There are 3 stairwells in my school, one of them is super convenient because it’s the closest one to the labs, the library, the grounds and the entrance. The other two are just there for the sake of being there. The school made a stupid rule that girls and boys should use the other stairwells with girls using one stairwell while boys should use the other. If a girl gets caught on the boy stairwell or vice versa then you get yelled at

This rule only really affected me and few of my friends. Which is why we thought it was so stupid.

To set the scene: During my Jr High School years (grades 7 & 8, ages 13 & 14) our local Jr High School was less than 200 yards away from my neighborhood. My house was actually the closest one to the school. Less than a 5 min walk I'm sure. My friends and I walked to and from school every day, unless it was pouring rain or something.

But, could we go home for the 1/2 hour lunch period and eat from our own refrigerator? NO! Because the school had a "Students may not leave school grounds during school hours" rule.

So we had to stand in line (which could be longer than 5 min ), pay for, and eat, the school lunch in the school cafeteria instead.

Not to say that I (and my friends) didn't slip out and run home as often as we could -- thus saving our lunch money for more important things -- but we weren't supposed to and risked punishment if we got caught.

We had to go to church every Sunday at boarding school. Catholics at some stupid time like 6am (don't ask me why). Us CofE lot were either 11am (mostly) or 5.30pm (sometimes). And if you were Jewish or Islamic or whatever? Chores. You get to clean stuff. That, to me, seemed unreasonable. Punishing people for not being Christian? Especially given as how all but a couple of us wouldn't go at all if it was optional because it wasn't even a religious school? That was unfair.
