Woman Shows Herself Dressing Like Celebrities To Show That You Don’t Have To Be Skinny To Look Good
1.4Mviews
New Yorker Katie Sturino firmly believes that great style can happen at any size. After 10 years of working in PR, she started a blog called the12ish style to introduce girls like her to more size-inclusive fashion and to share her tips and tricks on how to get dressed while being plus.
Katie's blog and Instagram quickly gained thousands of followers as people began to relate to her body-positive message. Finally, here was a happy, healthy woman for whom gaining some weight was not the end of the world. “When I was married, I was very concerned about my body. I was obsessed with maintaining a size 12, or staying close to it,” she wrote in Glamor.
“Then, about three years ago, I got separated and I gained a bunch of weight. At first, I didn’t even realize I was putting it on. I was working out, but it just kept happening. In total, I ended up gaining about 60 pounds. I became a size 16, which I still am, and a surprising thing happened—I really loved my body.”
Katie now runs the beauty brand Megababe on top of her blog, and also finds the time to have a little fun recreating celebrity outfits on Instagram. Scroll down to check out a few of our favorites, and let us know what you think in the comments!

From personal experience, the one piece/pants thing looks pretty awful from behind on anyone over about 90 pounds (similar looks, sans prints, were in in the 70s/80s.)

Sorry can’t see spending allll that money for holes in my pants. Though the outfit is cute.

Maybe it's the angle of the photo, but it looks like Kate hasn't seen a decent meal in a while.

Fugly dress regardless of who wears it. Markle has never had much of a waistline though and a dress like this emphasises that.

It's not really the same look though, is it -- only the colors are comparable.

I don't believe size of the fashionista matters, the quality of the outfits and wearing the right size however....that's the difference.
Exactly.
And this lady looks fabulous! I know I'm not doing myself any favors by wearing things that are loose simply by virtue of being three sizes too big, but I also prefer comfortable over style because even things that are stretchy and the correct size affect my abdominal pain. But whenever I wear something that fits correctly, I get a lot of compliments, and I'm always surprising myself with how much better that stuff looks.
We get it, it's ok to be fat and love yourself, you don't have to post every day about it BP.
You're not even in the same zip code of "getting it"
We get it. We just think it's stupid to try and make obesity "normal" when we know that obesity causes more deaths in a year in this country than all of the cancer deaths combined. ...///... That level of obesity is NOT NORMAL. It IS a health risk. It is NOT "wonderful", it's sad. Sad that a young woman is willing to choose to die a slow suicide.
Says heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Diabetes is #7 which "could" mean obesity. But, heart disease could also be obesity too, but I do not see anything that says OBESITY causes MORE deaths in a YEAR in this COUNTRY.
Good grief! Most of these celeb women look like they haven't eaten a meal since they were 12. And that is promoted as the "ideal?" It's not normal, natural, or healthy to be that thin.
See? THIS is what's wrong these days. Skinny shaming is the trend. The opposite of this article is what we need. There are tons of women with naturally skinny bodies, but people are too narrow minded to research about it or just google for 5 mins and hence, skinny shame others thinking it's the better way. Call a naturally slightly thicker lady as "fat" all hells break loose. Call a naturally "tall and skinny" body type women as "12 yo, not normal" no one thinks it's wrong. You're basically repeating the toxic culture in a reverse manner.

But insulin manufacturers and fastfood chains are paying for it!
Please stop with the concern trolling -- not everyone who is overweight is diabetic or eats fast food. You might as well say that the skinny pics are paid for by coke dealers and "diet pills."
I was overweight for several years. I was very healthy but needed to lose twenty pounds. I never frequented fast food places then or now, and I've never been on insulin. I'm sure I'm not the only one in the world - so that ends that argument.
"Woman Recreates Celebrity Looks To Prove That Style Is Not Dependent On Size". Yeah, that kind of failed. She looks good, but the styles really do work a lot better on the women on the left.
I don't agree about all the styles. Sometimes an outfit works better if it has some shape to it.
Yes, like Rihanna, not like 50 pounds overweight :)

Mieke Soreé not necessarily. she loves what she loves, AND SHES GOING TO WEAR IT NO MATTER WHAT! u are the one that needs the "shaped clothes".
I think she rocked a lot of the looks, and even looked better in a couple of them. However, there were some looks that needed more structure or a little bit more of an adjustment to better flatter her shape.
Nah, I think she pulled it off. The reason we perceive thin women to be prettier is because we are biologically programmed to, but the outfits themselves look no worse on her then on any actress. There are a few that look out of place, but those pretty much suck on the models too
Not biological but societal. In the past, most cultures preferred more full figured women. Even today, some cultures still believe being thin is unhealthy.
Imajin, the Roman's believed larger women were more fertile and attractive but they would wretch with the morbid obesity that is going on. I believe science over being pc about this, thin isn't bad, obesity is.

I disagree. I found that many of the styles looked better when filled out. And some of the styles were so ugly they didn't work on either woman.
@europeancosplayscene racism and hate are the only two words to describe your comment.
Exactly.
