The shorter the nose, the harder it is for them to breathe. Saw a programme where a show-cat breeder was trying to get longer noses bred back in and her cats never one a single prize because that's not the 'fashion'. Disgusting. People are bloody stupid.

The first time I saw these dogs I thought they looked really cute because I love Tarsiers and they reminded me of them. Always dreamed of having one but once I found out about their health problems I researched about why they have breathing problems and now I honestly believe they shouldn't even exist in the first place, my heart literally breaks every time I see one, now it's just sad. It's a horrible thing to breed dogs when you know they're all doomed to have breathing problems. Disgusting. Shame on everyone that carries on breeding these dogs knowing what they go through.

I have a Jug (Jack Russel X Pug), who I think is totally gorgeous. He has the "Pugliness" of a Pug, but without the problems such as breathing, dental and weight. His personality is a good mix of the two, he isn't as hyper as a Jack Russell but still loves to race around the fields and woods after his ball.

I must admit I do like a dog to have a proper snout! Though there are other health problems different breeds can get - eg dachshunds with their long backs and very short legs which can cause them pain and problems. That's why rescuing is the best thing to do every time. Or if someone must have a puppy at least find breeders who are at least trying to correct the errors bred in by making faces so short and squashed or any of the other extremes humans have forced upon dogs bodies!

My S.O's family had a pug for the longest time, poor little thing only had one eye because one kept falling out when she was just a pup, so the vet finally removed it. They really aren't well equipped for being alive, I mean what animal's eye falls out?
