Lond-based photographer Brock Elbank is on a journey to photograph 150 freckled people for his next exhibition in 2017. He wants to celebrate beauty and, since mid-2015, he has succeeded with 90 striking portraits.
"I’ve always loved freckles," said Elbank. "What I find interesting about individual characters that I have been fortunate enough to photograph is that many have struggled with their freckles since their infancy and either hated them, or grown to live with them or even like them in adulthood."
"One subject I shot in September for the series spent a good three to four hours with me after the portrait, talking about how they felt as a kid, bullied, rejected at school for their appearance, which really shocked me as I found this individual amazing-looking." If you want to be featured, you can still contact him!

High use of contrast and possibly high def, Like the face but it would be even prettier in a natural setting and natural background as motive, ofc all photographers are different
ahhhhh ... jezzas people ... the artist uses photoshop to exagerate the freckles .. easily done ...its just his expressive style ..... be curious !
I remember growing up people would use lemon on their faces to try & get rid of freckles, I love them, no I don't have any, but my husband does
She is beautiful. She has probably some Irish blood :) .Do not expose this beautiful face to too much sun.
Wow, they really ARE unique and beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen eyes color change as much as these do.
Load More Replies...Love her! So cute. Add blue eyes & she looks much as I did as a child,. I was teased (& bullied) unmercilessly for the freckles, teeth (my brother called me "Squirrel" when Mom wasn't nearby) & ginger hair. THEN I got glasses!!! Ugh. She is joyously beautiful, and I hope being featured like this lets her know that, deep inside....
Yes, of course... And I can't decide which one I like most!
Load More Replies...This is a condition called complete hetrochromia, meaning they have two completely different coloured eyes! It can happen for a number of different reasons. One of them is when two of the females eggs fuse to make one zygote and they both have different genes for eye colour! :)
i went to school with a guy who had 2 different color eyes. it happens!
Load More Replies...David Bowie's eyes were both blue, one pupil was damaged and did not contract.
Load More Replies...The fact that only the faces are freckled on some of these, like this one, makes me wonder if the photographer is photo-shopping the freckles. Most freckled people will also have a lot of freckles on their shoulders, chest, arms, etc. This doesn't look real.
He's absolutely adorable. The color of his eyes perfectly balances the tones of his freckles and hair. I'm just very surprised that the freckles are almost exclusive to his face.
Lol, Julia! way to call out the snark! In all seriousness, though, this is likely due to the angle the sun usually hits the girl. high, midday sun will shadow her neck, but cause freckles to develop on exposed skin. Notice, this is quite common with several of models here. And with all of us freckly people.
Load More Replies...I love your freckles, I had them when I was a young man. Al gone the older I got.. This brings out the joy in you. Express yourself, be yourself, have fun..
Striking. I will never understand why people put makeup over freckes. So unique and pretty.
There used to be an old saying " long neck long life" I wonder if it is true.
I have a ton of freckles on my face, arms (elbow down) and feet/lower legs. Almost no freckles on my shoulders, none on my chest or back.
Another unnatural looking subject — where are the freckles on her body? No one has freckles just on their face, especially the explosion of freckles shown here. They would continue on the body.
I have freckles all over my face, back, the TOP of my upper arms & upper thighs---freckles are mainly from sun damage, areas with extra melanin. If an area is always/usually covered or shaded (like your neck) = no freckles...
Load More Replies...The photographer is doing something, using a filter or enhancing the freckles to an extreme. They look unnatural.
I think the blue color creates the distraction - either eye shadow or photo enhancement.
Load More Replies...Actually, I wish he hadn't heightened the freckles so much on some models. It just looks like too much sun damage on a few....
Her eyes look like that famous Nat'l Geographic cover of the (Iraqi???) woman with green eyes....a hint of that defiance/anger. Beautiful woman...
I love the freckles on your upper lip. I have tons of freckles but nothing cool like that upper lip line. Awesome
Very interesting freckles patterns here, almost like someone threw a paint brush full of paint on her face, beautiful woman
awesome photos mate! here my first try of freckles , hope you liked ! 13055856_1...7dcbba.jpg

Love these pictures my red hair and freckles have never bothered me, I'm the only red head in my family . Suppose this makes me different xx
Are these real freckles on all of these stunning people? Wow! So beautiful.
i love how it is mostly just the stripe under his eyes and on his nose. :)
My freckles were in that pattern, and I used to hate him so bad because I'm so pale. I started tanning and I was able to hide most of them, but I just turned 40 and decided to say no more tanning !!!! Not good for the wrinkles .... Lol..... I have lived in the same town since I was 13 so everyone knows that I've always had freckles; what they don't know is by now there are also brown spots, and that the freckles help camouflage those .....
I just wish this evident joy U so accurately type of were in polychrome :(
Load More Replies...I've also seen this image in colour. He is a great topic for the shots that have been taken
The photographer did a good job showing off her jaw line :)
Load More Replies...this series makes me believe all people with freckles also have amazing eyes!
I love that we can see a person with freckles and a tan, yes we do exist!
This is ridiculous... I don't believe anyone ever looked like this.
Load More Replies...red hair freckles when I was young I use to think only Scots had these things in common
I have to say I have not seen many people with freckles, & that's worth celebrating being a person with freckles, I would not forget your face with all your life written on it
I don't believe in any of these pics. No one ever looked like this.
I think is not Edit, i have seen freckled people that has so dark freckles and they are more noticiable under certain lights. (could be a special ilumination to enhance the contrast)
Load More Replies...Some are beautiful, some look a lot more like sun induced skin damage. As someone with skin cancer I am not convinced we should be praising the effects of sun exposure
well, whether their skin is damaged or not, i think the beauty of each one shines through.
Load More Replies...There is always beauty regardless but I THINK the photos are quite enhanced by the photo editing program from the skin tone and the noise level shown.
I have always had freckles and have always loved them. The horrible overcoloring of these people makes them look like blemishes and sores. Sorry but not my cup of tea.
While these pictures are heavily edited, these are people with extreme cases of freckles. They can't help it & they don't do it on purpose.
Load More Replies...Clearly some of these have been enhanced, I have freckles and they don't look like any of these nor anyone else I know with them. They don't stand out like these pics they kinda blend in and are not so outlined.
