The Washington Monument, Seen Through Cherry Blossoms
I *dearly* wish it hadn't been so overcast that day! The colors are all washed out.
I think the overcast looks good! It is sort of soothing.
Load More Replies...Thanks! The framing was a lucky find. I was doing my annual walk around the tidal basin to look at the cherry blossoms, and it was not long after I got my first digital camera (no smartphones yet). This was a 2 MP unit styled like a 35 mm film camera. I was looking for a place to get a good shot of the monument and found those branches, like a frame.

Firestorm From Grand Lake Colorado Fire October 2020
This is from the fire exploding on the other side of the Great Divide from us. The official name was the "East Troublesome Fire" and it did cross the Divide but never got any closer to us. We were still prepped for evacuation.
Wetlands, Kittery Point, Maine, USA
It is gorgeous! It looks like a movie set for some eerie thriller.

It looked better before the post resized it, I swear! XD
I have the same feelings about resizing of photos for this post, but I still like Bored Panda. Nice photo, regardless!

Winter In The Mexican War Streets, Pittsburgh
All of the streets are named for a person or place in the war with Mexico. They were laid out in 1847. Most of the houses were built pre-civil war. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_War_Streets

Chicago
Is this the Loop? It looks like the Ravenswood in the background. If you’ve watched The Blues Brothers you might recall the apartment with the El right outside the window.
I shot it crouching on a ledge in the area of Grant Park, which is in The Loop. I believe that street is Michigan Avenue. Behind me when I shot this photo is Lake Michigan. It is an interesting, gorgeous part of the city when the weather is warm,

Beach Under Wave - Photo Taken A Moment Before Getting Soaked
This photo is all over the internet, and appears to have been taken by a photographer named Clark Little. Is that you?
This. is definitely Clark Little's photo. BP needs to take it down.

Captain Archie, He Just Loved Being On The Boat, Not Afraid Of Anything. Pic Taken On A Lake In North Quebec
I really want to see this cropped and straightened. Archie is adorable so he needs to be the focus of the photo. I understand you probably like your boat too so it could be cropped as portrait mode to feature him and the boat, and skip some of the lake. BP only allows one photo per comment so I stitched them together. I edited out the other boat and wake because it was right above his head and he really just needs his ears up there. (I view “pricked” ears as the true form of dog ears but that’s because I’ve always had Northern dogs.) I tried to sharpen the image, which is plenty large, but that would take more time. I used only the native iOS photo editor, Retouch, and Smart Resize. I’m not sure what I’d use to de-pixelate the image overall since that can be a challenge. I cleaned his ears up a tiny bit with Retouch, although that’s not really the intended use of the app. Decentering him gives a closer crop without losing more clarity- IMG_3496-6...0-jpeg.jpg

Five Deer Under Our Old Apple Tree
This is from our old family farm in PA, back in the early 2000s, I believe, looking out from outside the back door of the farmhouse. Just off frame to the right is our old summer house. Foreground is the ancient picket fence from the 1920s or 1930s, with a homemade bird feeder. Under the apple tree, on the left, is the fence marking a corner of Mom's vegetable garden (about 1/3 of an acre).
