I love the holidays. I think if I had to choose, Thanksgiving would be my favorite.

For me, it's All Hallows Day, the day after Halloween. I like it because I made a deep personal connection with it, and I've been developing traditions of my own on this holiday. I go visit the long-forgotten and unmaintained graves and freshen them up, then I bury my hopes and dreams in a tiny little paper casket with a paper tombstone.
St Stephens Day, or Day of the Wren. It was great when I was a kid and I still enjoy it. Although you don't see many mummers these days.
St Stephens day is the day after Christmas day, or what some call 'Boxing Day'. We also call it Day of the Wren. 'Mummers' are people that come round your house (usually dressed up in costumes made of straw), knock on your door then sing songs and dance. One usually has a fake wren on a pole (apparently it used to be a real one). You give them money for their performance (the money usually goes to a local school or charity). If they give you a feather it's good luck. Some towns make a parade out of it and have a Wren Ball in January.
Load More Replies...I like a lot of holidays, but overall I like Halloween because you can get free candy
I like Diwali because you get to eat a lot of sweets and you get a week off from school. You get to meet all your relatives and get to play with sparklers. In my opinion no other festival can beat diwali.
Not holi cause i don’t like any of the colours getting in my eye or hair. It would take forever to get the colours off of me yet there would still be lots of residue on my nails and other body parts

It’s a festival that takes place towards the start of November and planning is done at least a week before in October. A lot of sweets are eaten on those four days and beautiful rangolis (designs made of a kind of powder) are drawn at the entrance of every building.
Load More Replies...No surprise here, mine is Christmas. People seem generally happier during this time.
I like the end of the year because the weather is better, the traffic is lower and i have vacations, but the part that has to do with christmas is awful, specially a couple of days before THAT date. Absolutelly EVERY single supermarket and mall is full of people shopping. I hate when people feel the pressure to do something just because everybody else does it.
I detest Christmas...it was always so stressful because we were really poor and my parents would be trying to get us stuff that they could afford but that would also seem special to us, which was hard because, you know poor! Also, it turns out I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, so there’s that...
Halloween cos i like spooky things! 🦇🕷🎃
I mentally celebrate the Spring Equinox because that means we’re finally heading out of darkness! I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, so light is everything.
Seasonal Affective Disorder is when a person’s brain can’t create enough serotonin to keep them from falling into depression, because serotonin is created by exposure to a specific spectrum of light.. In the vernacular it’s been known as the Winter Time Blues. And there are antidepressants that work specifically to keep the serotonin circulating in your endocrine system longer to keep your brain from going lethal. Of all the versions of depression out there, this one has the highest suicide rate. I would not have made it out of my thirties without them.

"Halloween.(^O^☆♪ Halloween. This is Halloween." *♫♪.ılılıll|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|llılılı.♫♪* ("Dancing" to the song from "The Nightmare Before Christmas.") Although TECHNICALLY NOT a "holiday," HALLOWEEN is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE time of year. It is the ONE day where you can dress up/ be ANYTHING or ANYONE and NOT be JUDGED. UNLESS, of course, you are in a costume contest. But hey, YOU put yourself in that situation, correct?! Besides, I treat EVERY DAY(EXCEPT Halloween) as if it were "Christmas." Showing kindness, giving to those in need- W/O asking for anything in return, treating EVERYONE with DIGNITY and RESPECT. You know, the things we as Human beings are SUPPOSED to do for each other regularly.

You are so on point with this one. My family always does a gratitude list before we eat. Kids are hilarious for some of the thanks they give. My 3yr old grandson is thankful for his brother's diapers cause poop is gross.

As a Pagan my favorite sabbat (holiday) is Samhain or All Hallows’ Eve (Halloween) it’s also known as the third and final harvest. It’s said that on this day the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest so we connect and celebrate our ancestors and loved ones who’ve crossed over :)
I'd share a picture of my altar with you but I can't upload photos here with my phone :(
Sounds interesting. Can you explain that more. How do you celebrate this
My apologies I just now saw this! My ritual includes decorating my sacred space (my altar) with pictures of my family and friends who've passed on. An offering to my deity (for me it's Kali-Ma Hindu goddess) of fruit of the season (I like gourds and apples) and a ceremony of lighting candles and recalling my favorite memories of them. Sometimes I speak to them out loud and wait for signs like candle flame movement that isn't from any breeze. Sometimes I've use my spirit boards (Ouija boards) or Nordic runes and ask questions. For me it's a time of reflection and honoring memories :)

Halloween for the creepy, the spooky, and the scary. Its Halloween every day in my house. I dislike Christmas with a fiery passion. What meaning there was of it has been long lost years ago and heavily drowned out by commercialism and consumerism. Thanksgiving is basically a joke and quietly slips by as people just anxiously await Christmas as soon as autumn comes. We pretend it means family, togetherness, and thankfulness and pilgrims and native Americans sharing a meal but what is really is is remembrance of when settlers raped native Americans of everything.
I do miss how those two holidays made me feel as a kid. They were special

It used to be christmas eve since we celebrate it here in Sweden the 24th. In our family our christmas started in the morning when our dad used to bring in the christmas tree in the morning and the whole family decorated it together in our pj's. After that we would get dressed and eat the most amazing dinner with so many different dishes from both Sweden and Finland. In the afternoon we would gather in the couch and watch a show that broadcasts every year and the adults would fall asleep during that hour. Then santa would show up and distribute the christmas gifts and then we would finnish our christmas eve at the local church's midnight mass. Now i'm all grown up, my parents are divorced, my sisters have their own families and I'm single. This year I will be working the whole christmas weekend...
Halloween. Always has been. I've always enjoyed the spooky decorations, costumes, movies, etc. The origin of the holiday fascinated me when I grew older and started learning about it. I'm 48 and still dress up every year. I stopped with wearing costume masks due to the difficulties of breathing, getting sweaty, and seeing out of them. I've since started doing my own makeup. Much more satisfying as it's something I personally did and not just bought.
Christmas because I love the holiday season, the snow, and spending time with my family during this period.
I love the season but very much dislike that it has become so commercialized. That part makes me sad.
Christmas because we developed a lot of unintentional traditions in our family, and they make me feel warm and fuzzy.
We have several traditions. I think my favorite is reading The Night Before Christmas to the kids
summer, because of summer!
Christmas because I love listening to the Christmas music,be with family, opening presents
