Sure, some countries do it better than others, but it would be pretty hard to find a healthcare system without any flaws. Whether it's piles of administrative work for doctors, or long hours in the waiting room for patients, there’s bound to be problems.
So, we put together a list of memes capturing the weird, stressful, and even hilarious aspects of life in and around hospitals. After all, laughter is the best medicine (which is easy to say when you have antibiotics).

And i'll drive myself to the hospital before risking the cost of an ambulance.
My mother was a casualty (Emergency room) sister for many years and it made her somewhat unsympathetic to the health issues of my brothers and myself as kids. If we told her we felt ill, she would say "I spent half an hour today suturing a man with his head partially severed." I guess that puts a runny nose or verrucas into perspective.
Actual TRUTH! people purposely try to go to jail just for the medical treatment. (And it’s still not great) but at least BiG INsurance Can’t DENY
I'm not sure where this is but I don't think those are American Police. No guns visible, for a start. Edit: Germany, apparently, and that's Greta Thunberg. I guess some people might have already known that, but I didn't.
Appears to be Germany. "Police officers carry Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg away from the edge of the Garzweiler II opencast lignite mine during a protest action by climate activists after the clearance of Luetzerath, Germany, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023. After the eviction of Luetzerath ended on Sunday, coal opponents continued their protests on Tuesday at several locations in North Rhine-Westphalia."
Load More Replies...If that is Greta Thunberg, there is no medicine in the world . . . .
With all the ridiculous amounts I had to pay for US healthcare, I never had to pay for parking until I moved to the UK. Weird.
Load More Replies...That's orthostatic hypotension likely due to dehydration Jimbo
I think it's supposed to be some sort of joke that a $100 doctos appointment ends up being $1500
Load More Replies...And a lot of primary care doctors are not accepting new patients.
Not quite. 40% for the US, 30% for the UK, and the outcomes are better in the UK. Life expectancy in the UK is 81; in the US it's 78.
That's an MRI... the risk is from ferrous metals in jewellery being attracted to the massive, strong magnet!
I actually saw a doctor yesterday, for the first time in about 10 years (for seeing a GP, I've had a couple of hospital trips in that time for broken bones). Couldn't believe how easy the process was to get an appointment. Online booking system with multiple choice questions to aid in triage, and at the end I was presented with a list of appointments times and dates. I chose one for 40 minutes thence. NHS, so no payment or insurance to worry about. Brilliant.
