Disney World Guest Blasts Park After Staff Shame Her Over Outfit: “You Can’t Wear It To A Family Park”
In June 2025, New York City-based TikTok fitness influencer Nicole Arena took to social media to call out Disney after a trip to one of the conglomerate’s theme parks went south.
Disney World staff allegedly flagged her for violating the dress code and “forced” her to buy new clothes, which did not sit well with her.
Although she has since deleted the post from all her social media platforms, the controversy recently went viral again, sparking a fresh debate over her outfit.
- In 2025, a TikToker blasted Disney after being asked to cover up during a visit to a Florida theme park.
- As the news went viral again recently, netizens sparked a debate about whether her clothes were inappropriate.
- Disney has strict attire policies for theme parks, and several influencers have previously gotten in trouble for violating them.
“This is a park aimed at a young audience. It’s not rocket science to dress appropriately,” one disappointed user commented.
Nicole Arena claimed Disney wouldn’t allow her on a ride because of her gym clothes
Sometime before June 24, 2025, Nicole visited Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park in Bay Lake, Florida, with her husband, John Whitespot.
Nicole and John, also a fitness influencer and personal trainer, tied the knot two months before that.
After their trip, Nicole ripped into Disney in a fiery TikTok post, saying, “I was so happy to be here that I didn’t realize I was ‘improperly dressed’ and would be forced to buy a $45 T-shirt or else I could not get on the ride I waited an hour for.”
In the selfie with John she shared, Nicole wore a white Nike sports brassiere, while her husband was in a black tank top and a cap worn backward. She did not mention Disney raising any flags about John’s clothes.
“I really didn’t think anything of this [to be honest],” Nicole defended herself in another video, showing more of the outfit.
After several users criticized her for the choice, she retorted in a third video, “I had nothing showing other than my stomach and my arms, but you guys are acting like I went out n**ed.”
John also defended his wife, saying, “I couldn’t care less if someone thinks your outfit was inappropriate because we both know that neither one of us would feel comfortable or ok with anything that would expose you in any way.”
“I know that people are always going to have something to say even when there’s nothing wrong and when there are others who are actually improperly dressed,” he went on. “I’ll stand by the fact that we know you were singled out, and it’s not ok.”
Netizens got into a heated debate over whether Nicole’s clothes were “improper” for a family park
The incident resurfaced on social media in October 2026 after a group of guests was kicked out of Epcot for allegedly engaging in unauthorized aquatic activities in the water park.
The debacle divided the internet, with some defending Nicole and others blasting her.
“Sports b*a, crop tops, bikini tops… all things I have seen in Disney since people are park hopping between the water parks and theme parks, etc. No one batted an eye… and it is hot as hell in Florida, so I don’t really see the issue,” one netizen commented.
Another said, “Why would you wear a sports b*a anywhere outside of a gym?” A third wrote, “People shouldn’t be sporting undergarments as actual clothes in public.”
A fourth wrote, “It’s like pajamas are not allowed on airplanes. These companies have dress codes. I miss the days when people actually got dressed to go out.”
Some pointed to a “double standard,” arguing that John’s clothing was also somewhat revealing, but he wasn’t asked to cover up. A Sydney woman made a similar complaint after she was told to cover up at a hotel bar.
“So he gets to wear a wife-beater, and that’s not a problem, but her wearing a sports b*a is? It’s nothing more than a bikini top, big deal,” one said.
Another wrote, “Well, given the woke culture at Disney, it is hypocritical. The man can wear a tank top, but she cannot wear a sports b*a?”
Disney has a strict dress code in place for theme parks, requiring visitors to cover up at all times
While several users empathized with her, citing Florida’s high summer temperatures, a majority still called Nicole out for not knowing Disney theme park dress codes.
“Why would you go somewhere and not check the dress code? That doesn’t make sense,” one rebuked her.
According to the official website, Disney has strict attire policies for all their theme parks and resorts, some of which are for safety purposes on risky adventure rides.
Their rules say that “proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times.”
The guidelines also prohibit clothing that drags on the ground, visible tattoos with objectionable language or designs, and costumes or face masks for anyone aged 14 or above.
“We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other guests,” it says.
Previously, several other influencers have also slammed Disney after park employees stopped them for “excessively revealing” outfits.
In 2022, TikToker Tori Cannella was flagged at Disney World in Orlando for wearing a crop top, but received a free T-shirt to cover up. The same year, Nicole DeLosReyes’ Mother’s Day family trip to the theme park saw her getting flagged for wearing a white front-tied crop top.
“They both could’ve dressed a little better,” one user said

Thanks! Check out the results:
IMHO, both of them needed tee shirts. Yes, we *know* you have a chest, we just don't want to have to look at it. And it is about the rides. Dress properly or stand over there and watch. Stupid people. It's not like people haven't been complaining about this online for *years.*
I honestly don't understand why you find the sight of a chest offensive
Load More Replies...The guy's wearing less. Anyone want to take my bet on whether they said anything to him?
I would probably not want to approach Mr or Mrs Roid-Rage
Load More Replies...I'm not much of a ride person (I've never been to a Disney park and have no desire to do so); usually I am the person who holds everyone else's stuff and watches. Still, even I can see how a bared midriff could be a problem on some rides, regardless of gender. In the Florida heat that several commenters mentioned, one wouldn't want riders complaining of injuries from bare skin pressing against hot metal, plastic or nylon components of the seat and waist restraints. The husband was wearing a tank top, a common choice across genders and ages which is presumably taken into account in the design of shoulder restraints. With his abdomen covered, though, there wouldn't be the same risks, and she'd surely have been fine wearing a longer tank. Which is to say, it is completely plausible that this is entirely a safety and liability issue (I don't doubt that she'd have been even more outraged, and possibly litigious, had she been burned), and not necessarily about gender or modesty at all.
If someone gets a 2nd degree burn that way, it's just an example of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes".

Is it so difficult to look for the Dress Code on the Disney’s website and follow it? That said men should also be Dressed Coded. He was also dressed inappropriately.
Wouldn't have even occurred to me that a theme park had a dress code. It's an amusement park, not a formal gala

Load More Replies...I fail to understand how clothes and being family friendly are supposed to be related... In my country families go to sauna together - seeing the bodies of each other is super normal. Is it because americans are afraid of the human body? What do the americans think will happen if a child sees a naked human body? Will the child turn an heathen scandinavian/finn and start to crave sauna and real beer and free healthcare? The humanity!
Yes exactly, it's because Americans are trashy and uptight and scared of their own shadows, let alone the bodies that throw those shadows. Our President can grab you by the kitty, but God forbid you wear a tight shirt to the log flume ride.
Load More Replies...Both of them are dressed like trailer trash. They are wearing gym clothes, not family-friendly park clothes.
Judging people's personalities over an outfit is pretty trashy behavior, in my personal opinion. Now you just need a trailer.
Load More Replies...There's a reason why undergarments are called that - because they go UNDER other clothing. A sports bra is an undergarment. Which means you need to wear a shirt over it. And her husband just looked ridiculous in his teeny tank.
but how else could they determine how fit they are if the whole world can't see it?/s
Load More Replies...I feel so stupid arguing that a tshirt and shorts should be worn in crowded public spaces. So stupid. We are fighting over what the bare minimum should be. Sigh. What kind of society do we want? Look at me culture? Bedroom slipper culture? Basic effort culture? I’d love to see Make An Effort Culture but understand that I’m an outdated dinosaur of one. So Bare Minimum culture it is. But I’m a fan of none of them. And yes, Disney gets to choose the culture of their parks. They pay the bills and taxes, they get to choose.
This is the same as telling school girls they can’t show any shoulder, a visible bra strap, or midriff because the poor boys won’t be able to concentrate. Disney owns a waterpark and I guarantee women are wearing bikinis there. This covers more than a bikini. We need to stop sexualizing women and their bodies. Heaven forbid a kid might see some cleavage.
You also can’t wear a shirt with most DJT quotes on them, it’s about public respect and making sure that most people have the best time. “Pushing boundaries” may be fun, but decorum has it’s place too.
🤦♀️it’s a crop top ffs way to many pearl clutchers , it’s not like she’s ten 😳I honestly do not see the issue here at all it’s summer wear 🤷♀️it appears Disney are prudes .
She's just an attention hound trying to promote her Instagram or start an OF.
ANY ESTABLISHMENT HAS A DRESS CODE AND IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FOLLOW IT, YOU CAN LEAVE!
Good for disney and I fully support them and their dress code. Women in sports bras are fine for the gym, but they do not need to be at a family park. Same with men in "white beaters" leave them for the gym, cover up when going to Disney, I don't want to see your armpit hair 🤢.
The "sports bra" is the same thing lots of women wear to go jogging - it's baring midriff, but it's not indecent. For myself, I think it's questionable attire for anything other than exercise, but lots of people wear athleisure to shop, run errands, etc, and I don't think it's a problem. Dress codes are common, but at an amusement park, I can completely understand casual attire, and I would absolutely expect to see women in crop tops, and this seems equivalent.
Disney has rules. Those rules are well known, and these people chose not to follow them. That's all there is to it.
In Florida it's normal to wear a bikini top and tiny shorts to just about anything, she's much more covered than your average Florida tourist. Who has time to be offended by this?
It's a private business even though it's open to the public (obviously) and THEY get to decide the dress code. Don't want to follow it? Then stay away. Plenty of other places to wear your gym clothes I'm sure.
Load More Replies...what happened to just wearing regular clothes? There is no reason for either of them to dress like that at Disneyworld.
To show my tummy in public would be never my choice. To go anywhere in sports gear other than a gym or sport related places, is also a "No" for me. But as long as nothing is showing (or dangling), I don't see any problem. As soon as the children leave the parc, they are confronted with the real world again and this is crop tops, flip flops and short pants or skirts. Someone in the comments mentioned burnings by hot surfaces on bare skin because it can be very hot in Florida. Is this the reason for the rule to be dressed appropriate (I assume covered legs, shoulders and feet, there is no explanation for it)? What about children in summer dresses and short pants?
Yeah when they leave the park the fantasy is suspended, but while the children are in the park, Disney has set the rules and arrogant self-promoters are always looking for attention

On the beach it's fine. But you can't wear a sportstbra in disneyland paris either. Best part of this policy is also that they don't warn you at the register. They give you a heads up when you're inside, so you have to buy a t-shirt. Cheapest shirt they have is €45. So part of the policy is also making bank
Load More Replies...It's really sad. She can't afford a mirror and her boyfriend is either not very bright, can't understand appropriate behaviour or dress or too terrified tell her how inappropriate her clothing is.
I have yet to hear a genuine reason why it's inappropriate. "Because it just is" is not a reason
