Polite people, understand that they are not the center of the universe. They don't go around having tantrums that strangers "misgendered" them, they don't forcibly insert themselves in places that make others uncomfortable, they don't put the feelings of the individual, ahead of the consequences of the many. They don't go around screaming that being homosexual is "transphobic" while trying to reframe it as "genital preference" Polite people, accept the fact that other people have their own opinons, and views and while they might differ from their own, that doesn't make them any less valid and certainly doesn't justify bullying, manipulating, or resorting to name calling as a means of dehumanizing them in an effort to more easily ignore them. There's a difference between being able to live your life however you want, and demanding that others live theirs according to your terms, consequences be damned.

Well first off, lifelong liberal here. Not the new flavor of insane, unhinged leftist oh seeks to villianize anyone who disagrees while hoisting the mantle of victimhood ever higher, but the kind that believes in doing the most good for the largest number of people. But no, i've heard the arguments ad nauseam, and read the "research" much of which is conducted by ::::gasp:::: trans people! Funny how that works out, innit? The idea of gender being a "social construct" was an idea first posited in the 1960's, and didn't garner much attention until after Obama signed into law that "gender affirming care" was required to be covered by insurance, a very few short years ago. Since then there's been an explosion of "research" that just so happens to support something that is hugely financially lucrative to some, and self serving to others. However you want to rationalize it, the push to separate gender and sex, has led to the very things i already highlighted above. ......

How does it it "hurt" the largest amount of people is affirming care is covered by insurance? How does it hurt you to use the correct pronouns? Short answer, it doesn't, it just makes you feel uncomfortable and isn't that just so selfish? Because YOU feel uncomfortable, you're fine with a certain amount of hate speech being leveled at the trans community. Newsflash, TERF isn't a slur and neither is cis, so I really don't know what you're talking about when you say that trans people are throwing around slurs.

Prior to the affirming care provision, changing your sex required years of therapy and treatments before getting surgery....after which one would be permitted to change their sex to reflect their "new" body. Today everyone can just self identify! Which has led to biological men competing in women's sports, biological men being permitted into female locker rooms, female prisons, and spaces designed wholly for the protection of women (such as those escaping abuse)....hmm....kind of seems like that hurts women, doesn't it? Fastest growing demographic for trans people, is children! 10 fold increase over the past few years, and more and more are popping up every single day to express regret, and 7 countries in the EU have outright banned "gender affirming care" for minors, while a growing consortium of "deep thinkers" treat every question, criticism, or acknowledgement of negative consequence to the larger population as "phobic" or hateful.
