We all know the sweet taste of successful cheating. No, not on your partner, but on the test that you did not prepare for simply because of who you are as a human being. As students are getting more and more cunning with their cheating skills, some teachers feel the need to take its prevention to the next level as well. For some, these examples may seem a little bit extreme, however, we can all probably agree that the majority of these efforts look hilarious. Prohibiting cellphones
License exams do that too. But in a less distracting way. They have some kind of puch that looks like a book with pockets. Each pocket has the name of the respective exam applicant, where each respective phone goes. Once the exam ends, you are given your phone back, and you're reminded to double-check to make sure the phone is yours.
Maybe they just gave their old phone and kept their brand new iphone in their pocket...
In one survey, over 70,000 high school students at over 24 US schools were questioned. 95% of them said they participated in some form of cheating and 58% admitted to plagiarism.
Anti-cheating cardboard boxes
Are these children with extreme long sight? How could they see what another has written when that far apart anyway?
Seriously? You never cheated off someone this far away before? It's super easy if the test is multiple choice since you only need to see the positioning.
Load More Replies...I wouldn't be able to do a single thing in this, it's claustrophobic as hell
This one is just completely out of proportion and actually preventing kids from writing properly. That teacher is insane.
Diligent supervision
Also ... That looks SO uncomfortable... Can men even do this without hurting their.... Parts ?
Load More Replies...Why are they sitting so close to the board?? Is that the way they sit every day?
Horse blinder-like hats
Stripping down to underwear
Indian army candidates were asked to remove their clothing to deter cheating during a recruitment day.
For they might have something with them. You don't know their ability to cheat.
Load More Replies...This is not to prevent cheating. This is the standard procedure before physical test in the army recruitmernt
This is normal, for males and females (separated of course), to go to a room during MEPS and strip down to their underwear in front of recruiters and leads and perform testing. Been there, done that (and awkwardly wore thongs that day because my male recruiter didn't warn me)
After stripping, it would be a lot more noticeable
Load More Replies...One study shows that some students might cheat because they have poor studying skills and are having a hard time keeping up with the material. However, some people are found to be more likely to cheat if the assessment is very high-stakes. "It creates significant pressure on students because there is so much riding on it and any little mistake can greatly affect their grade," researchers say.
Real-time surveillance
No Big Brother in China?! Now, this looks like a fun job. Just call the teacher and watch the student get forcibly removed.

How do you find this any different from the person physically being the the room doing the same thing?
Load More Replies...A teacher wachting kids is orwellian? May a camera in the kids private room is orwellian, but not this.
Load More Replies...Talk about creepy. But, hey, schools have to do what they have to do to combat cheating.
This way was used in lebanon in last official exam not to prevent cheating but to make a suspicious deal of buying cameras like usually doing our corruption governement
Anti-cheating folders
I agree- we did this all throughout elementary school. It actually worked pretty well, until kids starting writing notes inside their folders ;)
Load More Replies...Perfect! this would hide the fact that I look at tiny little notes, I made.
Vintage anti-cheating hats
That's because this is National Paper Hat Day, and the boy is simply showing off his new large pen to impress 'pencil' girl.
Load More Replies...Dude at the front doesn’t seem to care about your damn rules, what a rebel.
Going through the metal detector
Education authorities installed metal detectors in exam centers in China to clamp down on “wireless cheating devices."
What's up with her sowed on grandma panty baggy sleeves? Her photo ID haircut looks like a boy too?!

Anti-cheating hats
Anyone else see the pretty impressive chalk art on the board behind them all? It almost looks like an anime girl, a very intricate drawing too.
Not really surprising, as this does serm to be in China.
Load More Replies...Ok, I’d just end up reading the news while I’m trying to concentrate on my answers!
All they have to do is sit up straight to stretch their backs from hunching over, and voila- check out the page of the person next to you ... works great ....
Motivational theories predict that when a person perceives a low probability of success for a certain task, chances are they won't invest much effort into it. However, if the task is perceived as high-stakes and they must succeed at it at all costs, students are more likely to turn to cheating than studying.
Drone supervision
This would be super loud and distracting, I feel like it would get annoying.
Um last time I checked, don't drones make a shat tone of noise? Wouldn't it be hard to concentrate?
Ok since nobody else is mentioning this, these things are so loud it would be hard to focus!
Perhaps if he spent his time LOOKING AROUND instead of flying a multi-rotor, he'd have less cheating.
Anti-cheating umbrellas
this is a much more fun idea than cardboard boxes (unless you could decorate the boxes)
My thoughts exactly. This is the 3rd so far that I'm seeing that gives cheaters lots of opportunities.
Load More Replies...Seriously ? If I had an umbrella to hide under in school, I'd be a doctor by now :D
This would actually help cheating, if everyone has their head down the umbrellas make it difficult to see what’s going on underneath them.
I was just thinking I bet it's easier to cheat under those umbrellas!

Anti-cheating cardboard boxes
She's the smart one everyone else wants to cheat off of.
Load More Replies...These boxes are so stupid. I was blessed with good eyes and my go-to was always looking at the paper of the person one row up diagonal from me. They'd do nothing but make you look dumb.
Anti-cheating hats
Two minutes? It's just cutting & taping paper.
Load More Replies...Way to pass this WITH cheating. Step one: Get a hat. Step two: Grab a pen. Step three: Find the answers. Step four: Copy the answers onto sticky note. Step five: Stick the note onto the hat on the inside before the test. Just take a quick look at the cheat sheet in your "cheat prevention hat." Hope this helps. ;D
Researchers suggest that if low-stakes assessments are combined with constructive feedback on a student's strengths as well as specific suggestions for improvement, this will help the student build confidence for later high-stake assessments, this way reducing the likelihood of cheating.
Anti-cheating hats
Pointy white hats existed long before the KKK. Don't give them credit for something they stole back in the day because they were too hateful to be creative.
Load More Replies...There are so many anti cheating hats! I came here because it looked interesting and all anti cheating hats is NOT interesting.
Horse blinder-like hats
The best way to deter cheating is to make knowledge more valued than grades.

Load More Replies...Am I the only one who thinks a lot of these are awful ideas? Imagining trying to concentrate on an exam for two hours while also holding up the weight of a box around your face and listening to a drone buzzing around. It'd drive me mad.
Am I the only one tired of comments starting with "am I the only one"? Because obviously you're not and even if you were, you're no longer to be. Sorry to sound rude, but this trend is... well, it was needed to be said. Anyway, yes, these are not only super distracting, but most of them are actually helping cheaters cheating with notes and stuff. Blind spots are not an effective anti-cheating measure.
Load More Replies...Better off letting them try to cheat, then they can deal with the consequences and learn
Not if those consequences involve designing, doing or making anything that would harm people if done incorrectly. After all, would you want someone performing surgery on you that cheated their way through medical school?
Load More Replies...I remember my German teacher would make 2 different versions of the test, so that the person next to you would have a different version, so cheating wouldn't be useful
I think drones with tasers are a BRILLIANT idea. Just think...... "Oh Look! Billie's cheating! Zzzzap! Drool on the floor, Billie!"
No use them for every day oh Billie's talking zzzap look at Billie scerm.
Load More Replies...Jesus people, just get a bigger room and move the tables apart or get desk dividers. No way I'd make a test with any stuff on my head.
Why go to all that trouble? My teachers would just rearrange the order of the questions. It was the same test, just the questions would be relisted in four different versions, so #1 might be #4 on your neighbors and visa versa. If you cheated it was a crapshoot if the person next to you had the same version on not. If you tried to communicate to figure out how d you had the same version it would be pretty obvious.
In a better education system, cheating should not be a problem. Kids are taught of strong sense of belief in own work. That it is better to get a lower score then cheating.
If you interleave two different class who are taking different exam side by side, so that the guy sitting next to you is always taking a different exam, it can save all these trouble.
In theory great idea but it must be a hassle to find a spot in the schedule
