Bonus daughter = step daughter. And I am her bonus mom = step mom. She is my fiance's daughter. In addition to the man I love, I also got a daughter I adore, so yeah she is a 'bonus daughter' and we have a great relationship. The term doesn't have the negativity associated with step moms (at least in fairy tales), lets her know I am not trying to replace her biological mom (who died a few years before I met them) and she chose it (I told her she could decide how we wanted to be introduced).

Looks beautiful but don't they have a bad smell? How do you keep them indoors?

    Community Member
4 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

So, when I originally bought it, I didn't realise what I was buying until I got home and read up on it. I thought I was buying the same plant I had seen in a friend's garden. Turned out to be different varieties. When it bloomed I was so excited at how beautiful it was and then got really nervous because I thought it was going to smell like rotting flesh. I braced myself and went in for a wiff and thank the universe, nothing. Figured it would start smelling as it wilted perhaps. It eventually did start smelling funky but then you really have to put your nose all up in there and take a deep breath. Definitely noticed a couple of flies checking it out but nothing major and noticed my dogs giving it a sniff. Also, I don't keep it inside. It stays outside.

DEFINITELY keep ANY TYPE OF LILY PLANTS far far away from cats. If the cat ingests ANY PART OF ANY LILY it will cause liver/kidney failure. I love Stargazer Lilies. Whenever I have a bouquet, I put them in my office - the only room we keep the door closed.
