future. Automation, AI and robotics will start replacing large swathes of workers in a diverse range of industries. The last McDonald's I went to no longer had cashiers, only kiosks to place an order. ChatGTP that everyone has heard so much about is only the beginning, not the peak. It would be much better to have UBI than to have 45% unemployment in a country that is floating in weapons.
Look up socialism, I think you will find many services you engage with or will

Don't give into the masses of the general public - There are bad Christians, and bad gay people. Don't generalise, be open-minded.
I am a black queer Christian and I agree! I support everyone, no matter your sexuality, your gender identity... I strive to be the safe space I needed when I was younger.
As a low-melanin cishet male in recovery, I try to do the same
Load More Replies...Let's remember that news is an event - good or bad - that's out of the ordinary. "Sweet old Christian grandma bakes cookies for homeless shelter every Sunday" doesn't get reported because it's not out of the ordinary. And aren't we glad?
Whilst I agree with the fact that news is for events, I feel as though you misread my message. Rather than "Lady screams at underpaid worker" they post "Crazy Christian Lady Screams at Underpaid Worker" even if religious status has nothing to do with the actual article.

One must obtain a license in order to have children. To obtain this license, one must prove sufficient funds to care for child, take a parenting class, and take a drug test.
In Denmark you get a bit of money per child (up to 4th child, I think?) On a quarterly basis. This helps many families. In my family we use that money to save up for bigger celebrations for the kids and for renting a vacation home once per year (well, we pay the actual rent and the kids pay for the cleaning afterwards). So I think that the sufficient funding-thing could be avoided. Instead I want to replace it with therapy. I grew up with a narcisistic mom and that still has a toll on me emotionally. I have a history with depression, stress and anxiety. I can only hope that this doesn't impact too much on my kids. I think therapy should be a thing for ppl wanting to have kids but also for parents. Like an annual check-up where you went to see your therapist. If you needed it you could have 10 sessions per year for free to help you get on top of things in your mind so your kids would be less likely to need therapy as adults.
So poor people are denied families? They won't be loving, attentive parents because they are poor? No, that's wrong. Take a class, sure! Drug test, definitely! But no because of finances. What happens if they have kids & then become poor?
Agrred. What the government should do is to have programs that assist parents with low incomes.
Load More Replies...Parents have to take parenting classes before claiming their child on their income tax. It must be renewed every 2 years due to the development of their child.
Would this be solely the mother, or both mother and father? What would happen if the father is proving unfit? What about teen moms who, despite their age, are getting ample supports and otherwise stable enough? What about cultures with differences of what would be considered the norm? Last time I checked, no you don't need a license, there are social workers your ob-gyn will make you speak to if they think there's any issues or instability in the home, even if things are actually okay, but just the environment isn't traditional enough for the ob-gyn's liking, or there's a past history of relatives being involved in social services, including as being in care as a child. Happened to me. At least I didn't get my daughter taken, but I've heard of others who have and a high proportion are Indigenous families getting ripped apart still, to the point hospitals had to get rid of birth alerts.
Yes, I know it couldn't work due to all of the above... but there sure are a lot of s****y parents out there who shouldn't have kids.
Load More Replies...Great idea but I cannot see how it could be enforced. You don't even have to know how children are "made" to get them.
I have a few about how to change governments: Legistlative: Instead of Congress/Parliment, we have 100 seats on a Council, which each have their own criteria based on census data for the population and the percentage of certain groups in that country (i.e., 50/50 male/female, an amount of LGBTQ+/POC seats equivalent to the percentage of those individuals in the country, a wide spectrum of ages) Executive: No more parties, and CERTIANLY not an Electoral College or anything. Electoral College delegates aren't legally required to vote the way their state did, and I think its f****d up that you can win the popular vote and lose because of the Electoral College. Judicial: Judges are not allowed to have political parties. They must be isolated from any world events not relevant to the cases at hand to ensure impartial judgement. They also have to have served before, have a law degree, and not be allowed to physically see the defenant/plaintiff to prevent bias. The epitome of justice is blind. General: Amendments are always proposed by the people, no matter what. State laws are removed from the books IMMEDIATELY if a federal case deems them illegal. All prisons are government run, and must be checked regularly to insure that they are focused on rehabilitation, not punishment, and are HUMANE, SAFE, facilities for both the guard and inmates. I've said it before and I've said it again, I should be in charge of planning the government of a country, because I am discriminated against in a variety of ways and want to prevent others from facing the same.
How do rich people get rich on their own then? 🤔 I’m genuinely confused now tho
Load More Replies...If you want the power, you can't be trusted with it ------ my gramps. And it's "unconstitutional" not illegal in US law, for those interested. Also, juries are the bigger problem than judges, IMO. Those twelve "peers" are rarely actually peers. Personally, I'd re-write the whole US Constitution to eliminate a few things (3/5 clause, 2nd amendment, so forth) and update it so it's not for/by rich whtie guys.
Yes, if I'm right some of the founding fathers wanted the Constitution to be updated every 20 years or so.
Load More Replies...Sorry but based on the post, and how it is worded, this is someone who would not get my vote. Some of the ideas are intriguing but at the end “I should be in charge.” totally undoes the whole post. LOL
It's sarcasm, I have zero desire to be in charge of a country, I'd end up causing nuclear war by day three.
Load More Replies...If judges were isolated from world events 1) they'd have no way of making informed decisions and 2) no one would want to be a judge. Most upper court judges have served as a judge before, however else could they gain experience? They ARE required to have a law degree. Legislative, just how are council members selected? Randomly? Can someone be forced to be a member? There is no good answer, unfortunately. Executive, I pretty much agree - no more political parties. Or at least treat ALL parties equally. Just things to think about
Judges: I meant more along the lines of events not related to their cases. Legislative: They would be voted in, but they would have to run for a seat that fit their profile.
Load More Replies...Yes! They divide the country so much. Suddenly your whole identity is either Democratic or Republican. And if you choose a third party, you’re “throwing your vote away”. Just vote for people that you believe in!
Load More Replies...The electoral college in the United States was created as a form of classism. The founders didn't believe that poor people could make an educated vote.
Y'all the end is sarcastic, it's just trying to say that we should listen to people who are actually having issues with the system rather than those that benefit.
America: Eliminate the electoral college! Let's just go with the person receiving the largest number of votes wins any election. Gerrymandering eliminated, every vote counts. No more hijacking the government by politicians with a different agenda that the electorate.
I've never understood the American voting system. I hope American's can understand it.
Nope. We Americans understand our voting system least of all. Been trying to change it for generations but TPTB know it's perfect for their manipulations, so it stays. Ditto w/senators & congresspeople getting re-elected w/o limits & voting on their own raises.

I'm also referring to the under represented group the disabled. We are hardly visible and when we are it's often for people to mock or joke at our expense.
Electoral college was created to prevent Hitler-like candidates from winning. It's part of the checks and balances. Not saying it is the greatest system but replacing it without some other system in place seems short sighted to me. I get why people hate it and it makes sense. But democracy isn't a perfect system. The loudest, tallest, or most charismatic aren't always the smartest or nicest people. Politicians are great at writing laws that are too convoluted and complex for the average person to see what it really means or does. They can tell you one thing and be doing the exact opposite. There has to be some means of saving us from ourselves. Maybe reform the electorial college? But I'm not sure what system would be better. Before we abolish it we need a good replacement. That's all.
The electoral college was created under the belief that poor people were unable to make educated votes.
I could not agree more, I live in a state with TERRIBLE gerrymandering (we all know it happens, both parties do it even tho we're a swing state/center wing) and it sucks
The electoral college system is flawed, as well as an inadequate representation as it destroys the fundamental principles of “your one vote counts”. No it doesn’t! Furthermore, after the colossal presidential election in 2020, we witnessed active participants that were willing to illegally replace the members of certain states to install those who deemed that the election was based on fraud, illegal ballots and more. The value of every American vote should count as ONE vote and NOT a watered down version! In addition, D.C. MUST be granted statehood so that THEIR citizens votes count as well!!
Be accepting, don’t assume why people did something, don’t gossip or bully, don’t litter.
If you don't like hearing gossip, let your face assume an expression that clearly communicates your feeling. With practice, you can shut them up in their first paragraph. In my finer moments, I've been able to stop them before they completed their second sentence. And the big bonus is that they are unlikely to approach you with gossip in the future.
:0 I want to do that but I have a hard time making expressions in social situations- also I’m kinda ugly .-. Aaaand- I dunno, they’ll probably think of me as a b* and be more unkind than usual. Can’t handle all those variables TvT

In particular, if it would cost $2 billion dollars to end world hunger, then an individual with $10 billion dollars could (and should) make that happen. They would still have $8 billion dollars, still be rich. AND a world-wide problem could be solved in our lifetimes.
If you take $8 billion off that rich person, they would still have $2 billion and be fabulously wealthy, BUT... That would be the sum total of $1 to each person in the world and that isn't even solving world "I'm a bit peckish", let alone anything useful. PLUS, that $10 billion doesn't even exist in the first place, most of it is stock values that don't actually exist in real money terms. World hunger will only be solved by humans treating the world like every other species and stopping reproducing when the food supply *of that area* can't support a larger population.
We have the land and the farm technology to feed everyone on the planet. Given two year's advance notice, the US could do it all by itself. So that's not the problem. People starve because there's profit in it for businesses and power in it for governments. And because so many people just don't give a damn.
Load More Replies...It is an incredibly unpopular idea amongst those that have the bounty of wealth. That's all.
Load More Replies...All US Prisons should be functional farms as well as a place of “actual rehabilitation”. Nonviolent Inmates especially should be given the responsibility of growing fruits and veggies as well as caring for animals either for consumption or even to help feed the homeless. Rather than depending on tax payers inmates need to contribute to their own incarceration and gain useful skills. Private Prisons are filthy rich for just being the adult version of timeout while we foot the bill.
I've always thought non-violent offenses, or offenses that don't affect lots of people, or are under a certain amount of money don't even warrant jail time. No one should have to try to find a job with a record for some dumb, non violent thing they did when they were 19 for the rest of their life. We get one trip on this world. Stupid mistakes that don't cause great harm, were one-off, etc shouldn't make you lose your quality of life, for the rest of your life because you didn't have the money to get out of it. If we had a reasonable jail population size, and it was just literally the worst of the worst, whole lotta problems would be solved.
There are many white collar and non violent "criminals" that are allowed to continue to work during the week and "in jail" on the weekends, usually working at helping other inmates improve. Low security prisoners often attend classes to earn degrees, certifications or learn trades. Many have working farms which help support them. It's the private ones that don't even try to help
Only violent, dangerous people should be "behind bars." We need alternatives for non-violent offenders. Also, we need ways for the poor to pay off traffic tickets and other fines through community service.
People who swindle old and poor people out of their money are "non-violent offenders" but deserve to be thrown under the jail and kept there. Corporate CEO who loot employee pension funds committed no violence, but should be put away for life. There are thousands of others examples as well. Rich white people need to feel jail too.

Disagree. If you will only mind your own business, you don't get to help others who need your help. If you always tell the truth you will have trouble keeping friends. Or have no friend ever asked you about your opinion on her new dress, and you had just thought where did she get that horrible rag?
Being blunt or having to comment everything that comes to your mind vs being honest: you would say that in your eyes you do not like the bag but if she prefers it she can get it, although she did ask your opinion for a reason - honest though still kind version
Load More Replies...I disagree with always tell the truth. I'd say always try to tell the truth. If someone asks if you're OK and you know you're not but also don't have the mental capacity to explain why you're not ok you should be allowed to say you're OK.
1.We should have metal detectors in every school 2.An updated school system and free college 3.Living wage for workers 4.Free Healthcare 5.Better Transportation 6.legal abortions in all states 7.Fixing the jail system 8.Having monthly mental health screenings for political figures 9.A gun ban 10.Free therapy or lower therapy cost
And It’s unattainable/unobtainable to get them all so soon :, they need planning, checking to see if they’re actually possible realistically- honestly, this sounds like Heaven to me (subtract things that include money or having to be safe/make a living) I’d be proud of it too but this is something everyone would have to really be passionately in agreement about before it could all be done

I hope that will not be. I plan my shopping on the advertising. Without it I wouldn't know where to go to get what I need, or how much I shall have to pay for it.
Vermont outlawed Billboards years ago. If you see one here you are near the border.(talking to you New Hampshire) Outlaw prescription drug commercials. The advertising money could be better spent.
I don't even understand the point of prescription drug commercials. As someone with a list of heath issues as long as I am tall, I've been chewed out for asking a doctor to put me back on a med that had helped me in the past. Most of them seem to be threatened by anyone without a medical degree who knows something about medicine. I can only imagine if I went to a doctor and said, "so I saw this as for this drug that's supposed to target some of my symptoms. Can you prescribe it for me?"

It costs the U.S. government approximately $140,000 to fund a child to the age of 18....so, if you don't have any children by the time you hit 50 then how about the government cuts you a check for that amount ?
Annnnd the problem is? (joke) In seriousness, I don't mind paying taxes to support kid-oriented infrastructure and safety nets. I *was* that poor kid who needed the free meal. Mutual, basic human respect. There is so much diversity on earth - of thought, of people - that it is impossible for everyone to be completely and utterly happy with all the different opinions. We shouldn't be aiming to make people have the same opinions as us, and think like us; we should be aiming for mutual respect and understanding. We need to understand that there is no single correct moral code or court of law. And we need to respect everyone, no matter how deeply we disagree with them. (This point, by the way, is in reference to general disagreements, not murder or something. Just for those people who are probably thinking that!) How do we do this? Have spaces where people with diverse opinions, from different backgrounds, can have a voice. Spread the idea that there is no single right way to live life. Most of all, laern to listen. Have conversations. Finally - if you don't agree with me, that's okay! Let's talk about it :)
And yet, some would consider this a whole different opinion that could be forced on people to follow T-T something a human person would do… I didn’t think it, I just thought someone somewhere out there thought it. I shall call this new offended people “The people intolerant of tolerance over intolerance”

Stick to the rules you've created. All the rules are in place to ensure corporations pay taxes, laws are inflexible for the rich, countries must meet emission targets and governments should be secular. Unfortunately because politicians can only reach the heights where they can affect policy by being corrupt and taking massive donations, so it behoves them to not stick to the rules once they hit the top.
Politicians should not make money (except their salaries) while in office. Should not even be able to hold stocks. No politician should become a multimillionaire due to their position. Close all the avenues that cause this to happen.
A device implanted in religious people's ear that quoted, loud enough for those nearby to hear, direct verse and relevant passages at them ANY time they broke their 'sacred texts' laws. Just figure maybe that would keep them actual humble instead of pretend humble, and maybe keep them tf out of everyone elses business, be it spiritual or a lack thereof.
Actually, this would be helpful and I would be grateful to be kept in line! Not to say I don’t knowingly go against my values… I’m an awful person in need of improvement, and I know it 😃
Lots of people are like this, actually! I think people generalize that all religious people are just straight-up evil for some reason. I don’t really get it, because most people I’m around (personally I’m Christian, and my family is too) know that they’re not perfect and that they’re flawed, but they’re all pretty great human beings.

I think the world would be a lot better if we just said what we were thinking *if it's good.* Sometimes I feel nervous to compliment someone I don't know, but wouldn't it be great if random people just walked up to each other and were like, "Hey, I love that sweater you're wearing!" or "You are so beautiful! Have an awesome day!"
I do that sometimes when I feel a bit tired or down when I encounter someone who seems like that too. The smile they react with makes my day so much better. It is not just for selvish reasons, but because I know that they need a boost.
Someone may think you are hitting on them if you compliment their physical appearance though. I’d rather not freak someone out since I’d freak out if someone did that (well, maybe I’d be smitten, but if it’s just a friendly comment, I don’t think anyone wants that reaction or interpretation from the receiver)
Save the animals! Save the environment!

I dunno, just a thought
This was me on a daily basis when I studied at the uni and it was Summer break. 2 months of only occasional human contact. Instead I wrote letters to my pen pals and wrote with them on social media so when I had classes again I would have to re-wire my brain to use my native language again and not English. The amount of "what's the Danish word for [something]?" Was ridiculous for about a month after classes started again. I understood Danish perfectly I just forgot what a lot of words were when I had to use them myself. Lol. Fun times!
I don't say much many times of the day, but if I don't have something to listen to I get in my head and that rarely ends well.
Well, if you already have times of day where you don’t talk, then those could easily be counted as the quiet time! You could choose how long you want your quiet time to be, minimum 15 straight minutes without talking, or something like that
Load More Replies...I've had a few ideas. Some less sane than others but still have potential The first one is that paths and roads have temperature monitors and heat up when it gets below a certain temperature to avoid Black Ice and allows pets that go for walks on freezing grounds to be more comfier. In my eyes although I've hardly done the maths, I think this would help cut down on the use and labour for applying Grit salt onto only major roads, it'd be quicker and it'd cause less accidents While we're on the subject of roads, build a path over existing roads for bikes, automatic scooters and automatic bikes. Not motorbikes though, I think they'd be too heavy so maybe an underground version? I chose the over the road option because then we don't have to dig into the ground to waste time but also the bike path as I'd call it would shield the normal road from weather conditions mostly. Only snowstorms would be a problem and we have the above idea for that. This would help with the issue of Bikes constantly going between traffic, being caught up in accidents, being blamed for stuff even when they didn't do it and I think it'd just be a quality of life improvement. Obviously we can't do that on ever road but the major ones where busses and Lorries can travel would be a good area of coverage I think A work system for people fresh out of prison or those who turn to crime just to get by. This is a huge reason why prisons are filling up rapidly because jobs can't support a living wage. Now sure the obvious answer is to make it so jobs pay a living wage but anyone who's actually worked a job knows that you can't reason with those deluded idiots. They're just too far gone. So what a lot of people do to end up working 40+ hours a week is to work two jobs. That's all well and fine but what about people with records or those who can't land jobs for some reason and have no where else to turn but to steal? So I propose the building of new power stations. Lots and lots of them. You offer on sight training and eventually with a bit of positive reinforcement you have a whole new range of people who are fully trained and can work them for a decent wage meaning they don't have to commit crimes to get by. Obviously those messed up enough to steal and kill still will still be sent to prison but for today, that's not the case for all inmates. And as a bonus this helps with the energy crisis too. We could even have a whole new workforce to help with council service jobs to replace the guys who keep destroying all our roads and bins and everything because they can't be bothered to do their job properly While we're on the subject of jobs. Seriously you giant corporations. Pay. Your. Staff. You might find they actually start to stick around and stop wishing death on you. There is such a thing called Duty of Care, start following it. This is why no one likes you. While I'm here I'd also like to tell my doctor to pick up the phone. My Tendonitis is not going away and I'm still doing all the hard labour jobs for the shop I work at and I'm the one getting blamed for "not trying hard enough" when I've been trying to get ahold of you FOR OVER A YEAR. Yeah, thanks a lot for that one Other small ideas. In my town we have only 1 zebra crossing lights play music for the blind. That needs to be in a lot more places. Like absolutely everywhere. Also people need to learn how to drive. It's a Zebra Crossing, not a street race A separate lane for Busses that have to stop regularly or for emergency services would also be quite good but I do understand that is a lot of work and not entirely feasible in every road. But I think it should help with traffic a bit And finally my ultimate dream idea that's not going to have a chance of being invented any time soon: An app on your phone that when you point it at something, it tells you all the best thing to do. Translations, basic first aid. Common sense. That could really help out when everyone has their faces in their phones all the
The heating this..... isn't that a thing somewhere? Or was it just a test-thing I heard about on the news once? If it's not a thing yet, I propose that it is as solar powered as can be done. :) But the biking-thing.... are you talking about bike lanes? In Denmark they are at the outer side of the roads and are often elevated a little so cars won't drive on it.
After scientists deal with the big stuff, like poverty and cancer, etc., figure out how to stop women from getting periods.
Some birth control pills already do this. Either no period at all or just twice per year. I hated it so much! Sure, it's annoying and sometimes painful to have your period. But it's also a way for your body to show that 1. You are not pregnant and 2. Your body is functioning just fine.
It's possible, but if you mean w/o side effects, then I absolutely agree. Some birth control changes your whole personality!
There is ALWAYS more than one perspective on ANYTHING. Even life and death. Allow people the courtesy to express their perspective(s) free from tyranny and persecution. Trying to force anything, will never equate to much. Closely linked to that, live as honestly as possible. Lies cause nothing but trouble.
Im trying to think… think… thinking… OK. Response: yes, people should not suffocate people into their beliefs. I want to learn a lot about everyone’s perspective, and while I also want to challenge it, if they wouldn’t get offended or shaken I’d respect that and let them try me on my strength of belief. There should be room to discuss without being offended or automatically responding with (or thinking) “This person is stupid.” I admit I slip into this, but at least I have something to aspire towards! Also, I think some principles should be implicated as rules or laws, like basic “be a respectful, kind human bean. Treat others the way you’d want to be treated (kindly if you hate yourself. Found out that loophole, but some people who hate themselves don’t want others to feel what they feel so they’re actually kind. Bullies: that but not kind)”

Sorry, there's a lot of misunderstandings here in the comments. I think this person means organized religion, not faith. Faith is usually good-natured, 'something to hold on to' kind-of-stuff. Organized religion, on the other hand, is a bit more chaotic and can be corrupted easily (Not saying all religion is bad).

We are a Hindu family, we have Muslim friends, all 3 of us. Dad celebrated the breaking of Ramdan's fast with some of his employees, only he did not have beef like they did. Basically, West Bengalhas such a high communal conflict issue because of 3 reasons - a pseudo-dictator of a Chief minister in the form of Mamata Banerjee ( found nowhere else in India ), fanatic Muslims ( found in quite a few places across India ), and an opposition represented almost completely by known conpeople. BJP and Navin Pattnaik's political party should alternate between being the Central Ruling party and the Central Opposition. the other parties should go f*ck themselves into oblivion. However, they must be easily discoverable, as in, should make special sounds when the companion app is activated, so if they are being used to track someone without their consent, the latter can easily discover them. On that note, their import from other countries should be banned to ensure this precaution exists. Legalise Marijuana and Ganja ( Are they the same?). ban Alcohol, Smoking, vaping, and Hookahs.
Why hookahs? They’re pipes for tobacco. In Cairo, I saw people buy tobacco and use hookah in a "bar" like other substances are used everywhere.
Honestly, IDK. But in my city (Kolkata), they got banned like 6 months ago for some untoward incidents( which happens waaay more often due to alcohol, but for some reaon the Municipal Corporation decided Hookahs were to be blamed entirely), and Kolkata is the capital of West bengal, which if you went through the post, you might have a fairly good idea that nothing good comes of this city anyway, so when it is banning what is technically smoking with extra class, i'd say, we need to look into that matter. The more important reason for that last line actually is this: In our Constitution, the people of india ( in practical life, the Government of India ) have sworn that they will work to stop the use of substances that cause harm to human life, such as Tobacco and Alcohol, with an exception to allow the useof the latter in the medical field. And the Government has ignored that statement for 70+ years. Hence, my wish that All kinds of substances that can be abused should be utterly

Be kind. Mind your own business. Just, don't be an @ss. It's pretty simple really. You don't have to like your neighbor or approve of their lifestyle, religion, etc. You pass people on the street, you don't know what they're going through. Act like a human being, and treat others like human beings.
Many people already picked some good ones. Everyone minding their own business is a good one, and respecting people's privacy. Stop filming and shaming strangers at the gym, and especially don't capture anyone in the locker rooms. That's a place of expected privacy and it's illegal. But people do it. One thing would definitely be nice is ending this thug mentality, where if someone asks someone to not smoke/vape/toke around them then the offender thinks it's some sort of disrespect that deserves ending their life. This just happened a couple weeks ago in Vancouver. A family was out somewhere, there was a guy vaping close to the kid. The dad asked the vaper to move. In front of his wife and kid the vaper killed the dad. I really need to stop reading comments on news articles. People were almost defending the killer, saying it was the Dad's fault for being worried about his kid's health and asking someone to move. Some people were hung up on the Dad taking issue with vapes. A few were giving condolences and addressing how senseless it was. One guy said "Think next time before you tell a smoker to move." It's not the first time someone has been killed over menial stuff like that in Canada and it's gotta stop. These people are not as tough and badass as they think they are.
Stop militarizing the police! Give them more training in de-escalation methods. Have alternatives to cops to call for non-threatening situations, such as a naked loony running around the neighborhood at oh-dark-thirty. More funding for helping people with mental health issues, more affordable housing, more assistance for victims of domestic violence, and a livable minimum wage that automatically increases to keep pace with inflation - all those will take burdens off the shoulders of police so they can focus on catching burglars, armed robbers, rapists and kitten-kickers.
If they only give you a hammer, everything starts looking like a nail.
Ban private schools and allow homeschooling only in unusual circumstances. You want your kid to get a good education? Use your money to make public schools better. No opting out.
I think homeschooling should be allowed, but I also DEFINITELY agree about making public schools better. Teachers need to be paid a lot better than they are.
I mildly disagree. There are private schools that are for special needs students that should still run, like schools for blind students/deaf students.
Abolishing private education doesn't mean you can't have specialized schools. There are already public institutions for students with special needs.

Limit terms for political offices and make the politicians live on minimum wage for a year before before being eligible to run. Additionally, free healthcare. The US is the only developed country in the world that does not have universal healthcare.
I 100% agree on term limits but I think every politician should have to be in the military for minimum 4 years as well. Not as an officer either but as a grunt, doing all the basic training etc. I don't know how I feel about full on free healthcare but we definitely need to get rid of the insurance system that makes everything so unaffordable for those who don't have it.

If everyone would ask themselves that, and only a percentage of people decides that adopting is an option for them, and only a percentage of those people actually get approved for adoption, then so many children without homes would be given a home, a family. That's the greatest gift you can give those kids, who really need that. And it seems like nowadays no-one even considers adoption at all, we just automatically choose pregnancy and simply forget that adoption is also possible. So I think as a society, we should normalize asking yourself that question whenever you think about having a child.
I’ve thought about that! Thought about adopting a teen, too. It’s harder to create a good relationship later in their lives, but it’s never too late to make a child’s life filled with more love!! Also, yes, people should stop doing that thing for no reason and creating too many human beings T-T I know it’s not the main issue or only one, but it could lead to a future abortion and why on earth would you be so selfish to go and do that for pleasure and just heave the responsibility off yourself like that? Uh. I'd have a lot of these. We have to adress wealth distribution. So, in order to help the poorest, everyone who isn't rich, and have the rich paying for it, I'd try out the following: Everybody pays the same fraction of their income, XY % of it - and everybody receives the same amount. This should be adjusted so it doesn't change any for the exact average income, anyone above pays more than they receives, anyone below receives more than they pay. Why so? Because unions are too weak nowadays, lacking members, and simply by negotiation of wages, this won't be cured. EVERY figure representing "the economy" or the situation of employers has grown vastly exceeding both minimum wage and average wage, equal to everybody could have a lot more, but only those who already are rich and were back than have benefitted at all. Inflation has exceeded pay raises even before Diktatorewitsch started his war in Ukraine, and it only ever gets worse, while the constant brainwashery somehow has succeeded in displaying unions negotiating a reasonable raise as greedy, and a compromise that covers half the inflation of its timeframe is seen as generous from the employer, and a success to unions and workers. No, it isn't. If even only inflation was what is reflected in raises, there still would be a lot more growth in company's income, and it would by no means be even close to being prohibitively expensive. Companies cry too much, pay too less and generally get away with way, way too much. At least paying a wage that is corrected for inflation, or - even more just - by the company's success should be the bottom of the acceptable, everything below should be met with the representors of the working class leaving the negotiation, laughing. This still would not put a single company in any danger of not being profitable anymore, let alone endanger their existence, while on the other hand, employees are in a state that constantly forces the fear of not earning enough on them. If wealth distribution bears no obligation towards being just and fair, we shouldn't be motivated to create any wealth at all. The employees have taken every toll, have missed out on the behalf of "saving our company" or "avoiding lay-offs" for at least 40 years straight in the west. It should finally be considered enough by every sane person.

Mine would be: Strip all religion of political power. Protesting, are you? Well, how about you stop throwing cans of paint on oil paintings and oil on roads and channel that energy into creating and inventing solutions to the problems you are protesting. Finally, for my top 3, a ban on all aggressive religions. No more standing in streets with placards. No more knocking on doors begging for members. No more letter drops and no more threats to your job. If your religion is sound enough, then it can pull in members without campaigns, or don't you have faith in your religion?
I dunno why ANYONE would do that, unless they’re a zealot (in Christianity at least) and even then it’s because they don’t want people to go through judgment and Hell T-T That’s odd! New information for me then *puts in pocket*

Kinda sad that most of the things on this list SHOULD just be basic human decency and simple common sense. Unfortunately a scary amount of people seem to be lacking one or both.
Holy guacamole guys! Thanks for submitting in my post I was not expecting this many!

(Again, I know that’s not the only reason.)

You could even make it a 20-50 year loan at low or no interest. Lift people up instead of criminalizing them trying to make their life better. Education and jobs would solve all of this. Opportunity.
I had a bully that hated Gay people as his entire family hated gay people as some *gay* people pushed a family member out of a wheelchair over *pronouns*. There should be more education on what the stuff actually is, so now this bully hated gay people and therefore also hates me. I should probably clarify that I am not gay, I am Non-Binary. Also, he told me not to post this, but he bullied me and I'm leaving that school so I'm posting this b***h
