Entitled Mom Escalates A Parking Spot Dispute Into Something Nobody Sees Coming

Any parent who’s ever had to take their kids on an errand knows the struggle of wrangling the little ones while trying to get the day’s tasks done. That’s why many places, like grocery stores, offer parking for families to make it easier for adults juggling kids. Even if this is a helpful idea, some folks might still try to take advantage of it, which can cause a ton of problems for everyone.

This is what a dad experienced after parking in a spot reserved for people with children, only to get into a major standoff with an entitled mother. This crazy situation escalated so much that it left the man baffled and in fear for his little one.

People who get into fights over parking spaces often think it’s okay to bully the other person just to get their way

The poster shared that he had taken his 18-month-old along while grocery shopping and was planning to park in the spot reserved for parents with children

Unfortunately, after the man took one of the spots, a woman began yelling at him for parking there since he only had one kid, and she felt it was for people who had multiple children

Forty-five minutes later, when the man was exiting the store, he noticed the entitled woman getting a fine and assumed it was probably $150 for her violation

The man kept minding his own business while leaving the store and made sure not to engage in the rude mom’s drama

Parking shouldn’t be such a hassle, but for parents it can be troublesome because they have to look after their little ones and get everything done at once. That’s why Evology Parking, a UK-based EV charging network, says family parking spots can be convenient and helpful.

When adults get to use these areas, they can better juggle their children, pram, shopping, and changing bags. Usually, these parking spots are also next to groceries, making it convenient for adults to get where they want to go without covering a long distance.

Sometimes people worry that they shouldn’t be using a particular vehicle spot, especially if someone else makes a fuss about it

These family parking spaces are open to moms and dads with children and can be used for as long as needed. They are also wider than traditional spots, making it easier to move prams and child seats around. According to My Junior, this spot can also be used by heavily pregnant women, so that they can easily find their way to the shop’s entrance.

No law governs this parking area, so even people without children can use it and won’t be fined or face legal consequences. Usually, the shopping center decides whether to assign a spot to accommodate families and is responsible for enforcing any rules.

Whether it’s parking spaces or something else, there are a lot of entitled people in the world, and Parents Cue explains that these folks are usually never grateful or kind. They seem to expect others to cater to their needs and rarely value the effort others put in.

It’s important for these folks to understand that nobody owes them anything and that being kind isn’t a weakness. The moment they start respecting the people they meet, their social interactions will improve. Entitled folks might also begin to feel more gratitude for the things in their life rather than constantly finding fault in everything and everyone.

It can be hard for people to know how to deal with someone who’s very arrogant and demanding

According to the SPSP, the world’s largest organization of personality and social psychologists, if we encounter an entitled person, we shouldn’t focus on changing their personality. Instead, we should avoid reinforcing their arrogance by giving in to their demands. If you do, they might feel justified in their behavior, but if you say no or refuse to give in, you set a boundary they will eventually have to respect.

This is exactly what the man did: he ignored the entitled mom’s crazy behavior and continued his shopping trip. That’s why she eventually had to give up and, luckily, faced karma for her entitled actions.

How would you have dealt with a person like this, and do you think the woman got what she deserved? We’d love to hear your opinions in the comments below.

People were shocked by the woman’s entitlement and hoped that she got fined extra just so that she could be taught a lesson

The grocery store where I usually shop has those spots also. When my son is with me I occasionally ask him about us using them but he always says no. Since he's usually the one driving I have to go along with it.

Hahahaha! My son and I both do the shopping but HE handles the Costco runs...does Costco have these type of parking spots? Probably not, but if they did, I should maybe start tagging along for s*h*i*T*s and giggles? "Hey! The spot doesn't list an AGE limit and he's my child!"
