So you're a dog lover. You watch a cute puppy video on Youtube and fall asleep in your big, comfy bed and that's nice. A dog owner or a parent, though, has less time for such videos, and even less space in bed - it belongs to the dog now (it should also be noted that the reality of sleeping with your pooch is way less cute than you might imagine.) And it's just one of the many differences between loving and having dogs seen in funny drawings by Kelly Angel.

My dog goes under the covers and leans against me. If I am close to the edge he forces me out of bed. He only weighs 14 lbs but feels like 50 lbs of dead weight

I only get the whole bed to myself now because my boy is old and arthritic and can't get on the bed anymore. I miss him taking up 80% of the space!

Our dog is only let into the bedroom once we wake up. She lies on her side with her legs stretched out straight (back against me, pointy toes against my husband) so we get about a foot of width each if we're lucky. If she'd take up less space she'd be allowed in more often.

My dog gets too hot. She only stays in bed for 10 min sometimes but my bed is so high that I need to pick her up onto it and let her down. My bed is actually too small for my dog and I but my room is too small for a bigger bed

Both my puppies snuggled under the blanked buried in my legs and back every night leaving me with a couple inches of bed before I fall off......love them so much <3

I agree with all except only in the most positive ways. I wouldn't have it any other way. My doggies (plural) sleep with me, eat with me, walk with me, ride with me, wait for me...we have mutual admiration for each other! I'll love them as long as they have breath!

Well I refuse to be enslaved to an animal...however my husband has a psychological need for dogs...one tiny one sleeps with him on his side of the bed,the other 2 sleep in their kennels...I HAVE a dog,but days go by and I don't pet her or talk to her..she's a DOG..an ANIMAL...I'm not IN LOVE with her..no huggy kissy kind of relationship

My dog was not that strong. He was very weak when we bought him. He loved me and i loved him like my Lil brother. My parents would not let him sleep with me but he wouldn't sleep unless he is in my room. He never liked being touched he was not that strong. But still he would sleep with his body touching me. I miss him a lot as he is no more. But he was such a loving buddy and brother i ever had! Dogs are the best of the gods creation and when i see some people hurting them for no reason. It really hurts. Why do people not see them as a living being for the least! These incidents reminds me of my buddy and makes me realize how much of things these people are missing by not experiencing the love of these kind and innocent creatures. Street dogs also will never attack unless they are harmed. Plz don't ever hurt them 😭

I'm a dog lover and a dog owner. My dogs aren't allowed to sleep in my bed, they have their own. I don't think they are the greatest, I've known better dogs but they are mine and I love them.

My Mollie Moo Moo is my absolute world and more. I take her everywhere with me and I do mean everywhere; if I have a hospital appointment or such like my sister is on hand to baby sit. We do everything together; we even have our meals at the same time. I only ever go dog friendly places and anyone who doesn’t love Mollie has no place in my home or my life... I love my little girl so much, every breath I take has Mollie written through it. xxxxx

BOL - barking out loud, ain´t it the same for cat lovers and cat mummies & daddies??? I never had an own dog, but always loved them, walked many from our local shelter and from our then neighbourhood as a child/teenie in the 80s, our father never let my sister, my mum and me have an own dog, he hated dogs and was even scared of the smallest dog, so we had cats instead from when I was 8 years on, and lter, when I left my parents´ appartment, I´ve already been too chronic sick to care for a dog, to walk one regularly....Thought I was too sick to care for ANY pet, until I adopted Gizzy from Gizzy, Thori and Sisi, da second hand kittehz in Oct. of 2010 (had his 7th Gotcha Day last Wednesday), from then on I only had 3, maybe 4 mild Lupus flares, before I had heavy ones that always came with a huge weight loss every 1-2 months, Thori came here in May of 2013, Sisi in July of 2014, but I still love dogs and pet those from neighbours (who let me pet them) whenever I meet them!!! 💖💖💖😂😂😂

I wouldn't have it any other way! I love ❤️ that my dogs are always around me. I feel we are a team. And I'm the Den Mother. Sometimes I just shake me head because I can't believe what they got into. I had 2 dogs but recently got 2 nine week old puppies. Sisters.

Oh thank GOD. I thought I was the only insane person who obsessed over their pooch. I'm Daisy's guardian; I don't own her. And I will love and protect her the rest of her life because of the unconditional love she gives me every minute of her life. She makes me feel like her Sun and Moon. Why wouldn't I do everything possible for someone who loves me that much? I do the same for my husband, my step kids, my parents and brother for the same reason. If that makes me a nutcase, then I'm truly certifiable :D

My dog was not that strong. He was very weak when we bought him. He loved me and i loved him like my Lil brother. My parents would not let him sleep with me but he wouldn't sleep unless he is in my room. He never liked being touched he was not that strong. But still he would sleep with his body touching me. I miss him a lot as he is no more. But he was such a loving buddy and brother i ever had! Dogs are the best of the gods creation and when i see some people hurting them for no reason. It really hurts. Why do people not see them as a living being for the least! These incidents reminds me of my buddy and makes me realize how much of things these people are missing by not experiencing the love of these kind and innocent creatures. Street dogs also will never attack unless they are harmed. Plz don't ever hurt them 😭

I'm a dog lover and a dog owner. My dogs aren't allowed to sleep in my bed, they have their own. I don't think they are the greatest, I've known better dogs but they are mine and I love them.
