Gripping Photos of New Zealand’s Largest Gang Will Make You Tremble

Why would this make me tremble? Just because they have facial tattoos? They look like any other biker gang around the world.

That is some scary s**t... pictures themselves are amazing, but I'm torn whether I like the subject or not, nor do I understand what they are supposed to represent.

Um they are not Hispanic Dimitri. But it is pretty stupid for them to be wearing an SS symbol because they would have probably been killed by the SS

real maori warriors earn their mokos through courage and bravery. these wankers use fear and intimidation to get there own way no matter the consequences to other people. that first judge was right. these people are bloody mongrels.

In my job, I work with gang members every day and something I never get use to is their absolute hate for someone who simply isn't their race. It's not the tattoos, size or even what they've been locked up for, but their level of hate that scares me.

They don't make me tremble, they do make me disgusted though. You try to romanticize it by saying they follow a creed and fought battles. BS... a thug is a thug. They have probably done some pretty horrible things in their life times and people like you are horrible for making this look cool to a younger generation. You will probably now have at least a small part some future kids choice to become a biker, who either gets killed, kills others or both. Does that make you proud now?

For those they say you are not scared, you should try walk into their bar and try mingle with them, I'm sure you would lose your s**t. The difference in cultural behavior can be a daunting task to get your head around, let alone they pride themselves on their warrior history. Why else do you think New Zealand has been the best country to uphold indigenous rights? Not because they were softer than the average Englishman but because the Maori were harder. Land wars anyone? Not to mention they slaughtered the first ship of "explorers".

As a kiwi, I dislike this being associated on an international scale with New Zealand. Gangs are a minority here. What they represent doesn't deserve to be glorified. Would be great to see traditional maori items and tattoos to represent Aotearoa.

I used to live in NZ, and I find the Maori tattoos to be beautiful. So these guys really don't scare me.

Isn't ironic how most of them are wearing nazi symbols etc. and how nazi movement would have eradicated their "creed" for not being, well german or arian... If history would have allowed it? What makes large gangs really scary, are the amount of guns they freely have access to. Give a gang guns and they can kill whomever and wherever they like, coupled with their lack of morals and selfish attitudes. They don't need to dress up.... They can be the average looking Joe. But it's the firearms that make them tough. Take them away and they are nothing. I grew up with these guys in my neighborhood. They are like any other gang. Only in numbers are they tough. Grown men that are still immature. As far as International gangs, the kids killing with guns and out of control....how do you think they would fare alone? They aren't tough. They just have a gun and a collective group of uneducated individuals who encourage and teach them to do wrong.

As a white male who has lived my whole life in Mob territory, next to Mob leaders, schooled with Mob kids and friends with current members they are the most amazing community. They care for thier own members and neighbours and I am yet to meet a member who wasn't lovely. Unfortunately there reputation is huge and well deserved, especially where territory overlaps with the Black Power. As always people can get into gangs because they lack a good family or community of there own, that's what these photos symbolise for me. Side note - you don't see this any more as gang patches were banned from public places in NZ almost 10 years ago, so its just the tattoos and red clothes.

I think it is hysterical that so many have Nazi symbols on their clothes considering Hitler and his ilk would have despised every one of these clearly non-Aryan jokers.

The only the that bothers me is the depiction of the SS Schutzstaffel symbol and the swastika. Seeing that as a form of support for the Neo Nazi party is what makes me tremble.

They don't look scary because they're in a picture on your screen, but in my mind having a face tattoo is an indication of mental fuckupedness. Not to mention that most people are desensitized because they watch alot of TV including Sons of Anarchy

From what I can see in these comments. No one has a clue about these people.. they're normal just like us. Only difference is the fight till they're last breath for what they believe in. Family friends and brotherhood is paramount.. their tattoos are symbols of experiences memories and beliefs.its not a culture or cult or creed. It's a family based life style with its own personality.

A bir centuries old Maori culture with the face tattooing, and a bit modern biker gang. Interesting, compelling, but not all that frightening. I guess that may be the intent? But we're so used to so-called freakiness by now.
