There are lots of excellent French movies and series. Was positively impressed by the quality of those which aired since 2020. French cinema is actually quite enjoyed by the locals. I was about to say your comment seemed so inaccurate it sounds made up, but then I remembered you were this sad and bitter women who posts anti-French (and often quite hateful) comments because of your divorce to a French dude. Grow up and get the help you need, change countries. You seem to be a sad person.

After Scott made that comment 'the French don't even like themselves' during the Marketing campaign, you'd get tons of trash newspapers / websites titling this sort of thing on your fb feed. It faded away after a few couple of weeks when the film release was official and most critics from around the world were skeptical on the film itself.

What I find funny is that I saw a lot of articles (on social media tbh) from British/American newspapers (right wing tabloids or left wing) stating 'FREnCH ArE OFfEnDED AbOUT NaPOLEON Movie". While in reality there was no major offense, we just expected, as any other cinema goer, a nice cool epic movie (and nothing else) and were served with that gloomy half boring movie. The BBC series featuring an episode on Napoleon was way more interesting. If I should recommend a few movies of Q4 2023: 1) Past lives (South Korea), 2) Les Chambres rouges (Canada), 3) Anatomy of a fall (France).

I wish :). In France, (mentioned by OP) for a classic office job, you have the opportunity to extend on the lunch break, and it's really not in the culture to question people about it, as long as they don't abuse on it. However, you're also not (cultural rule, not written anywhere) expected to leave office before 6:30 or 7 (later in Finance). Personally I'd prefer to start earlier, eat quickly, and leave early, but to each their own :).

Yikes. Ok if you no longer want the single market, and to comply with EU policies on immigration, agriculture etc. But ffs Education and Research should never have been on the balance.

What I find funny, as a European, is that quite often you just try to nuance some of the points, and you get served the downvote with no explanation ^^. Not trying to praise the US or deprecate the European countries we live in, but there is a middle ground on some topics mentioned.

I regularly do Paris-Lyon and I've never suffered any delay but I think i'm one of the lucky ones, from the articles I read every week. What's annoying with SNCF is that either they depart right one time, to the minute. Or the delay is two hours (or more). I agree that DB and ICE are more efficient and should not be on the pic (departure time, don't have the inconvenience of having out of service toilets or carriage doors that don't work, subpar cleanliness).

Why the downvotes ? Lama has a point. It's still a tradition, and a 'rite of passage' in my country that won't shock anyone (any minor can drink at home, the parent is sole supervisor), but not to the level it used to be 30 years ago. Millennials, who are now parents tend to drink less, so habits tends to change as well.

I think what she/he means is cities were you have 100+ historical sites. Can't speak for everyone, and I might be wrong, but I don't think a majority of Europeans would not see the Colosseum as more worthy of interest than the Machu Picchu, the Forbidden city or Petra. It's just easier in some European countries go on binge sightseeing of historical sites, as there is a greater concentration. Rome is a good example. Also, some casual 'Western' tourists see a more natural connection with European arts, while visiting indigenous sites requires you a good guide to fully grasp the grandiosity of what you see.
