This isn’t someone being jailed “for a joke.” It’s a case where a message was interpreted as a credible threat of violence at a real location, which is a criminal offence in the US. The “up to 15 years” claim is just the maximum possible penalty, not what will actually happen. The post strips out context to make it sound more outrageous than it is.
