The most frustrating part of feral care is that they don't understand that you are trying to help them. They are often their own worst enemy. I've had several experiences like yours, where they disappear after a trapping attempt. And when they return it is often too late and all you can do is end their suffering. But sometimes you get to watch a great recovery. Caring for a feral colony can be heartbreaking but when a feral Learns to trust you, that moment makes it all worth while. Hope you both have many happy years together.

I already did all of that. No one we know personaly would want to donate money for a cat. Plus, we're trying to keep the actual cost a secret because our families would get mad if they knew how much we spent already. And I've been on the phone with multiple organizations and have spent hours on google. We don't have anyone who wants to help in our area. No one cares about stray cats it seems
