The internet grants us the gift of anonymity. Sometimes, people use it for good, like donations and words of encouragement to strangers. Most of the time, unfortunately, it’s a place where people forget all rules of decorum, manners, and common sense. It’s where the logic “If no one knows who I am, I can do anything I want” applies.
So, it’s not surprising that people lie online constantly. We here at Bored Panda love stupid lies and people calling out fake stories, so the subreddit “That Happened” is one of our favorite places on the internet. It’s a community where people share screenshots of people embarrassing themselves with lies that can only be followed by a sarcastic “Yeah, right” and an obligatory “And then everybody clapped.”

I cannot imagine any (North American) child old enough to go trick-or-treating or to watch Halloween cartoons on TV would be unaware of Dr Frankenstein and his monster. The vast majority will believe that Frankenstein is the monster at least until they are in high school or college, but it would be almost impossible to not "know about" the story and character(s), at least broadly, much beyond kindergarten.

This particular one was started as a joke, it was never meant to be taken seriously. Back when Pakistan tried to mediate the Israel/Iran tensions and Pakistanis started joking about travelling to Israel on their passport. Pakistan doesn't recognize Israel as a country and the passport says very clearly it can't be used to travel there. Also anyone who actually has a Pakistani passport knows pretty well how weak it is and that traveling with one means extra extra extra scrutiny anywhere you go.

Pedro, apparently, did not have to sit through confirmation class with an elderly priest, on the verge of a nervous breakdown, who felt the need to describe the gory details of the crucifixion process to a room full of 13-14-year-olds in exacting, horrific detail. Unfortunately I did, and can therefore attest that Pedro's supposed illustration is not at all historically accurate. (The priest was removed from his position a few months later, and I am no longer Catholic, or Christian at all, but I will never forget that lecture.)
