This Grandpa-To-Be Shows His Son How To Bathe A Baby By Using A Cat As An Example
Parents bear a responsibility to teach their children many important life lessons, starting with the simplest ones, such as how to tie your shoes or how to fry an egg, to those that are a bit trickier—how to accept love, treat people with kindness, stay true to yourself, and many more. Apparently, sometimes these lessons also include teaching your offspring how to bathe a newborn baby. And using a cat for said demonstration.

Recently, this Vietnamese grandpa-to-be went viral on the interwebs for coming up with the most genius and adorable way to teach his son how to bathe a newborn baby. His son Vinh Quang Phạm uploaded a video on Facebook capturing his dad demonstrating the whole process, though instead of a real baby, he’s pretending to bathe a cat.
A guy named Vinh Quang Phạm shared a video capturing his dad showing him how to bathe a baby using a cat as a dummy
In the video, you can see the dad showing the whole process to his son and explaining all the steps along the way. Surprisingly, the cat seems to be extremely relaxed throughout the whole video. It almost looks as if it understands its part in this demonstration.

“Hold the neck, then put your hands on the butt cheeks, that will give you a better grip. Hold his butt and put him down in the basin,” the dad explains in Vietnamese, according to the Daily Star. The man makes sure to emphasize that the baby’s head needs to be supported at all times.
Surprisingly, the cat stays calm and completely relaxed throughout the whole video

Then the grandpa puts the furry baby on his lap and demonstrates how to clean a newborn’s head. In the video, you can see him slowly massaging the cat’s head and splashing a little bit of imaginary water on it.
The video currently has over 47k likes and over 11k comments

Share on FacebookThe way he is holding the kitten must feel safe. She isn't going to fall, his actions are loving and kind. If the kitten is so relaxed, imagine how a baby will feel.
That is one amazing cat!!! S/he trusts their human completely. So chill. So sweet!!
And when the drug wore off, then grandpa showed his son how to bandage wounds...
If I didn't also have a daft, laid back floop of a cat like that, I'd think it was drugged - but no....it's just one heck of a chill feline who trusts its hooman.
I've been living with cats most of my life and once in a blue moon you get a cat like this, gentle, calm, trusty. I've had just one cat like this and I miss him so much.
i once had a brown tabby , who was my pride and joy . i got her form my grandfather WITHOUT my mother knowing . i named her Ziggy . i love training my pets , so i taught her how to sit and give paw . she would sleep next to me ALL night and i just loved her . but Ziggy was an outside kitty . i had her for 2 years and one night i let her outside and kissed her and told her i love her so come home to me , but that time she never came home . i really miss Ziggy here is a picture of a picture of her ... That is a very well-loved kitty. She looks completely content while she’s being an educational prop, so she must be very well-treated by her lovely family.
Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it! Wonder if the other cat(s) were crying for a turn.
Yes, Nadine. You could hear them in the background. "Hey, how about me?" "It's my turn now." "Papa, me next."
Load More Replies...Christina Uhlir, I’ll take note, you’re an absolute moron who knows nothing about cats. “Frozen in fear” isn’t something they have, if they feel threatened, they get out of the situation. I know because I’ve lived with 6 cats, at different points in my life. All with very different personalities. Not one of them ever was “frozen in fear” when held, most of them didn’t want to be held, so they yelled a bit, and got themselves out of the hold. So, learn something, and come back.
Load More Replies...Kitty loves it. Does not mind being a stand in for a newborn. Sweet. Give her treats!
@Christina Uhlir You need to stop assuming things. Not all people are horrible. You have no proper context.
Load More Replies...I bathe my cats. They don't hurt me. I don't know why cats have such a bad reputation. One time a friend bathed my cat for me, she was unharmed as well. .
Mine would run away and climb the curtains
Load More Replies...what a pretty cat loyal i can see , but do you rally NEED a cat to show your son how to bathe a baby ?
I am so impressed with this man and his cat! No cat will stay that cool in his owers hands unless there was 100% love and trust. I have never seen anything like this before! It almost made me cry! I'm green with envy too!
Good Grampa to be, the kitty is so relaxed, it means it has been cuddled, and handled with love from day one, to be so trusting, and such a pretty kitty !!!
My only question is how did he manage to get the CAT to comply? IT'S A CAT!
maybe the cat knows he/she will get a treat afterwards X3
Load More Replies...This won’t be a popular opinion, but any time I’ve encountered a kitten that docile (while completely awake I mean) it was because the kitten was sick. 😕
Nah, it’s just your experience. Cats are very different from one another, I’ve never seen a cat this docile myself, but it doesn’t look sick, so that’s what I believe. Have an upvote

This cat is very calm this guy gotta teach me his ways but with a dog not a cat you guys got real spirit in these comments
the cat is just sitting there enjoying the massage like; "This is the best spa I've EVER been to! 5 stars!!"
i need this guy to teach me how to bathe my cat! or i need what ever the cat is on. Either way
To whom it may concern (particularly Christina Uhlir): That cat isn't scared. A bit annoyed, maybe (its ears are a little twisted), but not scared. Its eyes aren't dilated, its ears aren't flat, it's relaxed, its fur isn't bristling. That face it's making at the end is a very happy face (and one I've seen on my own cat). I know what a scared cat looks like, and this is not it.

Orange tabby cats are like that. They love their humans. Combine that with Siamese for a Red Point Siamese and they adore their people.
He's just lucky that cat is so mellow. If I tried that with any of my cats, I'd be in the ER with shredded arms!
Aww the cat must feel very comfortable with the father. At first I thought it must be stuffed bc she didn’t move! That’s a really cool relationship right there
I have seen this video a few times now. EVERY time I see it, I am astounded by the total chill on this cat. I need this cat. The Granddad-to-be is awesome, and that cat is just too, too much! Someone here said that it was as if the cat knew his part. S/he did and played it to perfection!! I love this cat!!
OwO oh dear, our cat literally went in the toilet without coaxing.
Load More Replies...Well, I think we all know that Christina Uhlir is just a raving whacko by now, but this kitty is definitely NOT abused! This is one contented lil kitty and is just lovin the attention and rubs! She probably gets held like this a lot and that's why she's so chill with it, when my lil sis was 6, this was how she held one of our mamma cats kitties...they LOVED it! They'd fall asleep so fast like that and their motor was just a hummin away ;)
Oh yeah, that cat had a little chill face the entire time, and it was soooo cute!
Load More Replies...Orange cats are the sweetest, best-tempered type. I don't care what anyone else says, I've had every color ten times over, and I know. PS-That grandpa is adorable!
Yeah, gingers, calicoes and inverted color calicoes (forget the name, but they’re like black and orange and whatnot) have always been the best with me, as well lol
Load More Replies...So heartwarming :) And yes, a lot of cats LIKE the water and a (relaxing) bath :)
NEVER bathe a cat as long as the vet doesn't tell you. It's not a thing cats do or like, it probably will give you a traumatic and problematic cat.
not entirely true Nadine. their are cats that actually do like water if introduced at a young age, some like them naturally such as the following breeds. Turkish angora who love to swim, Japanese and American bobtail, and the dog like exotic Bengal.
Load More Replies...Possibly the only cat on the planet that would put up with a bath. :)
My cat tolerates baths. He's pretty chill. I only wash him when he stinks though.
