Shopping can be fun, but not if you’re on a budget, which is why some folks try to buy quality products once so they don’t have to keep splurging over and over again. The idea of purchasing something for life can be quite amazing, but only if the item actually withstands the test of time.
Unfortunately for the folks on this list, they realized too late that their products weren’t built to last, which is why they lamented it in the r/BIFLfails group. Even though we can sympathize with their pain, we definitely can’t miss a chance to laugh at these terrible purchases.

Not My Oc, But Major Appliances Should Last A Hell Of A Lot Longer Than That
In Australia the consumer laws say (summarised) that more expensive items that would generally be expected to last X number of years must still be repaired or replaced by the place you purchased it from (or manufacturer) even if the warranty has run out. If you have misused or mistreated the product then this does not apply. In this example GE would be required to do something. I think for a washer it should be expected to last five years, so you still have rights for that long.

Second Pair Of Okabashi Sandals To Fail In Exactly This Way
Not related to this branch, just a general warning: if you buy expensive shoes for "special occasions", wear them about every 3 months - just walking around in the house for one day will do. Otherwise the sole material can get dry and crumbly. I worked on the customer hotline for a quite known brand and had more than one person suddenly find themselves going through their daughter's wedding or brother's funeral barefeet....

It also looks like the toe is being repeatedly subjected to wear. Are the kicking objects on the regular or do they work on their knees and drag the toe unconsciously against the floor? Un less they are designed for the two examples i mentioned they will fail as they are not designed for that kind of repeated stress.

I wish companies would go back to creating quality products that lasted their customers years, sometimes decades. These days it's all plastic sh it and the most inexpensive materials, so that people have to keep buying new ones. It makes the companies a lot more money to sell trash. Greedy bastards
Bought a Miele washing machine in the sales, Jan 2000. Got an extra £100 off as there was a dent in the side. Still going strong, but cost about the same as both my previous machines cost and they only lasted 6/7years between the 2 of them. They're expensive but made of concrete!
Load More Replies...Why do people assume that a reputable and expensive brand guarantees better quality? A brand name often just allows a company to sell a product at a higher price.
on the other hand theres my bf's Kipling backpack thats over 30 years old and still looks like new!
There are STILL quality footwear: my work boots are steel toed Keens that were made in Portland, Oregon (although they have switched their production to Kentucky)...I've been wearing them for a couple of years now and they are still going strong (I work around diesel buses) BUT a lot of Keen shoes and boots are made overseas, HOWEVER, I've had zero issues with the H2 sandals, which I basically live in from April to September and they were made in Vietnam, I think. Keen is just a good brand. Then come October, I switch to one of my various Docs or Hunters (if it gets really wet and sloppy).
