Artist Can’t Eat Sweets Due To Health Problems So He Creates Them From Porcelain Instead
Shayna Leib is an American glass blowing artist, who creates intricate and unique pieces of art. Her latest project "Pâtisserie" was created to express the importance, beauty, power and ... unattainability of desserts.
Shayna can't have desserts because of very severe dietary restrictions so she had to train her mind to see these intricate sweets as shapes, form, rather than food. The artist combined her love for glass and porcelain when creating these mouth-watering sculptures.

Artist Can’t Eat Sweats ? Who can eat sweats? These are all so beautiful though.
The tuile appears to be crisp and delicate as if it would nearly dissolve in the mouth. I looks as if you could dig in to the ganache beyond the light fluffy whipped cream and swirl a spoon into the gooey glaze. WOW! I want to eat it.

I wish to find the Patisserie where I can indulge in the actual food versions of each of these delightful desserts. As it is my imagination is making my mouth water.
I feel like I couldn't afford one of these desserts if it was real, and I really couldn't afford one of these amazing sculptures!
p.s. Would be awesome if some enterprising chefs created edible ones to put alongside the sculptures.
Load More Replies...Imagine having one of these on your table. And someone unknowingly tries to eat it... :D
Wow! You are so talented. I'm sad you can't eat dessert. I've stopped eating added sugars because it is really so bad for your health. I'll think of you next time I contemplate eating dessert and stop!
Some of the shiny ones look a little too perfect to be real (I know you can make cakes that are that shiny, but they always look slightly unreal too) but the berries are perfect and anything with cream or meringue or texture is so wonderfully observed.
it must've been sweet instead of sweat i guess:) anyway, sorry for the artist's condition :/ must be craving so bad look at those Works which are so many and so detailed. Sending my love, incredible job!
Good idea, I can totally see this in a cafeteria as a decoration. And the precision and design ideas are amazing.
it says "he" in the title but "she" in the article? Other than that and the obvious spelling error pretty cool.
I stop reading an article as soon as I see an obvious spelling or grammar mistake. In this case I didn't make it past the headline LOL
In the world today, there is such a thing as Proof reading what you write....so the artist, whom we have NO idea is either a male or a female apparently cannot eat sweats because of health reasons. I don't think eating sweats is a good idea, for health reasons as well. Next time....PROOF READ YOUR ARTICLES! lol "Artist Can’t Eat Sweats Due To Health Problems So (He) Creates Them From Porcelain Instead 5Kviews By Hidreley Shayna Leib is an American glass blowing artist, who creates intricate and unique pieces of art.
