Do you know what PICNIC means? No, we're not talking about an alfresco meal you pack into a hamper and enjoy in a sunny field. We're talking about the acronym, because PICNIC stands for "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer." If this sounds familiar then chances are that you probably work in IT support, and if that's the case then you'll no doubt relate to these funny and sadly accurate comics by Li-Anne Dias. The Californian artist and illustrator decided to draw them after IT workers shared with her the most ridiculous things that people have said to them. Scroll down to see for yourself.

I was told by the tech crew that the trees on my hill had grown too large and where disrupting my wireless signal every once in a while. Nonsense!

I have the "remember my password" box checked at work and had it lock me out saying my password is incorrect on TWO different occasions now. (It wasn't password reset time either, btw). I promise it DOES happen and it's so embarrassing because who's going to believe I didn't just have caps lock on or something? PCs like to f**k with you, man.

You can always write it down, OR you can save them on your Word Pad, where it is an easy recall. Its what I do. :D

Working wit Orange Internet customer service, i had to fix a customer wifi problem. I asked if her wifi dongle was from us " Is you wifi dongle Orange? No its blue.........."

As an IT pro I once found a woman's shoe inside a computer!!! The answer was that they had the computer stored in the show locker for a while and the shoe must have gotten there by accident!!! 12003959_1...c24ed8.jpg

Riiiiiight... "by accident". LOL. What about the people that use the cd-rom tray as cup holder. This is a TRUE story. I work in IT too, and got a couple of those in a professional environment, not even users at home. AT AN ACTUAL OFFICE FUDGE YES

I worked as an IT guy several years ago and I can relate so much with these. I had to deal with so much b******t and the truth is I kind of started to hate my job because of it. But in reality, not every person who asked stupid questions was that annoying. There were people who genuinely wasn't aware of some things but were kind and understanding and when I explained to them how thing worked, they were very grateful. The problem was when I met people who thought that they understand better than you. I'll never forget this girl how she picked the cable and tied it in a knot and then complained that it didn't work or when some other girl asked me whether her monitor didn't work properly because of the internet provider. Oh well, such is life. :)

I am not an IT guy, but frequently work with the computer. Nonetheless, I am fully aware it's not an easy job to do and to explain to those who don't use computers a lot. I can image that it's even worse when a client thinks they "know" more about hardware and software, while the IT person clearly studied more about the subject. So in other words: We all should have massive respect for the IT guys and girls! :D

I used to work in IT some years ago, and I can relate to this comics and many other problems users had. I think the worst was when someone called urgently asking why her monitor wouldn't work and when I checked it, it was unplugged... or when people try to make you fix their office problems...

Or when people accuse you of using copy-paste answer to their "deadly serious" complaints, while you know you dedicated way more time and nerves than you should have to just for some entitled little ignorant who obviously never even bothered reading your answers. A little off-topic, sorry, but I had to say it.
