Parents bear a responsibility to teach their children many important life lessons, starting with the simplest ones, such as how to tie your shoes or how to fry an egg, to those that are a bit trickier—how to accept love, treat people with kindness, stay true to yourself, and many more. Apparently, sometimes these lessons also include teaching your offspring how to bathe a newborn baby. And using a cat for said demonstration.

Recently, this Vietnamese grandpa-to-be went viral on the interwebs for coming up with the most genius and adorable way to teach his son how to bathe a newborn baby. His son Vinh Quang Phạm uploaded a video on Facebook capturing his dad demonstrating the whole process, though instead of a real baby, he’s pretending to bathe a cat.

A guy named Vinh Quang Phạm shared a video capturing his dad showing him how to bathe a baby using a cat as a dummy

In the video, you can see the dad showing the whole process to his son and explaining all the steps along the way. Surprisingly, the cat seems to be extremely relaxed throughout the whole video. It almost looks as if it understands its part in this demonstration.

“Hold the neck, then put your hands on the butt cheeks, that will give you a better grip. Hold his butt and put him down in the basin,” the dad explains in Vietnamese, according to the Daily Star. The man makes sure to emphasize that the baby’s head needs to be supported at all times.

Then the grandpa puts the furry baby on his lap and demonstrates how to clean a newborn’s head. In the video, you can see him slowly massaging the cat’s head and splashing a little bit of imaginary water on it.

The way he is holding the kitten must feel safe. She isn't going to fall, his actions are loving and kind. If the kitten is so relaxed, imagine how a baby will feel.

If I didn't also have a daft, laid back floop of a cat like that, I'd think it was drugged - but no....it's just one heck of a chill feline who trusts its hooman.

I've been living with cats most of my life and once in a blue moon you get a cat like this, gentle, calm, trusty. I've had just one cat like this and I miss him so much.

That’s one spoiled cat. It’s probably been held and cradled like that its whole life.

That is a very well-loved kitty. She looks completely content while she’s being an educational prop, so she must be very well-treated by her lovely family.

Wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it! Wonder if the other cat(s) were crying for a turn.

Yes, Nadine. You could hear them in the background. "Hey, how about me?" "It's my turn now." "Papa, me next."
