Online: 1. Join a fandom. Then you already know that you have at least one thing in common. Discord is full of fandoms just waiting to be joined. 2. Join a pet enthusiast group and make friends for your dog first, and then for yourself.🤣 You can do it on Instagram or Facebook or Reddit. IRL: 1. Volunteer in your community and/or get a part-time job at a local store/bank/restaurant. You'll meet more people than you probably want to.😄 2. Become a "regular" at a coffee shop or library or pool. I have a few friends that I have met online. One of them lives in a totally different state and we found each-other on Instagram (through Bookstagram) and then connected over our love of books and dogs and Loki.😂 All my other friends I made through community involvement.
