This has probably been asked a lot, but I wanted to ask it anyways. I don't have many unpopular opinions, other than the fact that the only condiment I like is mayo.

I don't mind pineapple on pizza. Okay, roast me!
“Fruit doesn’t belong on pizza” WHAT IS A TOMATO THEN?! Have you not heard of fruit pizza either?!
Yeah, but pineapples don't come from Italy. (Neither do tomatoes, but...)
Load More Replies...Right there with you! You have to enjoy eating sweet and savory foods together.
I dibt admit it to some people, but I've had it and it isn't all that bad. Not sure why everyone is hating the pineapple thing. 😁
I live with 2 pizza pineappleans and I try to be cool but they will often look up at me while eating it and say "What?" so I don't think I hide it well 🤢
I don't like pineapple at all (the texture gets to me) but don't see why others shouldn't enjoy it on pizza, especially since it goes well with ham, which has been a common pairing for decades.
I do not believe that there is a 'correct time' to eat any meal. I understand that you cannot eat very heavy meals very late at night. But if you eat early I do not see an issue of making a dish typically made for lunch as dinner. Specially nowadays when most people do not eat lunch at home because of work. It might seem dumb but in my country eating certain things (like paella) for dinner is seen as a sacrilege.
If it's food and my stomach wants it then I eat it regardless of time. Try to steer away from heavy late at night before bed but other than that, any food is breakfast, lunch or dinner food
Ice cream for breakfast (usually because the power has gone out or freezer broke so we had to eat the ice cream) is always amazing too!
Load More Replies...American cheese is not cheese. It is a sweetened plastic product. I love cheese, but blue cheese and American cheese are the worst. American cheese makes me want to vomit 🤮🤮
EXACTLY. I should've put that.
Load More Replies...Dutch goat cheese is really good. Food is just better in Europe [except for in Italy. I mean it's not bad but it wasn't amazing either.].
Australia has some amazing cheese! I really want to go to King Island to visit one of their cheeseries. I would love to visit Europe too, I think most of my time would be spent eating!
Load More Replies...American cheese isn't bad, but it so isn't worth the cholesterol and calories. Blue cheese, though... mmmmm.... Gorgonzola....
I really like blue cheese. As a kid I never thought I would, but now I know how amazing it is!
Avocados are good :)
I'm in my late-ish 50s and I've been eating avocados since I was little. Like early elementary school little. I thinks it's funny (in a cute way) that everyone is finally discovering that avocado on toast is AMAZING!
I love avocado but can't eat it anymore! Having IBS sucks! I can't even get sushi rolls a lot of the time because they have either avocado or cucumber :( At least sashimi is good.
Anything grape flavored is terrible. I know it's such a popular flavor, but it all tastes like grape medicine. It's not even sweet. They all taste the same. AND NONE OF THEN EVEN TASTE LIKE GRAPES.
If I remember right, grape flavoring doesn't taste like grapes because the grape it was based off no longer exists.
I've heard that's the case with a lot of fruity-flavored sweets!
Load More Replies...I know one exception to this. If you guys have ever heard of Nerds candy you know that there is a grape flavour. Doesn’t taste a ton like grape but it doesn’t taste bad.
I guess that nerds grape is the better out of all the grapes. Not my favorite, but it's still tolerable
Load More Replies...Tastes like an American fruit, concord grapes, that are actually a different species than "real" grapes. Small, very round, bluish and having a strong, very distinctive flavor not found in wine grapes.
Grape jolly ranchers, I will not touch them! Skittles and froot loops are fine though, mostly froot loops are the same flavor 🙃
Me too, but I like that cough syrup better than the blackcurrant or supposedly cherry flavour!
Load More Replies...I actually love oatmeal raisin cookies…. sometimes over chocolate chip cookies if the day’s right, pls don’t judge lol
Me too. I have my whole life and never been sick so use that as justification not to stop!
Load More Replies...I've never tried them, because we don't really have them in Australia. In fact if we did we wouldn't call them oatmeal. They look similar to ANZAC biscuits with raisins added so I think they would be nice.
Oatmeal raisin cookies are actually really good. And to me they Taste so satisfying. Sometimes better than chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes not but people treat them bad
Caramel lover here but never got the salted caramel craze. Blech. Sorry.
Me too, even though I never liked caramel as a kid. I still don't like the runny caramel like in Caramello Koalas, but most others are good. My sister used to work in a vegan chocolate factory and their salted caramel chocolate is really nice, even though it's white chocolate which I normally don't like.
Load More Replies...Bacon, eggs, hash browns...breakfast for dinner, ymmmmm..
It use to be a treat at our house. However, on a side note, as a child, we were dirt poor and we RARELY were fed breakfast.....nothing, NADA. Same for lunch. We were lucky to have a dinner where I didn't leave the table STILL hungry!
Sounds yummy and yes it awesome love doing breakfast love breakfast for dinner
Hash browns were never a breakfast food when I was growing up, they were only ever served for tea (dinner). I think it was the influence of American companies like McDonalds that started making them common for breakfast. Bacon and eggs on the other hand were eaten at anytime of day :)
I absolutely hate ketchup!
Ehhh... it's picked tomato paste. The added sugar is so they can use not-so-sweet tomatoes.
Load More Replies...My brother hates tomatoes but loves ketchup. Which really makes no sense since ketchup is made from tomatoes.
Same with my sister, but she does eat passata as well. I think it must be because the fresh tomatoes are not as sweet and maybe the texture too (she has ASD so is sensitive to certain textures). I must admit I don't like fresh tomato as much, and hate the skins.
Load More Replies...I don't hate it (actually that depends on the brand), just don't see the need for it for most foods. It is essential to my meatloaf recipe though. I made it once with passata instead and it just wasn't right.
I only eat ketchup on hamburger and sometimes by my fries. I don't really like the smell
Bread and Ketchup. No questions asked
RIGHT?? it is my go-to comfort food
Load More Replies...I haven't heard this. Just bread and ketchup? I'm seriously asking, I'm not trying to be insulting or anything.
Yes. Apply the ketchup similar to how you apply jam on bread. Just slather on a generous amount and eat it like a sandwich. It is delicious. But don’t put too much ketchup, it makes the bread soggy.
Load More Replies...Yeah, my sister used to eat that often. Then again, she did eat a sour cream sandwich once, and a whipped cream one too, so not sure about her judgement.
The best wing is the flat. Period.
What's a flat wing? (We don't eat wings as much as Americans do, and my family decided not to eat them at all because there is so little meat on them they seem like a waste of money)
Anything ketchup can do, BBQ sauce does 1000x better. Ketchup should not be a thing.
Why are people downvoting this? This is their opinion. These are supposed to be controversial food opinions, not stuff that only you agree with
There was a higher post about ketchup being mostly sugar. It's not true. But BBQ sauce is sorta like ketchup with tons of sugar added.
Ice cream for breakfast!
If there was a pie or cake leftovers I would have that for breakfast.
Me too- best thing about the day after a party. Pavlova is the best though, because refrigerating it changes it a bit.
Load More Replies...Cilantro is nasty! Tastes like soap. Ketchup tastes to much like vinegar.
I don't like cilantro either. However, the reason it tastes like soap to some but not everyone is due to a gene. https://www.allrecipes.com/article/why-does-cilantro-taste-like-soap/
I do not have the gene and it doesn't taste like soap to me but I still hate it as well as mint
Me too! Plus both mess with my stomach anyway. Fennel is horrible too.
Load More Replies...I don't like cilantro (actually we call the whole plant, including the herb coriander) but I don't think it tastes like soap. More like a bitter, almost spicy thing. It also gives me reflux so I can't eat it anyway. Thankfully mum doesn't like it either so I didn't have to put up with it as a kid. Coriander seeds on the other hand I love.
Lobster - keep your sea cockroaches far away from me.
Lobster mashed potatoes! Butter poached lobster poured over decadent roasted garlic mashed potatoes. OMG!!!
Load More Replies...In Egypt Egyptian beans is very popular most days I eat it at breakfast but sometimes I have it at lunch not breakfast and sometimes I have it at dinner not breakfast nor lunch , the amazing about Egyptian beans that it's eaten since Pharaohs till now and it's suitable for any of the 3 meals but no one bears eating it at the 3 there's also falafel it can be eaten with beans.
Yes. My hubby is Egyptian and we eat this often. It's fava beans and called foul in Arabic. Very high in protein and we eat it with eggs and feta. Absolutely delicious.
We call them broad beans in Australia (though sometimes fava beans) and they are popular in soups.
Load More Replies...I think filet mignon is overrated. I'd prefer skirt steak or hanger steak any day.
I've never tried skirt or hangar steak- you can't get them in supermarkets here, but maybe butchers. I'm not a big steak eater but sizzle steak is nice
I guess the best way to describe skirt steak is it has a richer, more beefy flavor.
Load More Replies...Cheddar cheese and apple slices. My teacher introduced it to me and I really liked it.
So good. I used to love adding a tiny bit of cashew butter to the apple and cheddar
Mustard makes Mac n cheese taste cheesier.
I've only recently gotten into mustard, because as a kid I only tried American mustard and mustard powder which I didn't really like. Now I have had wholegrain mustard I love it and add it to so many things!
Cheese filled hot dogs are disgusting. When I was younger, my mom bought hot dogs and when I bit into one, it tasted weird. I asked her what it was and she said it was a hot dog. NO, DUH! I asked her what was inside of it and she said it was cheese. Cheese in the hot dogs? Yes. My mom said they're good. I said no they're not. I refused to eat the rest of the hot dog. My mom did this two more times trying to convince me they were good. No thanks. If I don't like something once, there's no way you'll ever get me to like it.
I think there good but that just me lol. But I don't like cheddar jalapeno hotdogs
I've never heard of these but I don't like hot dogs or sausages at all.
Salted liquorice (i.e. the "ammonium chloride" kind) from the Netherlands or Denmark is the best. Fries with ketchup and mayo ("Pommes Schranke", "railway level crossing barrier fries" in German) are better than with ketchup alone. The Dutch version with mayo and chopped onions isn't bad, too. And then there are cheese filled tortellini with soy sauce.
I think I prefer it with both tomato sauce and mayo, but I usually eat fries with sweet chilli sauce and Greek yoghurt these days. I don't like liquorice at all, so no ouzo or absinthe for me either :) I have never tried cheese tortellini with soy sauce, but it would be similar to dumplings with soy sauce, which I usually have with sweet chilli sauce instead.
I LOVE ketchup sandwiches, goat cheese, and dark chocolate.
Update: Goat cheese is actually gross nvm lmao
As long as it's not too dark. My sister accidentally bought my brother 95% dark chocolate and it was not good! It can be used in cooking though so wasn't wasted :)
Load More Replies...I always mix sweet and salty popcorn when we go to the cinema. And then my friends and those behind the counter look at me as if I have two heads.
We can only get salted popcorn at cinemas here, unless you buy a bag of the coloured popcorn, which they don't always stock because not many people buy it.
Spaghetti is over rated. And bacon. And hamburgers. You'd never know how offended people could be lol
Bacon I agree with, but I am in love with pasta and also love burgers. I feel offended lol.
I agree, spaghetti and burgers are overrated, but bacon is just awesome.
Load More Replies...I rarely eat spaghetti or burgers now I'm only cooking for myself. Bacon I love, but I'm not great at cooking it, so often only eat it when I'm camping with my brother :)
There is no "one-type-fits-all" diet. What works for me might not work for you and vice versa.
Cilantro is TERRIBLE!
Cilantro itself is not terrible. The problem is that some people like me or likely this submission author is that we have a gene that enhances the chemicals in cilantro. Cilantro has lots of properties used in soap and as a result it tastes like soap for us!
Yep - here is an article about it https://www.allrecipes.com/article/why-does-cilantro-taste-like-soap/
Load More Replies...I don't have the gene, it doesn't taste like soap to me but I still hate the flavor as well as mint. Some parsley even bothers me. Really just dont like the flavor
There is a even a Facebook page called I hate coriander. I personally don't know anyone who likes it!
My brother does but that's the only person I know I think.
Load More Replies...Bacon is repulsive!!!
Ohhh also I can't stand the taste of artificial banana flavor either!!!
Oh my god yes! It's disgusting 🤮
Load More Replies...Oreos are bad
Use to love them when I was a kid now they just Taste like creamed sugar and chocolate but I like cookies and cream ice cream
I really don't like oreos- the biscuit tastes weird, like dark chocolate with no sugar and very bland. Other brands of choc cream biscuits are so much better! I don't eat them often though because I like to eat the biscuit dipped in tea then eat the icing, an I don't want to do that in public!
I don’t like cheese. At all. Or any Dairy products really. There’s a few exceptions to that second one though.
Yeah I'm not a big fan. I like ice cream, but I do prefer popsicles anyway. Milk for me is disgusting.
That would be an unpopular opinion in my house but I get why some people don't like it.
I don't like beer and wine. None of it, no matter what type, what brand. In almost 30 years of living on this Earth I never encountered any beer or wine I ever liked and I've tried a lot of them.
Lots of people don't and that's perfectly fine. I can see why you wouldn't. I'm not a big beer drinker (even less so now I can't have gluten) but the taste is harsh a lot of the time. Wine I do drink more, but again I can understand not liking it, it can hit the palette weird. My brother's girlfriend doesn't like them either, or any alcohol really, so at our most recent get together I made sure to buy a variety of 'fancier' non-alcoholic drinks and found a lime mineral water which was amazing and I will be buying more lol.
Brussel sprouts are good!
If cook well I love them! I did accidently stuff up a recipe (after craving brussels sprouts for ages) and so they became really bitter and I couldn't eat them, even after drowning them in sauces!
I don’t like chicken! Most people then assume I’m a vegetarian but I’m just a red meat girl! I don’t do seafood either 🤮🤢
I don't like seafood. I like my chicken and fish to be breaded. If it ant or any cooked with spices I don't want it
Sounds like my sister. If we go to a pub, she will 95% of the time order a chicken schnitzel.
Load More Replies...I'm not a big fan of meat in general (though I do like seafood). If the meat is cooked in a dish, with sauces and veggies and stuff it's ok, but on it's own, no thank you. It's a bit difficult when my family want to have BBQs most times we catch up, but I just stick to salad then.
No seafood, only canned tuna. It's just so tasteless to me, it's wasted on me. Not that I haven't tried. Also, I hate ketchup. Never liked it. Not even on pizza
Ewwww! Ketchup on pizza? There's pizza sauce but it's definitely not ketchup!
The only seafood my sister will eat is tinned tuna. She loves ketchup (tomato sauce) though, will put it on most meats.
I don't like pizza. Sorry! I mean, I still eat it with my family sometimes, but like, when we go to a pizza place I always opt for something else.
I still like it, but when I was in training the company would buy it for us every single Thursday. I was so damn sick of it and didn’t eat it for a long time.
Same thing happened to me for a while- most Fridays my family would buy pizza when I was a late teen/early 20s, because we could finally afford to splurge on take away but my sister wouldn't really eat much else. Even now I usually suggest something different if we get take away but will eat pizza if chosen.
Load More Replies...I sometimes I don't want to eat pizza. I'm curious though what makes you not like pizza?
I'm not totally sure. I have always been a pasta girl, and also love bread. I've never been in love with the toppings, but that can be solved by eating cheese pizza. I guess I just don't like the type of sauce, or maybe the greasyness.
Load More Replies...Not a fan of pizza, and pizza with ketchup is disgusting. I’ll it it only if I’m starving. Big lover of pepperoni though.
The cariocas - Brazilians fro Rio de Janeiro...
Load More Replies...The Cariocas - people from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!
Load More Replies...I am not a fan of white chocolate because it gives me migraines. Don’t like Chardonnay for the same reason. White Zinfandel is basically pink rubbing alcohol whereas real Zinfandel is amazing. Finally, never impressed with lobster or crab legs because the parts don’t equal the labor.
If you get sick, eating something then that's not controversial. I can't drink any zero/diet drinks or else I get sick.
If it's specifically zero/diet then you may have an allergy or sensitivity to the artificial sweetener. I'm allergic to sucralose (Splenda) and it makes my mouth and tongue feel coated, I get mucousy and it feels like my tongue is swelling even when it's not; sometimes even feel like I'm dehydrated like after a night of drinking. It sucks cuz they even put that c**p in certain medicines
Load More Replies...I agree, white chocolate is the worst. Dont hate me for that, but I personally think dark/milk chocolate is way better.
I don't hate you at all, chocolate milk IS better, way better than white milk
Load More Replies...I've never tried those wines, except chardonnay. I don't usually drink chardonnay as it is often too acidic but I tried a more expensive one at a winery recently and loved it because it tasted really different. In fact all the wines I tried at that particular winery were amazing, including all the reds which I don't usually like. There were a lot of surprising flavours but all were really smooth. I ended up buying two bottles despite the price!
Ah lobster, the cockroach of the sea that was once fed to prisoners and is somehow now a "delicacy." Honestly anyone who likes lobster just likes melted butter.
Soy Sauce+Waternelon
Makes sense. I know several people who like melon (more often honeydew or "cantelope," which where I'm from usually refers to muskmelon) with salt.
Yeah there is some scientific explanation my grandad taught me that I've forgotten but the gist was something about acidity and sugars. Things like putting pepper on strawberries makes them sweeter. Also sour cream on strawberries is good.
Load More Replies...That sounds interesting! I would love to try it.
Load More Replies...I hate black beans!!!
I've never eaten them enough to remember what they taste like, but I gather they are really popular in Mexican and American cooking, so I imagine if you are from there they would be hard to avoid.
I love Pizza with anchovies and onions. The salty fishs and the sweet onion when baked. Awesome!
I can see that. I wouldn't order it but I would definitely try if offered
I love anchovies on pizza, which is weird because I usually don't like really salty things. I can't eat onion though (IBS sucks. Plus raw onion triggers my migraines)
Ketchup on my poutine and Ketchup with hot sauce on my sheperds pie
I could see my stepdad putting hot sauce (but probably not ketchup) on his Shepard's pie. I want to try poutine, but I'm wary of the gluten and lactose content.
Turkey bacon is SO MUCH BETTER than regular bacon. Also wheat bread is better than white
I've never heard of turkey bacon. Is it just thinly sliced turkey that is fried? And is wheat bread the same as wholemeal or wholegrain? I prefer whole grain most of the time, but sometimes I really crave just white bread or white toast with butter, now that I've found a gluten free one that tastes like real bread.
Grill cheese with mustard, NOT ketchup!
Better yet, PLAIN GRILLED CHEESE! Not with American cheese though, instead try Munster cheese with it!
Never heard of putting ketchup on grilled cheese, but I can imagine some people liking it. I like mustard on my grilled cheese, but whole grain not American. Also sweet chilli sauce and mayo together on grilled cheese is nice. Or vegemite. Oops, you shouldn't have gotten me started lol. Plus, us Aussies also love jaffles, which are like a grilled cheese but instead of cooking them on a flat grill/sandwich toaster, they are made on a jaffle maker, which is similar to the Target pastry maker that was really popular online a while ago, but the hollows are triangular, so when it is cooked your bread has two triangular pockets and you can cut through the middle to serve. We put things like cheese and vegemite on jaffles, but the really popular one that is different to a grilled cheese is tinned spaghetti because the pockets in the jaffle contain it well.
Really!? Hmm, maybe its just a Canadian thing to have a side to dip with, lol

I can't stand bell peppers. Change my mind.
We call them capsicum in Australia but I agree! I had to pick them out of a lot of food when I was growing up.
I Don't like berries (except strawberries) or any sort of berry flavored thing including pastries with berries in them
I love Brussels sprouts, and broccoli. I really really hate any chocolate, yes including dark chocolate and including milk chocolate. Even chocolate ice cream or cake is a huge no thanks for me!
I love brussels sprout and broccoli (and even better, broccolini) but I also love chocolate (except white). I get why people don't like chocolate though, my sister doesn't either.
Ranch flavored anything. Dressing. Chip dip. Chip flavor. Dried ranch powder in seasoning. I do not understand the ranch obsession, and I’m American too. It’s nasty and repulsive. The smell alone makes me want to vomit.
Never had it, but apparently it is like the dressing we put on potato salad in Australia, which I do like. My sister doesn't like it though.

Sausage and peppers is disgusting. I'm a proud italian-american and grew up going to church bazaars where all the aunts and grandmas would be cooking it under these huge tents. Just the smell of it cooking makes me nauseous. I haven't ever been able to stomach it. I can't understand why people go so crazy over it.
I hate sausages, and the smell (which you have to walk past most weekends to get into the hardware store Bunnings) turns my stomach too. My mum and stepdad kept trying to get me to get different flavoured sausages, because their favourite meal is BBQ, but I hated them all.
Peanut butter, mayonnaise and American cheese sandwiches are fantastic. It is my go-to sandwich.
Hmm, peanut butter and mayo. I've never tried it but it sounds interesting. I don't usually like peanut butter with sweet things like chocolate but I did try it with banana and it wasn't bad. The American cheese I'm not so sure about. I've never tried it (I'm Australian) and the colour seems off putting to ma, but I want to try it to see if the taste is okay. I do like peanut butter and Australian tasty cheese.
Apples and mariana sauce. Apples and hummus are good too.
Apple and hummus I think would taste nice but marinara sauce (which we just call tomato/pasta sauce here) I'm not so sure about, but that might be because I don't like the strong tomato taste unless it's in a dish like pasta.
Water tastes terrible!
Depends where it's from. I like Melbourne water, but not Adelaide water.
I HATE Indian food!
I used to think I did too, but that was because all we'd ever had was hot curries like vindaloo, but now I cook and eat a lot of Indian food I love.
I don't like pasta or noodles.
I said it was unpopular.
Load More Replies...I love them. And making noodles for stroganoff while I'm typing this lol
Is it the texture? I have a friend who doesn't like any form of dumpling and I think it's because of the texture since he doesn't even like golden syrup dumplings.
