Apple Reveals Its Newest iPhone, The Internet Reacts With 30 Hilarious Memes
Apple release ceremonies used to be genuinely newsworthy events, showcasing impressive and innovative new technology that confirmed, in the eyes of many, that the company was far ahead of its rivals and justified the hefty price tags of its products.
These days? Not so much. To the average person, Apple's pricing seems unrealistic compared to its competitors, which have caught up and in some cases overtaken Apple in product innovation. The pomp and ceremony accompanying these release events has perhaps lost its sheen to all but the most loyal fans, and instead of being met with awe, they are instead the target of derisive memes.
With the announcement of the iPhone 11 just recently, the memes have been flowing thick and fast. The main target of most fun has been the unusual design of the phone's camera - featuring three large lenses - which has been compared to everything from a stovetop to a coconut. Can't imagine what I mean? Scroll down to check them out for yourself, and let us know what you think in the comments!

This! Stop encouring the bastards by buying their new crap. It's no better than a scam.
I love it, a person with a Nobel Peace Prize is taking a dig at Apple...
Meh - done this. In fact removed it from my iPhone-shite phone. Only bought one - not getting conned twice.
This year's iPhone is basically a refresh of the previous version with triple cameras.
Yep. If you want to blow that much money, buy something cheaper and give the rest to a soup kitchen or homeless shelter.
Okay this is not good for those with tryptophobia. Fuck I googled typtophobia to make sure I spelled it right and oh my fucking god 🤮
When will people get this. Products in the USA never include tax/VAT on their display prices, where as in Europe the price always includes VAT. In the USA the sales tax is only added when making the payment. Mos states have sales taxes between 3% - 11% (5 states don't even have a sales tax, so there you pay what you see). The UK has a 20% VAT rate. So the adjusted price would be $839 (680 GBP). That's still 49 GBP more expensive in the UK, this however is often attributed to custom fees, transport costs and overall market price adjustments, which then makes up the final price of 729 GBP. You can argue if the 49 GBP extra is justified or not, however in the end it's really not that big of a difference and it all depends on your countries/states taxes and not Apple.
I doubt it. Apple sold overpriced crap well before he died. I just don't understand people who admire him for being some sort of a tech god/ guru. I've always admired him for being a savvy businessman- he created a brand. People pay for the logo and name, not for the good build quality or technical features.

Honest advice from an IT Guy with a telecommunication background, with smartphones you get the best value for money around 150 euros (165 USD). Maybe 100 more if you want a good camera but more than that you are only wasting money.
I have a good friend in the same industry who says exactly the same thing. People never really believe it though, much rather fall for all the hype.
Most people who buy iPhones are not in it for the specs
Tru dat!! 🙏🏻
Ah yeah but then you don't have the status symbol.....that's all these fools are really paying for. It's annoying to watch.
Most important is it’s also very user friendly! I’m not a fan of the Samsung bc it’s not!

I had to think of if they even make phones at that price point and then I remembered by fiancé has one and he fucking hates it. We both agree that Android is better, but you can’t base a purchase off of cost alone because cost does not determine quality, in either direction.
I've just purchased one samsung galaxy a10 (€112) there are no notable performance differences compared to my old galaxy s6 edge (€686, 2015)

Obviously without an economics background because all you see is the actual price of manufacturing the device, not the money poured into R&D. Also, they're luxury items. Stop whining and play on your €150 brick.
Apple are just taking the piss. They are taking your money while laughing at you.
Exactly.
I don’t think they are laughing at people. I think they aren’t listening. They’d have to listen to laugh. I think people without iPhones just want that to be true because the cost of the phone offends you.
Exactly... but I got my iPhone 8+ (256g) and got $200 back in a rebate when I switched to Xfinity Mobile and only pay $12/g used. So I’ve only paid $400 for it. Plus I can still sell my excellent condition iPhone 6+ (128g) for $250 still.
And I have the money to spend. Are those grapes sour?
I saved loads of money (and both my kidneys, haha) over the years by not buying any iPhones. They may look cool when new but in the end it's just an overpriced piece of plastic that stops working properly after a year or two. [And yes, I cannot afford it.]
They don't even look cool anymore. My 180 Euros Huawei phone makes my brother's iPhone look really old and clunky.
Huawei and Xiaomi are actually really good phones for the money you pay.
I had an HTC at one point and it was hands down the most awesome looking and chic phone I’ve ever owned. I got stuck with a company iPhone shortly after and never made my way back to HTC.
2 years into my iPhone 8 (metal and glass, btw) and still looks awesome and works fast. the only thing I did is changed the acc (for 30 bucks). So, no. Your argument is invalid.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have the 8 too, it’s definitely mostly glass. I cracked the back. Mine works great too but I hate how heavy it is. The 7 was lighter, don’t you think?
Never understood the whole iPhone phenomenon. The hype is outrageous. I am a Android boy and buy unlocked via Amazon so if I'm broke when the feeling of "I need a new phone" hits there is a 6 month payment option with no hidden fees. I had a Huawei for a while and then got this weird one, Redmie or something. Didn't like it. Then found a Samsung for under 200 bucks and guess what? It's fully updated to the newest Android OS, 6" screen and is quite nice. The only issue are the buttons on the side for volume and off/on, they are very hard to push. Hopefully over time they will loosen up a bit more. I may replace the icon set too, bit to bubbly for my taste. Oh and takes very nice photos!
