I worked in a family shop and learned how an engine works, how to change oil and tires, and I learned how to drive our tractor, amongst other things.

I got the quick test and stayed at home as required by my job, without getting my wife infected. That was months ago. Things have returned to normal and she still hasn't contracted the illness.

I started turning our outside space, which was a very old, muddy, quite derelict builders yard, into a real garden: it regularly gets waterlogged because it's so flat, so I've created raised heaps interspersed with sunken areas filled with rocks and gravel- this should help when we get lots of rain... Fingers crossed! I've planted the heaps with wildflowers and spring bulbs and such, and am planning a rain garden soon. I hope to see lots of bees and butterflies this year! I also tried growing various vegetables, and got a few crops of potatoes- but my carrots didn't get any bigger than my finger... I have much to learn! Every morning I look out at my daffodils and crocuses and try to see what's grown... It gives me so much joy!
