Share anecdotes about your writer's block!

I take a break from trying to force an idea out, I watch movies and shows, read other works, and take inspiration from it all and patch it together in a new way for my own writing. Also, real life events make for great source material. So far the story I’m writing borrows ideas from Star Wars, Dune, my own experience as a child of parents who want me to choose a particular career, as well as geopolitical issues like Israel and Palestine, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and Kashmir disputes.

Um... have you tried yelling at your characters until they cooperate? That usually works for me. Can't write currently because mental health, but honestly I just write on like 12 stories at the same time so that whenever I hit a block on one I just go to another. Sorry, that's probably not very helpful.

Writing a supplement to the story. There is a trick for something easier: Remove the reason you wrote a story and it will be fine (Source: Joss Whedon, Angel season 3, episode 13 "Waiting in the Wings" dvd commentary).
