Our cars don’t simply get us from point A to point B. We laugh in them, cry in them, and sing in them—often with considerably more confidence than we’d ever display in the shower. They can be places to decompress after a long day, enjoy a private moment to yourself, or simply sit for a few extra minutes before heading inside to tackle whatever awaits at home.
But you get people who appreciate cars, and people who appreciate cars—we might call them car people. And if you’re one of the latter, you’re in the right place. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the funniest memes celebrating the quirks, passions, and peculiarities of car culture, courtesy of 365CarMods and The Official BrokeBuilds™ Page on Instagram. Buckle up!

I still drive my beloved 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan. It's not the Microbus, which I desperately wanted as a child, but it's still a rock-solid van that runs beautifully and fits two large dogs easily XD The only issue is that the Eurovan was only sold in America for a handful of years, so it's a bítch to find parts for it when it DOES need work...
I'm an American and I love Top Gear. Hell, I named my betta The Stig. I was so happy when the Grand Tour aired. I wish the three of them could keep doing specials/shows like that forever - but I know that, much like the Jackáss boys, Jezzer, Hamster, and Captain Slow have aged out of a lot of the crazier stunts/trips XD
I learned to drive on a stick shift. I'm amazed I wasn't sued for whiplash more often.
This is like when my mom tells me she won a "mini jackpót" of $1,200 on the slót machines at the cásinó, but when I ask her how much she gambled away before she won that jackpót, she just repeats that she won a $1,200 jackpót XD
Thought this was going to be a meme about horsepower at first glance.
I had similar on my old honda civic. There was a little spring and bolt built in under the pedal (factory fitted), if I drove carefully and spring didnt touch the plate underneath I could get 5l/100km consumption. The more I pushed the pedal it had more resistance, and I knew its using much more fuel then. I loved saving on fuel.
I had my car washed the other day. The guys did good - they got the back doors open. But then I had to tell them that the locks had to be down before the doors would close like they're supposed to. That's when one of them told me my back taillight cover was loose. I whacked it back in. And broke the plastic. S**t.
I am actually paying only $200 a year less for insurance than what my car is worth.
None of that money is going towards repairing the broken turn signals, though, of course.
Why doesn't anyone ever hit THEIR cars like they hit mine all the time?
Now have a look at all those American cars still fitted with primitive 'live axle' rear suspension. 🤣
Hey, my very first car was a Mazda, I bought it myself with my own money when I was 16. Of course, it was a used 323, not an RX-8....
Oh lordie. Back in the 1980s, I knew someone with a Honda Civic. It was a tiny 1970s rust-bucket - with, admittedly, a bullet-proof engine and superb fuel economy.
It's worse when someone stops you and gives you their card in case you want to sell them your car for parts.
I've got fuel injection on my motorcycle. It's great. You have no idea. Every bike with carbs that I've owned has needed me to keep blipping the throttle at idle (to a greater or lesser extent - more cylinders helps) or when dropping revs to idle in neutral to avoid the engine just shutting down randomly. With fuel injection you can ride slowly at tickover without touching the throttle at all.
At first I thought: Such a big difference in just 10 years. Then I looked again...
My house looks like that just so I can afford gas, registration, and insurance, and just putter down the road.
One month is the time it takes every a*****e in the city to hit my car in every parking lot I stop in.
When I was buying my first car, she got excited about the brackets to clip a baby seat into. I told her 'slowdown, I night not have this when I get to having kids'. My car is now 10 years old and I've had to put a baby seat in :)
Yeah. Had a Hyundai Tiburon. Went to McDonalds. Placed my order. Drove up to the window to pay. Held my hand out holding the money. Nothing happened. Looked up. The cashier was lowering a basket.
When I was 13 years old, the Sailor Moon anime aired in the US. I wanted to drive a Ferrari Testarossa when I grew up, because the cool villain Nephrite drove one in the anime. Ferrarris used to look really, really rad.
In 2010 my brother bought our white family van from my mum. He painted it black (using spray paint) and installed a wooden base with drawers where the back row of seats was so he could put a mattress in. He also had it converted to LPG. Turned it into a camper, took it on two road trips, but on the second the air con broke when driving in 45c heat and the car broke down. Got home and had it fixed but it only lasted about 12 months more before it became more expensive to fix than buying a new one.
Love Aston Martins, and also sad that the British Rover is no longer sold as the company doesn't exist anymore. Best car I ever had. My family had BMWs, Mercedes, etc (half expensive cars) and we all hated them, so stopped buying them. Vintage British green British cars are the best. Love the Bentley with the picnic basket too.
Ken Block (rally driver) and Paul Walker (actor from Fast and Furious.) They's both deád now.
It's actually pretty embarrassing what US engines delivered. I just read an ad in a magazine from 1978, for a Camaro, offered as 5.0 liter and 5.7 liter variant, having 145 hp or 170 hp. Now, this isn't pre-WW2 or so - then, I wouldn't dare calling it an embarrassment -, this is the late seventies, when injection took over in mass market, and europeans and japanese were just finishing the development of fourvalve engines for mass production, the first variabe timing devices were about to enter series production, turbocharging got on its way, but any and every somewhat decent twovalve engine of half the size had that same power. US cars just aren't it...
