68 Vintage Pics That Capture Everyday Life So Differently They Feel Like A Trip Through Time
We live in a wonderful time, where technology has given us vivid and trustworthy records of previous eras. For 200 years, we have been taking photos of the world around us, capturing ordinary moments that help us visualize how we humans used to live.
Vintage and retro pictures give us a chance to look back at those details without needing to remember every year or decade. Outfits, fashion, colors, haircuts, activities, life has changed a lot, and some of those changes look downright funny from a modern perspective.
What blows my mind is that the people behind these old-school snapshots probably never expected their ordinary moments to become something people would laugh about years later. Scroll down to see the vintage pics that turn little pieces of everyday life into surprisingly funny memes.

My ex's childhood home (which he recently inherited) has a Caloric-brand microwave from the early 1970s. It is the same microwave that was installed when the house was built. It does not have number buttons, it has a timer dial and two buttons that say Start and Stop XD It STILL WORKS. I have a photo of it on my phone somewhere - will post in a comment below if I can find it XD
I hated reading out loud. I knew spoken words, and written words, but sometimes they were discreet entities. For example, I knew that femme was the woman in the story but could not that moment remember what the word sounded like. Was 45 years ago and still remember the teacher going off on me
Exactly…so many of these companies seemed oblivious to the fact that there are people named ANNE - with an E!!
i was never able to start these. i did this as a kid. i was born in 2012…
All three of my sons gave me an extra 15 minutes in the morning thanks to this toy.
My dad loved these when I was a kid. For some reason, he liked to put them in the freezer and then take one out whenever he wanted one. I inherited a taste for that as well :) While Ding Dóngs definitely aren't the same as they used to be, every once in a while I buy a box and freeze and eat them in my dad's memory <3
I had one of those as a teen! My sister's friend Megan, who lived with us at the time, once hid it under my bed upstairs and used to call our house line to wake me up when she thought I had overslept XD
Kids (me) had to learn the hard way that barbie doesn't grow her hair back.
This is why I leave mine up all year! I also have a wreath zip-tied to the front of my Volkswagen van all year long XD Of course, I live in Southern California, so this is what my Christmas tree looks like... (photo in comment below)
Oh, my, yes, to the wee children: the covers were textured holographic in rather thick plastic, so if you ran your fingernail across them, it made a zipping noise.
Sitting here having my morning coffee and laughing out loud at some of these…next time add the olive green wall phone with the 12-foot cord that gave every teenager complete privacy in the nearest closet.
This comment made me feel older than this entire list put together!
