Mom Of Late GF Demands Guy Share His House With Her Right After Funeral, Livid When Plan Backfires
It’s strange to think of what a bizarre world we live in, where some people spend millions on weddings, while others sleep hungry. I understand that money is important to live, but some folks’ greed consumes them so much that they turn into pure evil.
Just look at this woman who thought that she could scam her late daughter’s boyfriend. I mean, how pathetic can you be to try to use a deceased family member as an ATM? Fortunately, she quickly realized that the original poster (OP) is not someone she could mess with. Here’s what happened…

The shameless lady realized that she had no option but to close the matter since she didn’t have any proof of her false claim
This is a tale about greed, where Reddit user Automatic_Horror5277, a Florida resident, tells us of some unexpected legal trouble he landed up in. He was with his girlfriend for 7 years, out of which they lived together for 5. He bought a house one year into their relationship, and the mortgage was just in his name. Unfortunately, she passed away 2 years ago.
You might wonder about all these numbers thrown at you, but they are important to the story because suddenly his late girlfriend’s mother threatened to sue him for equity in his home. The lady claims she has proof that her daughter had invested in the house and paid for renovations. OP clarifies that none of this is true, as he had always paid all the bills, whether it be mortgage or renovations.
Moreover, she says that he owes his girlfriend’s estate $100,000. The woman communicated all this through her family attorney, who is a stranger to these matters, as he does wills and estate planning. She never really liked OP, but nonetheless, he is wondering whether to take it all seriously since it came from an attorney.
Redditors advised him to get one of his own, as many stated it all sounds odd. Well, he heeded their thoughts and updated that all the lawyers he consulted stated the same: she can’t claim anything until she has hard proof to back up what she was saying. In fact, they told her to go ahead with the lawsuit, which the mom had probably not expected, and instantly closed the matter!

It has been observed that grief doesn’t really have a timeline as such, but OP mentions that things have been difficult for him since his girlfriend’s passing. Then to come across this nasty business with the greedy woman must be like rubbing salt in a wound that has just started to heal, doesn’t it? Our hearts really go out to the poster!
Research suggests that greedy people are often entitled, susceptible to defrauding others, and can go to any lengths to meet their needs. Who does that remind you of? The woman in our story, of course! Studies have shown that greed has “insidious consequences on the self and on society”. Our entitled lady had better learn her lesson from this and hopefully refrain from repeating such atrocious behavior.
However, stooping to such a level where you use your own deceased child to get money seems quite horrendous. Netizens were also stunned in disbelief that someone could actually do something like this. They reasoned that “grief makes people do strange things”, but it definitely shouldn’t push them to try and scam or destroy someone’s life.
Many of them questioned whether the poster could actually sue her for brewing up lies and trying to get him in trouble. Others also mocked her for getting a family lawyer involved in this and then running away with her tail between her legs when OP consulted a “real lawyer”. One way or another, I am just glad that she decided to drop the matter rather than torture the grieving man further.
If you were in his shoes, what would you do? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below!
Netizens were aghast at how low people fall just because of their insatiable greed, while many offered condolences for his late girlfriend

It was just posturing, a scam she was running that she hoped he'd fall for because she used a "lawyer". She thought he would hand the money over, or put her on the deed. She backed off when he legally called her bluff. I'd be looking into the lawyer she used, and threaten to have him disbarred. (If he's actually a real lawyer)
I have my doubts as to whether the mother’s lawyer is a real lawyer, or she just used their name—-or they’re a real lawyer, but a drunk on the verge of disbarment, and mother plied them with alcohol so they’d agree to be a party to this horseshit.
I agree. Because OP’s lawyer provided evidence that every word out of GF’s mother’s mouth - including “and” and “the” - was a lie. The lawyer to send a letter with no evidence on hand?
Load More Replies...So basically the mother played the oh look my child died , ok right then rubs hands together ,time to sue someone !! Only in America right there !! Despicable woman , and beyond evil!, even the devil would have serious issues with this !! n pretend lawyer gets a really letter from a real lawyer n runs 😂😂karma right there ,op I’m so so sorry for your loss , and sorry you were put thru all this stress n c**p while grieving , x stay strong x
